I literally just got a pair for starting a new home, how do I get my Senegals trust

Hi, good to hear you just got a pair! Do you have them in seperate cages or have they bonded already and share a cage? To gain their trust you basically interact with them, talk to them a lot, pet them, have them step up on your hand or of it's too early for that you can have them step up on a perch. Oh yeah, give them a treat. It takes a while to build a trusting relationship. Also remember Senegals are one-person parrots, they choose the person they want to bond with. And don't do things they're not in the mood for, like forcing them to do step-up or to get them out of the cage. They notice when you give them the space and patience they need and they'll open up to you. Last but not least, even when they trust you they might not like certain things, you'll learn with time what they like and do not like and you'll adapt to that. Same the other way around, some things just can't be allowed and they'll have to respect that. Pinky likes to undo the wallpaper, I then gotta make sure he doesn't go near wallpaper and when he tries to I'll communicate with him and bring him back to me. In the beginning he would bite, now he knows I don't mean him harm and he's only getting back to me. Good luck! Be kind and patience towards your Senegals, with time you'll feel like they trust you.
