Edit: Looks like he might be able to come home this week or beginning of next and ease back into life at home life. He has mental health issues that make each day different than the next and frankly he's had a really hard time lately. Thank you for all the prayers, kind thoughts and support. I never expected such.
I have a saying about Mental Illness " It's not your fault that you and I have this terrible affliction but.....it is our responsibility to manage it through meds,council or what ever it takes to live a our lives and achieve" At the age of 12 it struck me hard and tore my self esteem apart.I worked 30 hours a week while taking advanced High School,I graduated from two Colleges suffering in agony without medication or a diagnosis.I went into law enforcement and then into Government for 23 years.I had a psychotic break at 50 and was diagnosed and medicated. If I can do all that with severe mental Illness then a person with meds and self management can become anything they desire.

And I know just because we share a last name we're probably not related, but I hope we are so I can have like just a pinch of your music talent.

I think they harmonize really beautifully and that this is an amazing cover! When she throws him the shaker after hooking it up from under her leg, the fact that he caught it and how she pulls out a harmonica is the coolest thing I have ever saw!
A good friend of mine showed me this cover years ago and we both just loved it so much. It’s been almost 4 years since she took her life and any time I miss her I come back to this video. This is one of my favorite (or maybe THE favorite) video on TH-cam. I listened to it at least 8-9 years ago for the first time. Every so often, I find myself needing to hear it again. I love everything about it…the harmonizing, the homey background and casual clothes, the way Eva looks at Nathan, and the way Nathan smiles at the end when they make eye contact during the harmonica playing. There's so many small beautiful things that happened in this video that caused this to exceed over 18 million views. The look on her face when she knew they were crushing it that time. The moment she started the little tambourine. The switching to the harmonica and the little look her brother gave her when she was in the zone. Among the years, it's still an amazing cover.
It should be frustrating for the original version's producer to see a couple of teen siblings with barely 2 instruments making something so much better than the studio version. I'm a musician. I've been playing for 20 years and still thinking this is simply great.

I think they harmonize really beautifully and that this is an amazing cover! When she throws him the shaker after hooking it up from under her leg, the fact that he caught it and how she pulls out a harmonica is the coolest thing I have ever saw!

A good friend of mine showed me this cover years ago and we both just loved it so much. It’s been almost 4 years since she took her life and any time I miss her I come back to this video. This is one of my favorite (or maybe THE favorite) video on TH-cam. I listened to it at least 8-9 years ago for the first time. Every so often, I find myself needing to hear it again. I love everything about it…the harmonizing, the homey background and casual clothes, the way Eva looks at Nathan, and the way Nathan smiles at the end when they make eye contact during the harmonica playing. There was once a comment on this video quite a long time ago of some guy saying he wouldn't know what to do if his children were this super powered. Something like that. It was a humbling kind of comment. Just wanna make sure it doesn't go forgotten.
You have really touched people with your genuineness and talent......that 3:26 min can never be recaptured and don't try to. It's great that it was recorded for you and us to enjoy forever but my advice would be to never try to get back to that place and time.....for you never will........just understand that the genuineness is what made it special and try to never to loose that honesty.

There's so many small beautiful things that happened in this video that caused this to exceed over 18 million views. The look on her face when she knew they were crushing it that time. The moment she started the little tambourine. The switching to the harmonica and the little look her brother gave her when she was in the zone. But the biggest reason in my opinion is the pure love and innocence
