Ive played the drums for 35 years but had to give up due to health problems, it was so refreshing to watch you play so well, keep it up girl, you're wonderful !
I don't know why it has to be "Best girl drummer i've seen." or "great job for a girl." In my opinion she is a rocking, solid drummer... period. Girl or guy. Awesome job on the drums thanks for uploading! Cheers to the music- Chugly.
Dear! You're far the best female drummer I've seen on youtube so far... and I'm looking for quite a while. Pretty good, great beats, groove and technique, not only boring speed!!!! Thumbs up!!!!!
Beautifiull clear cut and precice grooves, lovely staight ahead chops that cut through, great sounding kit and a very pritty girl. Clean precice to the point and no mess everything a good drummer should be !
this solo is sick i've been drumming for over 9 years (i am 12 right now) i still can't do the double kicks like you did. great video, certainly was one of the best solos i've seen in a while.
I hope you keep drumming- I really enjoyed the video clip and wish you all the best in your future endeavors. Thanks for uploading a video clip worth watching.
bout time a great non famous drummer comes around posting a solo that doesnt show them going crazy with 32nd notes the entire time. great solo and great playing =D its more impressive to phrase well in any instrument than play fast
I hate people who have to riddle this wonderful drummer's video page with comments in relation to her race and/or gender (the "kitchen" remarks). Why do people assume a level of talent based on those aspects, rather than assuming them on her enthusiasm for the instrument and dedication to practicing? I want to play the drums someday, and I find much inspiration in your video here. I love your style, and I am impressed by your talents! You are simply amazing. -vixenrevitup
I've been cruising TH-cam searching for a good drum solo video, and while there are many out there, THIS one is EXACTLY what I was looking for!! :D Your sound is amazing! The beat got my head bobbing and my heart pounding!!! I've only seen this video, but it's good enough to get me to check out all your others, and subscribe too! ;)
@GlitchHalo well when you record from just a regular camera, there's only one mic built in and cannot get all the sounds of the drums (heads, cymbals, etc.). And depending on where you position the camera, there's always one part of the drums that is going to be too loud on the audio. So if you mic the drums, you can individually raise and lower the volume of each head and cymbals to the desired loudness. Plus you can mix the tones of the whole set, which makes it sound better.
You are very good and I love your use of different patterns, very versatile and tasteful. I've been playing on and off for 36 years but never had formal training. Just listened to greats like Neil Peart-Rush of course, Alan White-Yes, Phil Collins/Chester Thompson-Genesis, John Bonham-Led Zeppelin and who can not listen to Keith Moon. Keep it up and DON't give up. God bless you always:-)) God gave you a special gift:-))
Grooves on the Drums are Far more interesting and inspiring than "spamming" on the drums :P. You have achieved that knowledge as I have seen in this Drum Solo. Keep on developing skill :D
You definitely know how to rock a kit :) I would suggest just fine-tuning your fills a bit so the timing stays more consistent, but that was a very enjoyable solo to listen to. I've been drumming for almost 15 years now and I'm taking notes of new tricks to try. All I have is natural talent, and you play like you have the training to back your talent up, which I never had the fortune to get for myself. Keep rocking!
Fill at 20 sec. is a thirty second note lick made utilized by Billy Cobham on Spectrum from 1973. The sticking is entirely alternate (RLRLRL) but the trick is to play two 32nd notes two 16ths, two 32nds two 16ths, two 32nds two 16ths, two 32nds two 16ths, and then play four 16ths. It comes out to an even 4/4. However, instead of wrapping it up with four 16ths on beat four, you could play two 32nds two 16th two 32nds. That would still equal four 16ths. There are more variations-no room left.
Wow, i definitely like playing along with this video, given the lovely job you've done. Only problem though (on my end, anyway) is that I always have to practice on cork coasters I bought from IKEA. Oh well, Kudos Nevertheless!! I love marching to different beats and yours is no different and of no disgrace.
It's a 4 stroke ruff 4 times in the context of three beats with sixteenths on beat four - ala Neil Peart in YYZ first drum fill during bass/drum breaks - Phil Collins uses this fill alot too.
I love your solo. I think it's really good. How long have you been playing the drums? I'm a very new drummer. I just started in May but I've been a tap dancer for years so that helps a bit. I find the drums to actually be easier than tap dancing. Hopefully one day I can jam like this. You're great!
REALLY enjoyed that, especially the swiss flam triplets (?). I rarely see anyone who flams well on TH-cam. You should do more of them in your solo. It's a great chop. Try it as a crossover! GREAT job!
I don't care what gender or race someone is... Great playing is great playing, and that was GREAT playing!!! Thank you for sharing and keep on playing!!!!
Very nice !!!!. . . . .I find it hard to believe that anyone would say they dislike this . . . . .Great Job - Nice stick work and bass drum. I am wondering how old you are ? And when you started playing.
haha you know that guy down below, I also live in germany, my parents are com the west coast, I've been drumming for 3 years, and I also think you are great. keep it up!
Ive played the drums for 35 years but had to give up due to health problems, it was so refreshing to watch you play so well, keep it up girl, you're wonderful !
Another excellent example of "quiet and quick" hands, doing an excellent job of filling the space with sound.... Thank you very much!
I don't know why it has to be "Best girl drummer i've seen." or "great job for a girl." In my opinion she is a rocking, solid drummer... period. Girl or guy.
Awesome job on the drums thanks for uploading!
Cheers to the music- Chugly.
Beautiful touch, tone, and time, feel and chops, played skillfully.
