    Great looking E-bike isn't it, so many times I want to ride up to my local shops on my e-bike, but it's either too windy & cold or raining, not to mention can't carry much while riding, this would be a great alternative to driving my car every day just to go to the shops. By the way, in case you are wondering yes it does have reverse, just pedal backwards.

    Veemo has come out with a semi enclosed version called the Veemo SE, that is supposedly for sale. I say "supposedly" because it is a $250 deposit to pre-order one, which I did. I naively thought this was a legitimate company, but sadly I was wrong. They never acknowledge your deposit, they give no information as to when you might get one, no information as to whether they are actually producing them and they do not answer e-mails. It appears this is just a scam, nothing more. So lesson learned, I probably lost $250. It is so sad, because it looked like this would have been a great velomobile.

    Wouldnt it be great if you could somehow peddle recharge the motor?

    • @michaelberna4836
      @michaelberna4836 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sorry to burst your bubble, but realistically speaking, because of friction, electrical, and heat losses, you are better off using the pedal power directly to move the vehicle instead of having the motor as a middle-man. This may make sense downhill after you reach your maximum pedaling speed, but otherwise, you lose energy doing it this way and have to pedal harder for the same amount of speed/work on the vehicle. I don't know if it has regenerative braking, but that would be the most feasible and it is "free" energy at that point because it would otherwise be converted to heat by the brake pads which doesn't help us at all.

    • @jimj2683
      @jimj2683 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@michaelberna4836 Wrong. It is legal for the battery to step in and fill out the power you lose. So it will feel like you have 100% efficiency when you pedal. Your pedaling power is only a tiny fraction of the actual helping power from the ebike motors anyway. And carrying 4lbs extra battery in a total system weight of 400lbs means nothing. The advantages of a serial hybrid far outweigh any disadvantages.

    • @michaelberna4836
      @michaelberna4836 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jimj2683 Let me clarify. I do not think by any means that this is illegal. What I am referring to is the efficiency of series hybrid vs parallel hybrid. Charging via pedaling would be a series hybrid. This is less efficient. A parallel hybrid would have an overruning clutch just like the ratcheting mechanism on your rear cassette so that it will have nearly zero drag when the motor is not operating. The motor would be able to kick in and help, but it would not apply a constant drag. To charge it, it would charge via regenerative braking or via a plug-in. This is how almost all modern e-bikes with pedal assist operate.

    • @jimj2683
      @jimj2683 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@michaelberna4836 You should try a series hybrid like the Podbike Frikar. It is much better than you think. You are never going to ride without a battery anyway, so that is not a problem.

    • @michaelberna4836
      @michaelberna4836 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jimj2683 Not factoring in wiring or battery charging losses, an efficient brushless motor is 85-90%. From a physics standpoint, you lose 10% energy best-case scenario. Basically, you're losing a mile to a mile and a half every 10 miles.

Last year 12,487 people were killed in an accident involving the bird and lime bikes and scooters last year like paid a 1.8 million dollar settlement to a family who sued the company over safety precautions later the company limited the speed it can go on certain paths and road ways beings this is shelled in like a motor vehicle more people will be most likely to take it on the road but bars stay open until 4 a.m and closing time in a major outlet or city is a prime rush put a 300+ pound vehicle traveling at 30mph and a pedestrian on a sidewalk not able to see the vehicle moving toward them steps out and gets hit because scooters and bikes are easy to jump off you can prevent more issues but a full enclosed vehicle/bike is carrying enough inertia to impact someone with serious or even fatal injury to the individual struck. Like my bmw m4 has a warning system of me backing into a vehicle when the bar lights red and my car screams for too long if I attempt to gas the brakes will auto lock until I’ve placed it into drive and moved away from a point of impact

      @@jamestucker3415 I get what you are saying, but you cannot prevent people from using a product beyond what was originally intended, have you seen those mototrbike riders in india and malaysia that carry truck loads of products on a small 2 wheel bike, the company never made that bike with this intention of a huge load of stuff on it, but people will always find a way to use a product outside it's original intended use.
      it's one of the reasons why companies put warning lables on items that seem stupid to you and I, but is necessary for others, such as do not use hair dryer while in a bath, do not iron clothes while wearing them.
      People will ALWAYS find a way to push the boundaries of stupid, and when they live in a free country like America are free to sue that company for not protecting them from their stupidity. That is why you see so many cool products become lame over time, because companies have to protect people from themselves.

    Wouldn't it be much better maneuverability if the one wheel was in the front and two in the back. That's how they make sport strollers.

      Why can't it go uphill? That depends on the power of the rider. A headwind would be an issue even if you didn't have the hard shell.

      I find it hard to believe it can't ride up hills, I have an e-bike and every hill size is like riding on flat terrain it' so easy to ride an e-bike.
      the headwinds issue, I have no idea, but i could understand a heavy enough wind may cause some problems because of it's design may act like a Sail on a boat and slow it down

    • @WonderWorldYTC

      ah I see what you mean, but a bicycle like this would probably not work in the snow & ice anyway, small wheels with small tyre contact points on the road would give no grip.

      @@WonderWorldYTC I think you would be surprised by how many people ride bicycles despite snow and ice. I rarely ride when the temperature is below 22 degrees F, but others do it regularly. I would think that the enclosed cab and three wheels would be a huge incentive to ride/drive one of these through most of the winter.

      Sadly yes.. this is where these companies let ya down because if ur at a stage where its 2k for an enclosed bike then u may aswel pay that for a car an have the extra freedom and options that come with a car.. i find it very sad because alot of people including myself would gladly save up 500 quid to be able to stay active an healthy using the bike while not getting dirty or being cold... this ebike would be completely perfect for me but sadly if they started selling them to public i have no doubt that they would slap a silly price on them like thousands..
