- For the first time in over 30 years, the tophat-toting guitarist of Guns N’ Roses fame has collaborated with a new amplifier company-Magnatone-to create the Slash Signature SL-100 amplifier! Co-designed with longtime Magnatone engineer and amp guru Obeid Khan, the Magnatone SL-100 Slash Signature 100-watt amplifier is voiced loosely on the Magnatone Super Fifty-Nine M-80 design that Slash began using during the Guns N Roses 2023 World Tour. It was developed with Slash to meet the needs of his identifiable and unique style and tone, taking it to the next level with the monstrous tone, gain, and headroom Slash requires! Hear how it sounds with the whole CME House Band!

DID YOU KNOW?
Magnatone amplifiers began in the late 1930s as the Dickerson Musical Instrument Company founded by Delbert J. Dickerson in southern California. Beginning in the late 1930s, Magna Electronics was known as Dickerson Musical Instrument Manufacturing Company and produced amplifiers, Hawaiian and steel guitars. In the 1940s, Gaston Fator Guitar Studios in Los Angeles bought the business from Dickerson. Fator owned it for a few years, and then sold it to Art Duhamell around 1946, who changed the name to Magnatone. In the 1950s and 1960s, the company produced vibrato-equipped amplifiers which were used by musicians including Buddy Holly[4] and Lonnie Mack. The 'real' vibrato effect called F.M. Vibrato was distinct in sound and design from the more common tremolo circuits found on Fender amplifiers. In the hands of its new owner, Art Duhamell, the amplifier and guitar brand name was changed to Magnatone, and the company name was Magna Electronics Company. Duhamell built Magnatones alongside record players, radios, and speakers. By 1950, Magna expanded from their Jefferson Boulevard, Los Angeles location with three new buildings at 9749 S. Freeman Ave. and employed more than twenty-five employees. Paul Bigsby designed solid-body guitars for Magnatone from 1955-1957. Pioneering blues-rock guitar soloist Lonnie Mack used Magnatone vibrato amps almost exclusively A Magnatone amp was also the basis of the signature guitar sound of Robert Ward. They are still used today by musicians including Neil Young, who uses a 280 Stereo in his live rig.

NEW VIDEOS EVERY WEEK!!
I’ll wait to hear what others say before dishing this kind of coin. It better be the best amp ever for that money.
Did NOT expect to hear that voice when the guy started singing! Great cover and great amp
You too? Lol.
I think that is Axl Rose
@@BSPotter Lol you're a clown
You guys sound better than the current GnR line up lol the amp sounds dope btw
Hell yeaaaaaa! Thanks for watching!!
That’s what I was thinking. Good job guys 👍🥃
Damn! The singer sound more like Axl Rose then Axl Rose does in 2024. Great video!
Totally agree - close your eyes and you are back to 1988 "Live at the Ritz".
Jesus you guys sound way better than actual GnR in recent times - amazing vocals too!
That guy on the vocals nailed it! And the rest of the band too. That amp does sound good and bet it costs a pretty penny. But who can put a price on good tone?
WOW. Like.... the amp sounds great... but that dudes VOICE!!!!!! Incredible.
Phenomenal vocal! Great band too.;-)
Awesome band and killer singer
This might be the best amp demo done by anyone, ever.
The "you could be mine" solo just bliw my head away!!! Insane!!!!🎉
Wow this guy is a better Axl than Axl
The best Magnatone is the Magnatone made to sound like a Marshall! LOL
Damn! You guys killed it! Excellent playing all around
Thank you! 🤘
Sounding great guys.
Fantastic! Thanks, that was awesome!
Sounds and looks awesome. The amp Marshall should be making
Just received my SL-100 head today and it sounds great, no regrets at all
And the gain?
Someone please buy this and do some Kemper and Tonex captures for poor MF'ers like me?
Wish I could sing like that!
Am I the only one who doesn’t think it sounds all that great? :)
The price alone is a joke
It’s his new tone. The amp I think was made to inspire new work from Slash. I just wish Marshall would make him a high gain metal amp. Come on Slash do a Metal album
Dang! What a cover! Loved it 🤘🏻
That was so good!!!!
I don't know what I'm more impressed with -- the guitar tone or the lead singer CRUSHING the vocals. Holy F!
So good! Only thing missing was the snake dance
That was terrific 👍🏻
When's the tour? I'm in!
Best Axl Rose ever.
Cool. Now please bring back the 5 watt SL-5C combo for us mere mortals. Also @8:14 dude be talking about paying attention to Slash’s isolated tracks then they play Civil War. Nailed it!
You are f......g amazing.
This shows that the amp is just as important if not more important than the guitar. Because an old 59 sounded just like slash without his custom SD pickups
AMAZING!!
that voice is amazing! Wowser!
Amazing demo! Who was the band members? Who is that vocalist???
That's our guy Pat! He's in a band called Hazard - facebook.com/p/Hazard-Chicago-100063574646409/
Killer amps too. They look so much better in person. Lucky enough to see a couple.
holy fuck you guys sound good. Great cover!
