  • From the conflicts in Iraq and Syria to the tension between Iran and Saudi Arabia, the struggle between Sunni and Shi‘a groups for hegemony is tearing apart the region and shows no signs of abating. But for all the religious discourse permeating the conflict, much of its roots are political, not religious.
How does sectarianism fit into a larger narrative of the Middle East? How have governments manipulated sectarian differences? And finally, what is the U.S. doing about it?

I am in a German language class with 22 others 14 of whom are Syrians, half are women and 4 of them are Christian, they had no problems in Syria, all the Syrians would go back if there was peace they miss their country. One of them a 24 year old young man was severely injured by a barrel bomb in Aleppo and ended up permanently in a wheelchair. I have seen photos of his injuries they made me physically sick and also made me cry. He is a real comedian and always smiling I call him my little brother,. He still faces many more operations. They are all desperate to pass the exam today so they can get jobs. They want to work and pay their way. They don't care about who is Sunni or Shiite or Christian they just want to get on with their lives.

I thought that it was a good video that tells differences, but video is all about political. Anyways, i believe that 99% of muslims have been blaming Israel, America and some Western countries about creating conflict between muslims. They haven't done anything, but they used this conflict to creat chaos between muslims. Islam had already been divided while prophet Mohamed was sick. Some Arab tribes claimed that their chief must have been the new prophet, some tribes left Islamic ideas etc. Somehow, 4 khalifas stabilized the order, but when Moaviye killed Hasan who was grandson of Mohamed, started conflict between muslim. King Moviye converted Islam to his advantage. He made up hundreds of hadises. Followers of Ali refused them. Since then, there's no peace in the Middle East. CIA,MOSSAD didn't start the war

The Qur'an says: وَلَا تَبْخَسُوا النَّاسَ أَشْيَاءَهُمْ وَلَا تَعْثَوْا فِي الْأَرْضِ مُفْسِدِينَ: And do not neglect the rights of the people and do not corrupt the land "
The comprehensive and general principle is that whether in the national and local context, ie within the Islamic realm, in the regional realm, ie within the realm of monotheism with the People of the Book and the atheists, or in the international realm with human society, whether infidels, pagans or non-idolaters. In all three sections he said: " And do not neglect the rights of the people and do not corrupt the land ".This is also one of the comprehensive principles

At 1:40 it is said, "who should wield authority after the prophets death?" I might be an atheist but if I were a Muslim & asked that question, I would say God. I find it strange that its the cause for so much hate & violence between the two groups. As far as I know, neither Christianity nor Judaism bear a supreme leader of the religion. The Pope is the closest thing to one for Christianity but, in reality, he's only responsible for Catholicism. I was baptized a Methodist but there's no way in hell I could've ever see myself killing Lutherans for reasons similar to why the Sunni & Shi'a are.

    • @darkregions
      @darkregions 8 ปีที่แล้ว +25

Well you're right and wrong here and I'll elaborate why. Shi'a theology stands on that a fallible cannot make laws on behalf of God or execute judicial laws without an authority from God: as such, the shi'a theology is based on pledging allegiance to those thought to be and believed to be infallible from the bloodline of the prophet, the 12 leaders that descend from Mohamed's bloodline through his only daughter Fatima and through his son in law and first successor Ali.
The sunnis follow and pledge their respect to the selection process that Mohamed's companions underwent in a state when the nation was busy with burials of the prophet and therefore the selection process was done in the dark and secretly among a selected few that took upon themselves to decide the fate of the faith. They hold the view that neither God or his prophet thought about who is to lead the nation after the prophet passes away. A view vehemently rejected by the shi'as and consider the actions of the so-called companions as nothing less than treason. Why does this matter and what are the implications for that today?
Shi'as historically and until today followed a system that extracted the foundations, legislations, and jurisprudence of the faith from the 12 successors despite the sunni majority taking power forcefully, and this the shi'as regardless of the power seize by the sunnis, kept to their instructions of following only the infallibles. Whereas, sunnis followed the faith of the King (khalifa), and the khalifa appointed students of faith who decided what is right or wrong and this created endless new creeds being born, some of which later on gave rise to the theology that some brands such as Al-qaeda and ISIS follow.
You see historical aspects can make a huge difference on out times.
History mentions that the ruling khalifs who enjoyed the support of the majority of the populace, whether by means of the sword or the word, fell into conflict with the infallible shi'as leaders because they represented a direct threat to their rulership and governance as they enjoyed the support and devotion of a large sector of a population in the heart of the early Islamic lands... and this lead to persecution of shi'as and shi'a imams throughout the times pushing both sides further away from each other in addition to the pre-existing differences that make them almost completely different faiths to one another.
Shi'as today are facing mass murders and genocide almost everywhere they are in because some extreme elements or more accurately, more literalist fundamentalist sunnis adopt the view that killing shi'as is an Islamic duty since they are a group that left the ranks of the majority and some of their religious practices falls in their categories of people who became kaffir such as the concept of intercessions or visiting the shrines of their imams.
It's a topic that I can talk about in length but I'd rather not because writing thousands of words would probably tire both of us.

