My grandpa passed away 45 years ago today. I played this at his bedside as he took his last breaths. And as his grandfather passed away 80 years ago today he too played this at his bedside while he was dying from an ingrown toenail. Every time I hear these lyrics I think of my family legacy of 200 years enjoying these inspiring lyrics.
My stepfather gave me this cd as his first gift to me to kinda break the ice. I was a young boy at the time, about 8 years old. I just knew the cd and the “ monkey cd “ it had basement jaxx first album art on it. I’ll never sell it nor give it away, it even irks me to explain what it is. It’s one of those, if ya know, ya know, if not, then you don’t. And you don’t need to. Rooty had such a special place in my heart that I couldn’t put it into words of if I tried. This album is the shit.

Somexs even others. Me being me... & I'm gonna stop that. It's gonna be in spite of some ppl, sadly enough... But find something else to talk about. Bc I can't imagine staying on my phone the majority of the time & still be complaining the most. Must be tough. 1 of those things where if ppl don't see it, I'm not gonna waste my energy... Bc that's on u. No reports, no cleanliness, ppl being neglected for actual good amounts of time, most attitude over everything. But sure blame me & that should solve it. Ppl love being part of the problem. But never actually truly care enough to help find answers. Let alone organized plans. I just wanted to vent. How the f do I work in healthcare... & CO workers threaten me? You're really driving in ur PT of knowing how to prioritize. Bc u came in for income or me? Vented for so long idek how I made this relative other than throw a whole bunch of conflicting minds together.. :/ although I have caught myself saying u don't make it easy on urself when dealing w/ some residents somexs tho. I'm not ur conspiracy theory. I'm just trying to help. Everything else is outside my say. But u do need to get ur blood flowing. Preferably not popping a vein in ur head from all that defiant anger... But u know.

I used this song as an alarm on my tablet back in high school and I always knew I’d regret it one day.
I had injured my knee around that time and was scheduled for surgery. Just like the music video, it was a gray and cloudy morning as I was the first patient checking in; alone in the waiting room. Long story short: I’m now laying down on the operating table getting ready to go under and, just before, I said to the anesthesiologist, “Stop! I gotta go get my tablet I left in the waiting room.”

My grandpa passed away 45 years ago today. I played this at his bedside as he took his last breaths. And as his grandfather passed away 80 years ago today he too played this at his bedside while he was dying from an ingrown toenail.
