I got my tacoma trd offroad longbed a few months ago and absolutely love it. I love the way it drives and has been extremely capable in several unexpected situations.
From what I understand this tacoma is the sweat spot if you don't get the TDR Pro. This gives you the option to put your own lift and bigger off road tires on this and really off road with this
if the car doesn't have the front radar, yes it's easy. but all the newer Tacomas come standard with it now, and if you look at the grill of the Trail Edition that has the Heritage grill, its radar sits lower than the one in the TRD Off Road that's in the Toyota logo itself that's a little higher, towards the center. that's just my observation.
This is why I’m waiting for the redesign, they still can’t even give the 2023 a Digital dash and their new infotainment software, trust me I get it’s a Tacoma. I’ve had my 2nd gen 2015 for 7 years going on 8 years strong with 0 issues but the interiors really need massive upgrade especially with their closest competition the GM twins giving them a huge run for their money interior wise.
TRD oem lift kit on the TRD off road is the sweet spot. You get better handling, the heritage grill….add some TRD wheels and boom, similar looks to the PRO and better on road feel.
Super nice truck I got the same truck mine as a 6-speed manual so it only comes with 5 ft bed mine doesn't have the LED package or any of those 📦 added... I personally like the 6-ft bed because I got my truck for towing 5X10 enclosed trailer & it would be a little more stable but I don't have any problems now so it should be all good. Nice review 👍👍💯
Am I the only person who thinks they need to upgrade the way the center gauge? I love Toyotas and tacomas but I feel like they could do so much better.
@@SSPshooter72 Yeah, I'm averaging 18-21 in my TRD Off-Road with mixed driving. I'm betting I could eke out 22-23 on an all-interstate (65mph) trip and probably 23-25 mpg on a state highway (50-55 mph) trip. If anything, V6 Tacomas are comparable to any other V6 pickup, full-size or not, that doesn't utilize things like cylinder deactivation and auto start-stop and such.
How does one get all of that from a comment that "this truck is 8 grand overpriced?" Its an observation. Reading comprehension is key when in the comments section.

To get the LED Lights and the front camera, you have to get the Premium pkg. This pkg also includes Leather seats and a sunroof, JBL stereo system.
it's old, it's cramped, and it won't win any races; but the quality, reliability, and resale value make it King of mid sized trucks!
Trucks aren’t made to race, that’s just for sports cars, everything else you’re right about
@@Jn-yw5oq True you're right.
It is also $$$ for a 20 year old design. Honestly, Taco buyers are subsidizing hybrid Sienna's.

You can totally do the Heritage thing on the front end because I did it on my 2017 TRD off-road I bought a TRD Pro Grill

I've had two trd offroads. A 2021 and a 2022. I put the heritage grill on both with no issues.
I just got me a 2023 Tacoma sport. I’m happy so far.
You can replace the front grill to a heritage one.
Kinda played out. The off road grill looks better imo.
@@LSX01Nation you must be joking?

Just got my TRD Off-road and I love it 😊!!!
Great review Ben & the Tacoma is still the best looking truck in the segment. I can’t wait when Toyota upgrades this power train
I love my 2022 same color as that one. I can tell you first hand those tires don’t do good in mud but not bad for climbing.
I really love this truck!! Awesome job Ben.
Yotaverse sells the pro grille.

Ben what is the payload capacity on this particular model??
Can a 6’3 guy fit in here? I’m mostly legs but still have a long torso too
Old reply but yes. I've had two. I'm 6'3. Plenty of room. Alittle narrow but I have no problems in mine
personally, I'd love to have a Limited with a long bed.
To make things REALLY SPICY it would have a manual transmission.
This dude cracks me up how he keeps on saying pop in…lol
2023 Toyota Tacoma TRD 4X4 OFF-ROAD Package Crew Cab Long Bed 4X4!
I never understood why these trucks don't get better gas mileage with a v6.
My full size truck gets the same if not better gas mileage.
You get 20-22mpg?
@@SSPshooter72 in my 2.7 ecoboost f150 yes.
About the same as a Jeep Wrangler. I've gotten 24 plus a few times.
I have a 21 Tacoma 3.5 auto 4x4. I drive about 80%highway 20% city. It gets 23-24 mpg. I have see as high as 27
Is this one 4X4?
ive never noticed you having a passenger before.
Why can't you put the heritage grill on this Tacoma?
You can. I've done it twice.
Am I the only person who thinks they need to upgrade the way the center gauge? I love Toyotas and tacomas but I feel like they could do so much better.
No I mean they have upgraded every other one of their models even the Corollas and yet the Tacoma still have that 7 year old gauge
2016-present tacoma 3rd gen
My full size truck gets that gas mileage. Why are toyota trucks so terrible with gas mileage?
You must not have a gas burner. These Tacomas can get 22-23mpg on the hwy. I've seen so many reports of folks averaging over 20mpg combined hwy/city.

For the automatic, it's because it's a 6 speed. Most modern full size trucks use 10 speeds where you have 3-4 overdrive gears purely for gas mileage.
This truck is 8 grand overpriced.
So buy another one if you aren't happy. No one is forcing you to buy it. Look at the packages on it and quit complaining.

This is not a 2023 model like your title states.
Yes it is. See 7:40
