Thank you for sharing. Did you use a 15W heat wire instead of original heat parts or just add extra one of heat wire? Thank you.

Thank for watching. I added an extra wire ---- a Supco SH201 heater 15Watts, which I ordered from Amazon. www.amazon.com/Supco-SH201-Braided-Aluminum-Heater/dp/B008HQ7MSW
      Hope this help you.

Cool invention (pardon the pun). We own a similar model and age samsung. Constantly icing up when you live in a humid climate because the defrost element cycle is too short. Also lets ice build up in the rubber drain tube, which is hard to defrost because instead of a tube straight down from the gutter at the corner, they put in in the center of the gutter, and put elbows embedded in the cabinet! Learned the trick of pressing two control buttons at once to display "force defrost", and giving it the time it needs.

Thank you for watching and sharing your trick to manually defrost. I couldn’t agree with you anymore. Samsung fridge defrost system is either heater not powerful enough or interval too long between defrost or defrost time too short.

You need to thaw ice behind panel. Watch this video to force defrost first. How to Defrost Samsung Refrigerator in Force Defrost Mode: DIY Defrosting Guide

Glad I found your video. I'm not sure that I'm at the point yet of pampering with the back panel since this is the first time we have had this issue of the ice building up at the back of the refrigerator. I've seen other videos where they say to dismantle the back panel and melt all the ice to allow the refrigerator to start cooling again. My question is with your experience do you think that if I just let it sit for 2 days, unplug it and let it defrost normally that would also remove the ice from the back?

Thank you for watching and sub. Unplug for two days it should thaw the ice. It is quicker if you force defrost manually. What happened to me is Ice buildup, resulting in noisy fan happened a quite few times before I added on auxiliary 15 watt heater. Each time I have to force defrost several times to melt ice. It did took time to do it. But after a year or half year it happened again. The last time it not only made noisy sound it also caused warmer fridge. My wife was concerned about food safety So I decided to add extra heater on where ice buildup. Since then so far so good. Hope it help you.

Forgot to tell you I purchased the Supco SH201 heater 15Watts. I will wait for your reply about cutting original wire that runs around coils. Thanks

Thank you for sharing. When you cut the original heating wire that ran around all the coils there is on heating of the bottom coils. Am I correct that you do not need to heat the bottom coils? Thanks for your reply.

Thanks for watching, you do need bottom defrost heater. I added aux. 15 watt heater, which is parallel with original bottom defrost heater electrically.

A very helpful tip to extend the life of the compressor is to add 50ml of sulphuric acid to the compressor before regassing
