  • The Quechua Ultim Comfort is a super comfortable Self Inflating Camping Mattress / sleeping pad from Decathlon.
    Important spec is the R8.6 value which means you can use it in really really cold winter conditions.
    It's a proper 4 season sleeping mat.
    IMPORTANT: The size is comfortable as well: 200 x 70 x 8 cm. This is the sleeping area.
    The ACTUAL width is +/- 73,5cm. So you won't be able to fit two of these pads into a tent that's 140cm wide.
    Comparing this to an "air-only" 10cm sleeping mat - this one feels thicker and you notice that in the tent as well!
    Looking at the product's detail page, it has a 4.48 out of 5 reviews, based on 243 reviews.
    There's nothing bad to say about the comfort, only disadvantage can be the weight and pack size.
    In the upcoming video, there will be smaller, but similar sleeping pads so stay tuned!

    You Legend Rob - I was looking at two of these for my camper - UNTIL I saw this: The ACTUAL width is +/- 73,5cm. This means that they will be too wide for the bed space so well done for the detail.

    • @OutdoorPrep

      I have tried that. Volume remains the same, it’s just shaped differently. The material is stretchy enough to handle it 👌🏼

      You could- deponering on your comfort levels. I have used exped megamat at a friends home for a week - was great. It’s 1cm thicker.
      Decathlon also has an inflatable bed frame for this. Would try that

    Me and my girlfriend have been using these for carcamping for about 2.5 years and they are still great but not so self inflating anymore.

      Have you tried storing them uncompressed for a while? That could help.

    I just got the quechua basic self inflating mattress. No instructions.
    1 valve. Opened it out and opened the valve and nothing. Waited 10 mins and still no change, what the .... am I supposed to do? I want to sleep and my 3cm matress is less than 1cm.
    Super disappointed.

    • @OutdoorPrep
      @OutdoorPrep  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      One valve is tricky. You’ve probably opened it for deflation. Close fully and then open just a bit. Should self in flare in 4 minutes. Otherwise you’ll need to use your long power.

    How long did it take too inflate with your breath after self inflation?
    Can it be done with another tool than mouth?

    • @OutdoorPrep
      @OutdoorPrep  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Normally it would be a few minutes, but this one I had really compressed so it would take a long time for it to recover. There are dry bags that have an inflation opening that you can potentially use. Or small electronic pumps. Thermarest makes them 🙏

      Decathlon itself doesnt recommend using a pump of any kind , they are made for inflating on their own/with your mouth. pumps can lead to damage.

    • @CosmicSeeker69
      @CosmicSeeker69 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@pimpeperkamp225 you always have option of turning the pump off before it gets too hard. That way dry air is used not moisture from your mouth.

    How does this compare to the more expensive 4 inch mats on the market?

    • @OutdoorPrep
      @OutdoorPrep  23 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      The Exped ones I like a bit more simply because they’re a bit thicker but you pay for that extra comfort. This is still a great choice
