Saw Basement Jaxx in 1999 at the Casbah in San Diego. They played only two shows in the US. They didn't charge any ticket price, you had to bring a toy for Toys for Tots to get in. How classy is that?
@@danielward7008 It was still algorithms back then, at least as far as the beginning of commercial radio, they had playlists. When commercial radio networks sprung up, one corp owning lots of different stations in multiple regions, they'd set up policies including playlists. At best, a DJ would have some freedom, but still be obliged to play X song so many times Mon - Fri between certain peak hours. Like maybe drive time on weekdays they'd either be paid by a record company to play so much of this plugged song, or else they'd figured out a song was popular so people were more likely to stay tuned in if they heard what they liked. The algorithms might have been done on office computers rather than over the Internet, then faxed over to local stations by secretaries. They might've been done by hand on paper by some guy who had the figures and listings in front of him and a calculator to one side. Individual human taste hasn't had much control tho since the last time anyone HAD any human taste. When'd you last hear a tune that wasn't made by robots for the consumption of robots? Well, OK, you can. But not likely in the Top 40s.
One of the best tracks of the 2000s, this track was so under rated unfortunately. Still have this cd all these years later and the bass notes hit hard. 2022 and I'm still banging this tune
What a beautiful dance track, that surely deserves more attention, because it doesn't only transport your soul to another level, but also gives you a beautiful melody to move your body, and makes you feel more alive!
Wow! Nunca había visto este increíble y maravilloso video! Y más con imágenes de México y de luchadores! En el minuto 1:10 aparece el Rayo de Jalisco! Hermosooooo!!!!
Most of the people who have never attempted to produce a dance track will never understand how good the production is on this and most Basement Jaxx tunes. BIG
still slamming this as a dj in Houston. started playing this in El Paso Juarez back in the cocaine wars . it still holds up . great song/ video. wish i could go back in time. but i still play it at the beach. china virus closed down the clubs but this is a classic
Mmmm memories and Fyn times from a time when nothing mattered but the music. Tho at that point in time, nobody i knew liked it very much... It's a special kind of dance music... 😄
my story with this song.... i saw it on one chartshow in begining of 00is and couldnt find it. and decade later BINGO!!! i guess patient is the key sometimes :-)
So this song is 25 years old? Still a total banger.
I had nooooooooo ideeeeeeaaaaaa
Wow. This song still slaps in 2024.
No fucking way I'm getting old
How I was 18 Holly shit I'm old
Fun fact: this was used for the intro in the Michael Rosen 78th birthday Collab
This song has aged so well.... pure banger...
Agreed. Timeless sound.
And it’s just a great intro song to an insanely great album
This suddenly popped into my head for no particular reason just now. Have not heard it for about 20 years. Banger!
Help, I have the same haha!😁

God I miss the '90s so much. The party favors back then too. We had it so good!
man this brings me back to when the radio played anything not just the same hits over and over and over...
+gunfuego Need to change your radio station!
+gunfuego love this song...a nice souvenir
It's true! The DJs used to have more of a say over the tracks back then, now it's all algorithms.
yeah the thing is I usually dont like many new songs anyway, I love some of the old stuff luckily some radio stations play older stuff

The only way I can describe Basement Jaxx's music is colourful. Their sound is so unique. I love it.

Its like the songs are swept into a hue of warmth
the guitar makes the song brilliant. love that sound
there was a time when Basement were absolutely killing it with their music videos!
25 years old this song and sound modern
One of the best songs to ever grace my spirit.
❤
Basement Jaxx, Groove Armada and the Chemical brothers, these groups define the nineties 2000's for me
These were waaaaaaay ahead of their time. Endless classics ❤
It's only upon returning to this song after so many years that I have realised how heavy this tune is!
The most underrated Basement Jaxx tune. And the best.
It's the only one I ever really loved from Basement Jaxx!!
I agree
and it was their highest chart topping song to
This song and a few off crazy Itch Radio.
This jam reminds me of my boy that passed away definitely shed many tears to this one.

One of the best tracks of the 2000s, this track was so under rated unfortunately. Still have this cd all these years later and the bass notes hit hard. 2022 and I'm still banging this tune
Easily one of my favourite house tunes of all time needs to be shared!
This album is fantastic. Productions were so imaginative back then.
This should have way more views! Great summer tune.
A lot of people have no taste in great music, 🎶 🎶 🎶 🎶 🎶 🎶 🎶 🎶
Yes! And most of BJ's other songs have more views than this...🤔
Simple as that
I really like how they crafted their signature sound with cymbal high hat 4x4 mixed with maracas and shakers. It gives their music a unique sound.
Album released on this week 22 years ago. Still sounds fresh and fabulous. Best band ever. Soundtrack to my life ✌️💛
I haven't listened to this song in a long, long time. What wonderful memories it stirs up.
reminds me better days
I have spent years listening to this and it's still a classic! Just perfect 👌
This was filmed at Tabernas desert, in Almería, Spain. I love it.

That bassline is amazing
Someone driving around London in 1999 with the radio playing in the background had this song on it. Brought me straight here!
Still love this 20 something years on
Awesome good old days, end of 90s was end of cool Music clips

Most of the people who have never attempted to produce a dance track will never understand how good the production is on this and most Basement Jaxx tunes. BIG

The 49 people that did not like the video, they were late or just missed the rendezvous. The rest were just very happy to see you performing.

Fabulous! Perfect follow on from Bolero at the Proms!
This brings back memories from 106.7 KDL The Texas Party Station in Dallas in 2002. Miss those days..😞
one of my favorite ever. love it!
Been searching in the desert for this track for years... finally found it thanks The Office... feels good
Наикрутейший трек. Клип тоже на уровне.
If this was released today then by next month there would be 10 similar sounding tracks. Milking every drop of life out of the sound.
I woudl say Galantis are probably the closest to Basement Jaxx in style
