'ØF KINGDØM AND CRØWN' is a 13 track concept album set in a decimated futuristic wasteland where the sky is stained crimson red. The crux of the story is based on 2 main characters:
Character #1 Ares: (pronounced Aries), our main, who loses the love of his life (Amethyst) and goes on a murderous rampage against the vile sect responsible for her murder.
Character #2 Eros: (pronounced Arrows) the perpetrator, who loses his mother to a drug overdose and becomes radicalized in the aftermath. Eros goes off the deep end manifesting his own killing spree.
The lyrics detail how their lives intertwine.
MACHINE HEAD founder Robb Flynn comments:
“Thanks to my 2 teenage boys my family has become obsessed with this awesome Japanese anime series called “Attack On Titan.” The album’s concept was loosely inspired by the series in the sense that in the storyline, there is no “good" or "bad" guy, both characters believe they’re doing the right thing as it applies to their being, but make no mistake, both are committing acts of pure atrocity and evil. The opening track “SLAUGHTER THE MARTYR” is basically our character #1’s origin story.”
FORMATS:
The colossal concept comes with a list of equally colossal packaging for various physical formats including 16 different worldwide vinyl formats, deluxe vinyl box set (with bonus tracks), CDs (both old-school longbox and jewel box options), multi-color cassettes, and a limited-edition Digipak with bonus tracks.
CDs, Digipak, cassettes, and all digital formats will be available on Aug 26th, with all vinyl formats arriving on Nov 25th.

Written against the backdrop of a once-in-a-century pandemic, and the long and painful death of frontman / guitarist Robb Flynn’s mother, these 3 songs represent one of the darkest chapters in MACHINE HEAD history.
And while songs like blistering opening track “Become The Firestorm" seethe with an apocalyptic anger, the 3-track single closes with one of the most transcending songs in the MH arsenal in title track “Arrows In Words From The Sky"
Flynn states:
"The lyrics to these songs took to me places inside I didn’t want to go, from the bile and negativity on “Rotten,” to nothing-will-beat-me-down fury of “Become The Firestorm,” to the title track “Arrows” being one of the saddest songs I’ve ever written, yet somehow has the power to lift me up out of what was a very dark time in my life. I want to thank you all! You truly make music that speaks to my soul and makes me bang my head the whole time. This song and the other 2 as well gave me chills when I first listen to them at midnight. I made sure I stayed up to listen to them a few times over and then I been listening to them all day long along with all of the other recent singles that have come out. Machine Head never disappoint. The new tracks have been on repeat since release. I speak on behalf of myself and a ton of Machine head fans, this is the direction to go in! I have loved everything you guys put out, but this shit is dope! Got the MH logo tattooed on me 16 years back, and this makes me not regret it in the slightest!

After Catharsis and Phil and Dave left, I thought Machine Head was done for sure. Do or Die came out and as much as I tried to love it I wasn’t a fan. Civil Unrest and My Hands Are Empty are good songs, but this along with the other two new tracks MH just released blow everything they’ve done in the past 5+ years out of the water
THIS is what I want from Machine Head. THIS is top fucking notch. Insane musicianship, great poetic lyrics, killer melody’s, and it’s fucking heavy. If we get an album that’s anything like these new songs, it’s going to be a classic Machine Head record. Sorry for ever doubting

A lot of Locust / Bloodstone vibes in this track - and that’s certainly a good thing!
Those are my two favourite albums of theirs, and theyre 4 and 5 in my top 5 favourite albums of all time, so this song is so fucking good!

It was the first time I felt my other ear wiggling to get some. Still great music. Can't say I miss the days of leaving the cassette under the seat out of the sun (then forgetting that once).

These 3 tracks are living rentless in my head, 24/7. And I am not complaining at all. Quite the contrary. Nothing short of metal masterpieces and hands down 3 of Machine Head's best songs ever. Become the Firestorm - epic like Halo, Rotten - powerful and relentless from start to finish and Arrows in Words from the Sky - Hauntingly beautiful and an instant classic. Man, Machine Head is back big time and I have tears of joy in my eyes.
I see Machine Head, I click. But holy shit...wow!! I love that Robb and the gang ALWAYS continue to push the envelope musically and artistically. Whether people get it or not, they continue to fearlessly traverse new territory. Also love Jared's expanding vocal presence...awesome stuff!!

Me and my band opened up for machine head back in 96 and they kicked ass and sounded solid . I was 17 when I opened up for them but Rob was real cool to us and it was one of my best shows I ever played but machine head had better amps than we had at the time . But I knew they would go far with it and im glad to see that they still doing what they do . To bad Logan left the band early because he was a badass guitarist and he had a killer Gibson flying V that was just fuckin sick .

These new songs are beyond everything MH have ever done, in my humble opinion. I must admit that I somehow had lost faith in this band but Robert proved me wrong. I cannot praise enough the high level of musicianship, from singing abilities to the genius background vocal lines, from creative song structures and ultimately the enormous thrashin' power!! One thing I need to address directly to Robb as a huge MH fan from the very beginning : Pantera has "Cemetary gates" , MH has "Arrows in words.." these melodies, man, they're killing me. This song is an instant classic.
God damn this is dope. It has taken me a few lessons to warm to the EP, but its clicking with my brain now and I can't stop listening to all 3 tracks. Arrows in Words Grom the Sky is a standout different track that just worked from the get go. Well done 👏
