Regarding portability, using the balanced 4.4mm on my Cayin RU7 dongle and iPhone the Bokeh gets uncomfortably loud in the mid 50s out of 72 and sounds amazing…..I think on that HIby if you were using the SE it’s pretty anemic (105mW?!). I agree with the comparison to Focal Radiance, pretty similar sound (high praise) but you can’t even find used Radiances, they don’t make new ones anymore, and you’d also have to walk around with plastic cups and a cheesy Bentley sticker on the side, so no comparison really. These headphones are incredible, looking forward to your review of the Atrium Closed, the recent stabilized drop was pornographic. Your reviews are always informative and honest, thanks for doing the work.
Atticus is amazing aint it I owned the ori suede pads too but somehow I prefer the original ori lambskin more. I am looking for a midbass monster and the ori lambskin is the pad that made atticus exactly that!
great review! does Bokeh compete well vs E3 and Liric2, considering it is quite a bit cheaper? i think from what i have learned from your reviews it would be more similar to the Meze rather than E3.
Nice Review Wave. Those look heavy. You can hit those type wood cups with Beeswax to protect them and give them a nice shine. You should check out the JM Audio Headphones. The owner John is a wizard with HP tunings. I bet he'd send you some HP's to review if you contacted him
Comparison to the Liric 2. Have and love the Bokeh but interested in Liric 2 for portability and drivability. Is it really an upgrade beyond more flexible ergonomics?
Great review:) will it work Nicole with Mojo 2? Looking for closed back headphones with more warm, nice bass, something like a bit darker side od sound. Will Bokeh be a nice improvement competitor for Meze Liric but the first generation?
I had to send the V222 back to its owner so I didn't get to direct test the combo, but in general there should be no problem. Vios have long handled hi-Z cans very well.
Yes, I just got them. I have Hifiman Arya SE, Sennheiser HD800S, HD6XX, HD600 as my other headphones. The headphones that I will use from now is, the Arya SE and Bokeh. Thoose to are all I need 👍
The Atrium Closed is more resolving and more dynamically impactful and has an overall more fun kind of sound. I generally didn't like the Verite Closed. The VC is more resolving than Bokeh but is not nearly as evenly tuned and is more of a genre specialist where the Bokeh is a generalist.
@@Cp48533 I also have the HE1000se got mine for a bit more than you paid though and I have the Radiance also thanks to Wave Theory. Love them both so not too interested in other headphones at the moment.
Both are excellent all-rounders. Bokeh leans bassier, especially mid-bass and warmer overall. Auteur Classic is a bit brighter, generally more neutral & balanced. Better stage, imaging and details on the Auteur Classic but not substantially so.
@@lxmcc ah, many thanks! I own a pair of Auteur classic. If the Bokeh is bassier compared to the Auteur Classic, I might be interested in grabbing a pair
I'll never buy another Focal after my experience with the Focal Clear OG. That thing popped like crazy right out of the box. And Headphones d0t c0m where I bought it said it couldn't be returned because that's normal. Never again Focal. 👎

@@wavetheorysound oh. Not in sound. But it kinda looks like it lol. But could be a really good closed back for people to start with especially on the used market.
Bass is actually the least likely to cause hearing loss, even though it feels like it should. If clubs blasted the treble instead of the bass, we'd all be deaf by the end of university.
@@ChrisStoneinatorthat is incorrect. It Is based on SPL NOT frequency. Measure SPL of bass compared to higher frequencies and its SPL is 10 times as loud.
Awesome review! I can't wait to hear your opinion on the Atrium Closed and your comparisons among the Bokeh/Atrium/Atrium Closed 😁
Atrium closed, bokeh, radiance, his foxtex purple heart would make more sense imo.

Your description of Bokeh's sound is also how I would describe the ZMF Atticus (Ori Suede pads). Great all-round and nothing lacking at all.
Atticus is amazing aint it I owned the ori suede pads too but somehow I prefer the original ori lambskin more. I am looking for a midbass monster and the ori lambskin is the pad that made atticus exactly that!
Great review
Kindly review sony mdr z1r next
I could roll 3-4 pads on this quite easily. It is more difficult than other ZMFs but not so bad.
Thanks for giving a look at another ZMF headphone. If it's ranking up there with the Radiance for you that Bokeh then is doing a very fine job.
great review!

Waiting for hifiman susvara unveiled and sivga p2 pro review.

Yes, it works very well with Mojo 2
👍
Shame you didn’t get to try protein pads, any basshead considerations would have gone away : ) it kicks pretty hard with the protein pads
Damn did I forget to send @wavetheory the protein pads? They are bassier for sure.
Fool, when thou didst fail to send the protein pads, thou doomed us all!
I LOVE ZMF ❤🎶 but I agree about the pad rolling nightmare 😅
How does it compare with the Aeolus? Thanks.
Would love to compare this to Aeolus. About same price.
Would Violectric V-222 pair well with Bokeh?
I'm wondering the same thing. I would imagine they do because of their impedance?
I had to send the V222 back to its owner so I didn't get to direct test the combo, but in general there should be no problem. Vios have long handled hi-Z cans very well.
Focal Radiance are still being sold?
These rock with Chord Mojo 2
Yes they do!!! That combo is amazing 👍💥
Would this be a nice compliment headphone with the hifiman arya organic?
The Arya Organic is far brighter

Seems like a fostex th-x00 replacement.
It does not have the physicality of Fostex. Not even close.

Pad rolling ZMF is easier than Hifiman, Senn, Focal, Fostex, etc. Not sure why you struggle with it haha
