Hi brother I have doubt , recently I bought new fridge single door now I'm looking compressor it was have dent and pump, this is danger or its ok pls tell me
Thank you very much for such a good video it is very clear to understand. I have problem with my Samsung RFG297AARS the compressor is not coming on at all the fan is running , I tried to follow the diagnostic steps from your video , everything is fine except "3:09 to 3:55" when I check the compressor's coil resistance I got only 0.84 ohm , any suggestion what it could be and how to resolve it. Thanks again for your time
@@thecrim22 Yes it was the converter board (the smaller one) I replaced it and now it is working like before. I am so happy about coz there have been two gentlemen to tell me two different "faults". One was telling the compressor is gone and it is expensive to replace it the next was telling me there "should"(what means he is not sure about) be a small leak and there is no more coolant in system so because of this compressor can't come ON . and and and . Luckily I found the board for very reasonable price and swap was a piece of cake. Good Luck
ok- i have a samsung refrigerator. The "DC" is not correct I think. The compressor is marked "240V 3 phase." That means the inverter board is putting out 3 phase voltage, that is the 3 wires will have all 3 wires have the same voltage between each pair. An inverter doesn't make DC, that would be called a rectifier. The inverter makes 3 phase so the motor doesn't have to have a starting capacitor which can fail. Three phase motors are more reliable than single phase motors. Single phase power is what you have at your house, 120/240V single phase. The inverter turns that into three phase.
Hi, it is inverter compressor, it has to have identical reading in all 3 points. It is not a typical C S R with 50-60 Hz where you Identify Common Start & Run readings. Inverter compressor runs on 40- to about 180 Hz on 240v and thus to see if compressor winding is still good reading has to be identical or within 0.1-0.2 ohm on all 3 connections. Body short you check the same way as old one.
Thank you Sir for you efforts to make these videos, i am knew at this and it helps a lot. Could you please make a video explaining all parts of the PCP Board and what they do?. Thanks again
Hi, thank for the information, it really helps. Got a question, can I connect directly the two cables of the overload ? Just to see if the system is working?
I need your advice i have liner compressor FMC088NAMA i need this refrigerator convert to nomal mode tell me this compressor to equal (MA72LHEG can i use this 134a gas compressor)
Well check the manuals, I could not recommand without seeing it physically, well you need to check the manuals of both the compressors and match it specifications with one another. If they are almost the same then go for the replacement.
We had a flood in the basement. Both fans on the refridgidaire refrigerator work. The compressor does not come on. Could it be the overload switch? Thank you
I checked the winding/housing short circuit - no short circuit. I measured the winding resistances and in each case I got 0.0Ω. What could have happened? The compressor is 12V DC
What will be the problem if the compressor winding reads ok and we have 120 volts on the compressor terminal a d the compressor doesn’t want to run; the overload is fine
I have exactly this fridge with an inverter compressor, the overload is ok, the re is power on the compressor terminals , the winding resistance is ok but the the compressor won’t run; what should I do to get it running? Thanks
You are absolutely correct. There are 3 terminal pins, 2 windings within the compressor which are connected to the common terminal, (which is usually the pin at the top). If you measure from the bottom left pin to the top pin that will give you the resistance of the start winding. Bottom right pin to top pin will give you resistance of the run winding. And the bottom two pins together will give you the total resistance of both windings as they are both connected internally to the common (top pin). All values should be different but check manufacturers specifications to be sure.

I have a Samsung fridge family hub model rf265beaesr it was working but suddenly when you plugged it the compressor sounds like star running then shut down right away, then the touch screen have a code 84c compressor locked over RPM. Then the compressor you can hear that it's running but very slow you barely can hear it. But nothing nothing its working inside the fridge. What can I do?
First of all check the compressor, As I have told in the video. If the compressor is ok. Look for the any wire that's been lose connection or cut attached with the compressor. If everything is ok. If you have another compressor attach that with the motherboard to verify that the motherboard is good. If you attach that new compressor and it works. Means your old compressor is bad. And need replacement.

Just another reason to avoid any refrigerator that has electronics in it. Far too many points of failure. And those boards are very EXPENSIVE, IF you can even get one when you need it.
@@MBihon2000 My refrigerator certainly is not 70 years old. Closer to 25-30 years old maybe. I have converted refrigerators from electronics to mechanical many times. Electronics ones lasted a year or so. Mechanical conversions are still working even today. If I can find a decent one with coils up the back, I would get it. Less moving parts and no electronics.
There are always the reasons behind why electrical failures happen. Without explaining them, such as the large resistance difference in this case, your fixing skills do not get any further.

The best method of testing a compressor is with a Megger. Two faults occur on a compressor are : winding to winding short and winding to chassis. A normal multimeters' voltage goes up to 9 volt. Where a meggers' voltage goes up to a 1000v. When testing with a Megger you won't go higher than 500v. So a megger is much better to use.

I have Never heard of a threephase D.C. motor. Stop teaching "NONSENCE" D.C. does not have frequency. A.C. has frequency. Where have you bent to school? What a"SHAME"
3 phase refers to the number of electrical phase windings on the motor. It is switched via a 3-phase power "bridge" from a DC voltage supply. This "bridge" consists of 6 power devices - normally IGBTs, but sometimes MOSFETs. They use pulse-width modulation to control the power, and the order in which the 3 motor phases are energized determines the direction of rotation.
The terms AC and DC can describe signals as well. An AC signal is a current, voltage, or numerical sequence that consistently exhibits both positive and negative values, and a DC signal exhibits only positive values or only negative values.