Prophet of Islam left a successor after his last Hajj. But Sunnis did not follow prophet's order and form a shura didn't even attend funeral of Prophet. The one prophet appointed Ali Ibn Abi Talib was busy in burying prophet Muhammad. Shura took advantage of this and appointed Abu Bakar as a caliph. Imam Ali kept quite and did not ask for his right to save Ummah. Followers of Imam Ali and companions of Prophet Muhammed were killed by these self imposed caliphs. Thus the people who listen to prophet's advise start following Imam Ali and rest were prosecuted by caliphs or exiled. But the followers of Prophet and Imam Ali stayed on sunnah of Prophet.
Things became so complicated that Islam was slaughtered but not by Imam Ali because he never rise for his right.
So this is where we're today.

He shall be a wild man; His hand against everyone, And everyone’s hand against him; He shall dwell alongside of all his kinsmen.” Ishmael's descendants are just like him fighting with everyone and amongst themselves.

Has the question ever been put to the two leaders of sunny and shia reglion. If both sides want peace forever they have to the step into brave man's land and answer the awkward questions honestly. A simple question to each leader , the question, what does each want from the other.

2: 154. *you don’t say about the one who is killed in the way of Lord Allah as: “They are dead!”; nay, they are living even though you perceive it not.*
The battle of Bad’r was taken place to realize whether the Truth is with the believers or disbelievers as told in verses 8: 19 and 41. The battle of Uhud was taken place to identify the hypocrites and the believers among the Messenger’s followers as told in verses 3: 166-167. This verse is revealed as a reply to the sayings of hypocrites about the martyrs: “If they had obeyed us and had kept away from the battle, they would not have been killed”. The aimless hypocrites are thinking and propagating that by death, everything is finished. They are knowingly hiding the Criterion and Balance Adhikr with which one can identify the believer and the disbeliever. The hypocrites are those who have the body without the soul as told in verse 9: 55 and 63: 4. They will enter the Fire even without the Trial as told in verse 4: 145.
It is told about martyrs in the way of the Lord in verses 3: 169-170 as: “You shouldn’t reckon those believers who are killed in the way of the Lord as dead. Nay, they are living near their Lord enjoying their sustenance, rejoicing with whatever the Lord has bestowed from His Bounty, and heralding with those left behind who have not yet joined with them that no need to fear upon them and for them will not be grieved”.
Today, as Adhikr is codified as the Best Interpretation of Lord’s Book as told in verse 25: 33, and as there is no group of believers anywhere in the world, there is no Jihad with weapons. The odd believer should do Jihad with Adhikr against the hypocrites and Kuffar testifying verses 9: 73; 25: 52 and 66: 9. Through verse 14: 30 the believer is ordered to say to the Arabic Quran reading Fujjar who reject Adhikr: “You enjoy here a little; indeed, your returning is into the Fire”. The odd believer who holdfasts Adhikr, he did holdfast Lord and is guided into the Straightpath as explained in verse 5: 48. So the odd believer of these days will have more dignity than believers of the Messenger's period. See explanation 2: 3, 9-12, and 94-96.

The division created by Britain and France of Arabia also divided the people and by doing so also did injustice to the peoples of the divided/mandated Arabia by favoring one and disfavouring another. When the divided peoples saw this and actually started to absorb this that their neighbours who were equal with them once are now becoming more privileged than the other started to differentiate/discriminate themselves from the other.
At this point, the peoples of the lesser privileged divisions suddenly begat a need to become better because the white people had started to favour/disfavour peoples of the same sect that have had mutuality before the mandation, needed someone worthy to lead them. Thus the peoples started to strategize a course where they appointed their leaders. Thus caused an awareness in the western stance and they started to counter it of which we see results today! A good example is USA support for Iraq against Iran. The same strategy had been used today-Muslims of a favored Arabian nation is set against a unfavoured Arabian nation(s). These are the ones that are of
    'Axis Of Evil'.
If this matter is concluded than this ridiculing stand for democracy by the concerned western nations for their personal interests in a foreign country should be clarified in the minds of the peoples whose lives are affected by this!
The stand for democracy is just a faked reason (s) to implement their own idealisms on a peoples nations that they are still trying/starting to understand and have to, yet.

