I took my 7 year old son to see the Guero tour . . . . he performed at the AZ State Fair, of all places. Great time, and that show was I N C R E D I B L E

We were on the left or right so we could see what was happening most of the time (except when he was rotated facing away from us during the blue and red panel part) and there were maybe half a dozen monitors so we could see what the final product was going to look like. A super cool experience and Beck and his whole band/crew were so charming !
I stopped thinking that at Midnight Vulture. Since that one each new beck album is him not getting it back to me. The one with Charlotte Gainsbourg was nice though.
Grégory Makles check out the information. I used to think the same, I’ve never cared for Guero, sea change, modern guilt, or anything he’s done recently, but I love the information (not as much as Midnite vultures but still). Only thing post MV worth getting into imo.
The thing about Beck he can bend and blend so well in and out of so many genres and sounds that his fan base can totally not feel some of his albums. So I totally get it. He's a constant transformer.

I like all of the genres and styles he taps into, I just think the end product is shit. He’s just lost his consistent quality that he kept up with until Midnite cultures, it gets very spotty after that album.
My favorite album was Odelay. But for me he's always had at least something in just about every album that's grabbed my attention. I love how he worked with Pharrell in Hyperspace. He's dope too.

Completely unique from other artists. This never gets old. Not to mention almost aging in reverse. This is like 1997 all over again. Nah, this album is more vaporwave than "girly pop." Pretty much the only genre he hasn't done yet is metal, and I'd love to hear him try and do Metallica's "The Unforgiven."

Beck is truly amazing, and I am obsessed, as of just recently. Somehow, I started dreaming about his songs, a few months before this recording came out. Nice timing - great to get new music when you are thinking about an artist. I saw Beck in 2005, the Guero tour with my 10 year old son, at Veterans Memorial in Phoenix during the state fair, in October. My son and I enjoyed a unique experience, as seeing Beck live was just incredible. I can only say this about a few artists I have seen live, over the course of my 55 years. Beck is something very special - like seeing Bowie and Eno, at the same time. This live performance is a tribute to how amazing he was live back then at the Guero tour - and I will never forget it. I cannot wait to see him again live - hope he does a back to back tour to cover Hyperspace, as he is touring with Cage the Elephants currently, and scheduled to finish before the end of this year. This record needs a tour, too!!!!!
Beck's continual innovation and his knack for writing beautiful, relatable lyrics that rip at your heart make him one of the best songwriters and performers ever. Loved him since the beginning in the early 90s. This song makes me sad. Clearly seems to document the end of his marriage, which was finalized about a year after this song came out.

I absolutely adore this song, and particularly this performance. Hyperspace is such a great album (I especially like Chemical). I never appreciated Beck in his early days, but now I’m starting to realise what I missed all those years ago. Hell, even my 5 year old daughter loves this track and we often listen to it in the car. I love the use of the old FM synths in this like the DX7. They work so well in the context of this song. Great stuff.
His natural voice when singing (as in no technology involved to enhance/advance it) is very soothing and pleasant to listen to. True and authentic talent right there. Hats off Beck. 🎩😎👌
A pristine original performance as perfect as anything you could do in a studio with all the tricks there. BUT... this was live TV???. So much went into this; how does he even think it up? At least a dozen different story elements woven into a magic carpet ride that all hit home and laid me bare wanting more. What a beautiful mind and soul.
I’m not a hardcore Beck fan, but I was on a flight to Japan, bored so I wanted to listen to music but not sure what I would discover. hence this hyperspace album, from start to finish, always on repeat! The vibe, the atmosphere, ambience, retro influences.. and found out pharrell was also behind the masterpiece!
Damn... as a mega-huge Jellyfish fan, I love nothing more than watching Beck videos like this and seeing Roger Joseph Manning, Jr. and Jason Falkner in Beck's band. He was very wise to bring them into his band. They are incredible and 50% of one of the best bands since 1989. (For those who don't know what I'm talking about, his keyboard player Roger Joseph Manning, Jr. and his guitarist Jason Falkner were 50% of one of the best poppy rock acts of 1990. The band is called "Jellyfish" and their debut album, as well as the followup (which did not include Jason Falkner, unfortunately) were un-be-lievable. I encourage anyone who has never heard of them to instantly listen to the full albums from Jellyfish in-order, in-sequence, without skipping. ♡