That solo at 13:20… killer
Wow great video great playing and what a voice jesus
Well that's a first, Celestion Vintage 30s being described as ' very warm' ... punchy, mid forward and with a tight bass maybe, and they actually have quite a harsh top end when pushed. Don't they?
They can sound harsh yes, specifically when not broken in yet. And depends on the amp driving them. I'm using a 1 x 12 cab with a Vintage 30 in in for gigs. Sounds balanced. But it's a very well worn in speaker
Magna Voice! I don’t know about that amp….! Homie nailed those vocals.
Finally, Axl accepted the loss of his hair. Phenomenal vocals!!!
Awesome cover! Dude has Axel's sound down!
Gotta love David Aziziani❤
Who's the singer? What band is this? Are you guys touring doing GNR covers?? Id go see you EVERY TIME you're in town!!
That’s Pat on vocals! He’s in a band called Hazard
facebook.com/p/Hazard-Chicago-100063574646409
@@chicagomusicexchange Followed! They could do a GNR Cover show and kill it!
Holy crap what a phenomenal cover! And the singer sounds a mix between axl and bruce dickinson!
Ya'll just woke up that day and texted each other "hey best bud do you wanna dress in-sync today!" lol . Great sound on that, sounds like the album almost.
Love the video. That said, despite a world class player doing the demo, there's nothing I heard here that would lead me towards this amp, at even 1/2 the price. Different strokes as they say and that's OK!
Nathaniel sounds more slashing than Slash 😅
Incredible vocals (although I´m here for the amp^^)!!! 😍
Can someone tell me the name of the “Solo playing clean 1” please?
Pls upload the full gnr songs. Thx
The full performances will be released as Full Band Fridays soon! 🤘🤘
the singer is epic!
Amp looks and sounds great, only what one expect from Magnatone. Unfortunately not quite seeing any difference to a good Marshall or the need for 100 Watt. For $7500, expensive for just pure rock, a JCM800 would probably suffice. I have both Marshall AFD and JCMSlash, but tend to use my Two Rock Bloomfield Drive more. As is widely known Marshall are great Amps when turned up loud, even with Master Volume they must still be Loud, I hope the Magnatone produces the goods at a low volume, if not, back to Two Rock, as they produce the goods at low volume. Who knows maybe a Maganatone SL100 gets added to the stable, but I'm guessing without a roadie and joining a G'N'R cover band, I guess not.
I also have AFD100, both models (signed and no), I love the amp!!! It’s my choose to gig with my GNR cover band. But one thing make me think to have this Magnatone: the 2 independent gains, so to have a clean switchable. But….. a friend of mine play it at NAMM, and said the gain isn’t enough. Btw Slash is using a TS808 to boost it in his tour. So, I’m still not convinced to buy, even being a huge collector.
Gotta be honest wasn't expecting to hear that voice come out of him, but it was great, you guys rock, amazing amp too ✌️
Nathaniel looking for the vibrato bar at 1:07 ❤
Time to replace Axl with this guy
In the jam there was zero beefiness ?? @Sollazon video shows that it can be very beefy but not tubby
We'll turn up the beef next time
Ahhh you cut the performance just before my favourite part! "LOADED LIKE A FREIGHT TRAIN! FLYING LIKE AN AEROPLANE....." Killer rendition though.
The full performances will come out soon as a one of our Full Band Fridays! Keep an eye out!
In the middle we can hear the amp with no pedals. Looks like not a hi-gain amp, like JCM800.
Dads n Roses can rock! The thumbnail prepared me for cringe, but the cover was great.
Great Amp can you make it sound like anything other than Slash
I thought the Richard Fortis rig setup sounded way better
you gotta get Copyright claims for that cover! Well done 🔥
Thank you!! Yeah the ads on this one go straight to the band lol
@@chicagomusicexchange Not fair at all. YT needs to sort it out so covers aren't claimed.
Yet another signature ca$h grab off of fanboys lol
Sort of but not really. Slash still performs and I think this was initially created for his need for the best sound. Then they are turning around that hard work to sell the results to the public. I think of a cash grab as a product originally designed to please the customer and is never actually used by the pro in real life.
Dang, the SL 100 got lost in the mix on the Slash solo of the Nightrain rendition.
Killer playing but BLUES LAWYER prices to play WORKING CLASS ROCK N ROLL????
turn up the solo in the mix
Not so impressed - so Magnatone built a Marshall. It sounds exactly like a Marshall. Woah…
I do not see the difference in tone w a Marshall or the Slash JCM 800 I own. Appreciate the demo, but this amp is overpriced.
Definitely for pro players at the price point. Good amp though.
Price point aside, what non-pro needs a 100 watt head and a 4x12 cab?
@@BonesDT Me
Assessment: Waste of Ammo
bullshit amp......another marshall super expensive....but not made by marshall....make no sense to me....
vocals on point... amp doesn't fit slash tone.. too splatty and lacks the right high mids
That was impressive.
Holy shit that cover was unbelievable!
One bad mother.