From the start of the video the information are bullshit, Shitte came after the death of Hussein bin Ali not the prophet PBUH and they where regarded as repels at the time (khawaridj) then the 12 Imams story starts, which Sunnis respect all of them from Ali (رضي الله عنه)until the last one because they are the prophet descendants. Long story short:
    - It didn’t started after the death of the prophet PBUH, it started later, and took the frame of today because of the Safavids dynasty era and the 1979 Iranian revolution.
-Shiite are the one blaming and reviling prophet wives, companions and every Sunni, even the ones how didn’t fight at that time and the Sunnis of this day!
    - “some” Shiite believe in things that not logical and forbidden practices can be explained by just to form an independent identity outside of the surrounding Sunnis, because otherwise if the differences is only on whom to rule not about the afterlife it will be short lived struggle, also because the source of Islamic theology is the prophet’s companions which are the ones that cause all this Calvary (as some Shiite believe) not the stupid need for power and following family blindly, examples like: praying to tombs, infallibility of the Wali and Imams, and that the 12th Imam is still missing but alive!
-Both Sunni and Shiite believe that Jesus PBUH will descend down from heaven to fight along Mahdi in Armageddon
-IT IS PURELY POLITICAL, surly 2003 breaks hell loose.
There are many sects inside Sunni grand-sect and Shiite grand-sect and they differ as if they are different religion all together, think of it as spectrum of sects inside Islam, some CANNOT be considered Muslims even if they claim that and some are tolerable.

Islam is more of gaining political power using religion rather than spiritual seeking. Religion can teach morality but it can never teach spirituality. Spiritually is humanity, it does not need religion or even God.

This statement of yours is due to the psychological warfare of your politicians. The President of France insulted the Prophet of Islam, peace be upon him and his family, and we opposed it. We, the Muslims, consider Jesus Christ (peace be upon him) as the helper of Hazrat Mahdi (as) and we love him and we are happy with the Christians in Christmas. We consider Hazrat Nosiyyah as the great prophet of God and we teach the story of this divine prophet to our children and adolescents. Be sure to see Ayatollah Khamenei's letter to the youth of the West, which shows the true face of Islam.

