    I've never heard anyone else mention waiting at the start with pulse. Just ran outside and tried it, helped a lot.

    How do you decide what diameter fill rod to use?

    • @KULLYCO
      @KULLYCO  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      A good rule of thumb is use the same thickness filler as the material thickness your welding. But it’s not always accurate . In this case it is

    I fusion welded my dump pipe and wastegate pipe pie cuts 1mm tubing. No back purge and colorless on the top. Check it after every race holding up so far haha.

      Bud did You use titanium or stainless?

    • @buiItnotbought
      @buiItnotbought หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Cp2 ti from monkey fab. I used 304 16ga stainless for the pre turbine side. Im kind of debating redoing it in ti. Im a huge weight savings addict. Already well into the carbon and titanium rabbit hole.

    Great video mate, super tidy and very professional! You didn't mention keeping the filler in the gas coverage area and noticed a few times you quickly pulled the filler away, I've seen with stainless this can put oxidised filler back into your weld pool. Is this less of an issue with titanium? Cheers.

      Thats a great point thank you for mentioning that! To be honest, I should prrobably get better about that myself, Its not really something I think about. I pull it a away quickly quite often and I dont really see a difference... but I can always improve! Cheers

    Strong, light, notch sensitive

    • @KULLYCO
      @KULLYCO  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      What you mean notch sensative !?

    • @butziporsche8646
      @butziporsche8646 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@KULLYCO It's not really a concern for exhaust systems but more so for structural (i.e. suspension/chassis, etc.)

      @@butziporsche8646 Right on! What do you mean, though- notch sensitive? Just curious. Also- I've built some titanium frames as well! Kinda neat

      @@KULLYCO Various ti alloys are sensitive to scratches. They can set up fracture planes that can cause the ti to suffer fatigue failures along the scratch. Like putting a scratch on glass to cut it. Sensitive to the stress riser presented by the scratch. This is why, back in the day, the FIA disallowed ti for suspension components.