Where does it say in the Bible Muhammed is the final prophet? Muslims are told to ask the Jews and Christians for truth. I've seen Jesus Christ. I know He's the Son of God.
The Old Testament says Elijah is the final prophet. The New Testament speaks of the spirit of Elijah through John The Baptist. The spirit of Elijah acknowledges and glorifies the Messiah (Jesus Christ).
In the Old Testament (Malachi 4:5-6) Elijah will return in the End Times. And by Jewish law all matters are settled by the testimony of two or three witnesses.
In the New Testament (revelation 11:3) God appoints His Two Witnesses to prophesy for 3 1/2 years. When Elijah walked the earth he stopped the rain from pouring down on Israel for 3 1/2 years, because King Ahab refused to listen to the God of Israel.
If we compile all the information from the Bible, the Two Witnesses will have the spirit of Elijah and Moses. These are the final prophets. Not Muhammed.
Through some of the scripture, we can see that Islam and the Quran are false. This is based off Jewish laws in the Old Testament.
I don't want anyone to perish because of Muhammed's lies. True worship belongs to my Father alone. Muslims worship the wrong God. Jews refuse to recognize and worship the Messiah.
Jesus Christ is the Only Way. He is the only mediator between God and man. He is the Savior of the world. He loves and cares for all people. He will return to judge the earth.
    Matthew 17:10-13
10The disciples asked him, “Why then do the teachers of the law say that Elijah must come first?”
11Jesus replied, “To be sure, Elijah comes and will restore all things. 12But I tell you, Elijah has already come, and they did not recognize him, but have done to him everything they wished. In the same way the Son of Man is going to suffer at their hands.” 13Then the disciples understood that he was talking to them about John the Baptist.
    John 1:21
They asked him, “Then who are you? Are you Elijah?” He said, “I am not.” “Are you the Prophet?” He answered, “No.”
    1 Kings 17:1
Now Elijah the Tishbite, from Tishbe in Gilead, said to Ahab, “As the LORD, the God of Israel, lives, whom I serve, there will be neither dew nor rain in the next few years except at my word.”
    James 5:17
Elijah was a human being, even as we are. He prayed earnestly that it would not rain, and it did not rain on the land for three and a half years.
    Deuteronomy 19:15
“One witness shall not rise up against a man for any iniquity, or for any sin, in any sin that he sinneth: at the mouth of two witnesses, or at the mouth of three witnesses, shall the matter be established.”
    2 Corinthians 13:1
This will be my third visit to you. “Every matter must be established by the testimony of two or three witnesses.”
    Revelation 11:3-6
3And I will appoint my two witnesses, and they will prophesy for 1,260 days, clothed in sackcloth.” 4They are “the two olive trees” and the two lampstands, and “they stand before the Lord of the earth.” a 5If anyone tries to harm them, fire comes from their mouths and devours their enemies. This is how anyone who wants to harm them must die. 6They have power to shut up the heavens so that it will not rain during the time they are prophesying; and they have power to turn the waters into blood and to strike the earth with every kind of plague as often as they want.
    Malachi 4:5-6
5 Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord: 6 And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse.
    Daniel 7:13-14
"In my vision at night I looked, and there before me was one like a son of man, coming with the clouds of heaven. He approached the Ancient of Days and was led into his presence. He was given authority, glory and sovereign power; all peoples, nations and men of every language worshiped him.
    Matthew 1:23
"Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel," which is translated, "God with us."
    Matthew 28:18-20
18And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. 19Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: 20teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
    1John 5:1-5
1 Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God, and everyone who loves the father loves his child as well. 2 This is how we know that we love the children of God: by loving God and carrying out his commands. 3 In fact, this is love for God: to keep his commands. And his commands are not burdensome, 4 for everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith. 5 Who is it that overcomes the world? Only the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God.
    John 5:25-27
25Very truly I tell you, a time is coming and has now come when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God and those who hear will live. 26For as the Father has life in himself, so he has granted the Son also to have life in himself. 27And he has given him authority to judge because he is the Son of Man.
    Matthew 25:31
31 “When the Son of Man comes in his glory and all his angels are with him, he will sit on his glorious throne. 32 The people of every nation will be gathered in front of him. He will separate them as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. 33 He will put the sheep on his right but the goats on his left.
    Acts 17:31
For he has set a day when he will judge the world with justice by the man he has appointed. He has given proof of this to everyone by raising him from the dead.”
    Matthew 16:27
For the Son of Man will come in the glory of His Father with His angels, and then He will reward each according to his works
    John 3:16
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.
    John 20:26-29
26A week later his disciples were in the house again, and Thomas was with them. Though the doors were locked, Jesus came and stood among them and said, “Peace be with you!” 27Then he said to Thomas, “Put your finger here; see my hands. Reach out your hand and put it into my side. Stop doubting and believe.”
28Thomas said to him, “My Lord and my God!”
29Then Jesus told him, “Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”
    Psalm 98:9
let them sing before the LORD, for he comes to judge the earth. He will judge the world in righteousness and the peoples with equity.
    Revelation 1:8
8 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.

      For warm up:
ALLAH IN ARAMAIC = ܐܠܗܗ = ALAHH ALLAH IN ARABIC = الله = ALLAH
The only difference between pronouncing these two is that there is no emphasis on L in its Aramaic form.
If Christians google “ܐܠܗܗ” , they will see a bunch of biblical websites. “ܐܠܗܗ” is translated as "GOD".
      Psalm 145/3
3-4 Revised T: "Great Yahweh and to be praised greatly, and for His great Allah not a searching".
      וְ֝לִגְדֻלָּתֹ֗ו = Great Allah
      Now let's start:
      יְשׁוּעָֽה = YESHUA = JESUS
      Isaiah 12/2 & 3
2-4 Revised T: "Behold, I will trust God (of) my Jesus and not I shall be afraid, for the Lord Yahweh (is) my strength and song, and He was to me (and) to Jesus".
3-4 Revised T: "And ye shall draw water with joy out of the spring (of) the Jesus".
If what are just revealed to you could warm you up, so we can continue.
Ready for the next part? NO !
Mr. Adrian, I think it's better to let the facts stay hidden.
