I found him, but for some reason, he transformed from pig to priest with 5 HP left. I guess maybe he was unlucky to be cut by one of the villigers. And I didn't have time to replay the whole level, especially not knowing which pig he was.
@@ShadowTheHedgehogCZ I think he is the pig that says "Have you come to rescue us?" but maybe he is the pig at the temple, like there is a temple somewhere I remember that has a pig, that is what they say is him.
You don't even need to use cheats to defeat the army in the second scenario. You can use shifting sands to transport labourers and arkantos to one of the villages, and lure units and build migdols and towers and priests to snipe everything
I used the cheats to "scout" if I have to destroy the army, not to defeat it (I did reload after that)... But yeah, I could have used shifting sands and build stuff there, but it's hard when you need to focus on multiple fronts, it's easier when you find out that you don't have to focus on that army so you can just focus on busting through the base
Well as you could see, I experimented to see if it's possible without the doggo and it's not so I guess losing the sword guys is ok. Plus, I don't see a reason why the sword bearers would die when giving him the sword, feels more like they knew they couldn't fight so they just ran away when their task was completed so it's still kinda in the spirit of the run hahaha

Great video as first one. I even tought some mission would be imposibble without losing units in Egypt Campaign. And if you think 16th Level: Worst Son Ever was bad wait until Age of Mythology - Worst Son Ever Campaign extension
Yeah, I think that's going to be a real nightmare, but I'm trying not to think about that horrible future experience just yet. The Norse campaing is giving me enough pain as is...
"Just" doing a playthrough seems a bit too basic on older games like this Maybe for newer games though, but I have A LOT of challenge ideas in the backlog and I want to go at least through some of them
The level where you have to cut Osiris's head out of the tree was impossible for me to complete even when not doing deathless. I played Retold version and not even the highest difficulty. Only hard difficulty. Despite the Mummies don't have instant kill attack, they somehow feel stronger. I think it's because retold version is probably over tuned. The Mummies will attack you while you are downing their temples in Rotold. When their temples hit 50%, they spawn a bunch of mummies and undead minions. When the temple is destroyed, it spawns like 6 Scarab and their on death AOE damage is insane. Some Starship Troopers shit that is. Also, there are three temples, not two. The third one is the lower left corner. I think it was like that in your version too, since the Mummies came after you despite killing two temples. Anyway, the anitial force I am given is not strong enough to do anything. When I go to destroy a Mummy temple, I manage it at the cost of my entire force. And then enemy party arrives for my base, including the Mummies from the other temples. They come basically at the same time. If my party is spent after the first temple, there is nothing I can do. I hoped I could somehow bait Mummies and enemy player to attack each other, but they never did. And if I don't attack the Mummy temple, then I can somehow hold the attacks, but the Mummy raids are stronger. And eventually, the enemy overwhelmes me, because he is relentless, attacks with masses of Mythic age units and siege weapons almost from the start, and keeps getting stronger. And on top of that, the Mummies. And the best part is, the gimmick of that level is that there is no gold in your base. You start in Heroic age and have a big gold bank, maybe 2000. But it is not enough. If you want either priests for healing, to deal with Mummies or to deal with the enemy myth units, or if you want to build towers and strongholds, or build army units, then you soon run out of gold. If you advance to Mythic Age immediately, you run out of gold (and food) even sooner, and you get crushed by the enemy and the Mummies for lacking resources. What I didn't try was to attack the Mummy temples before I get the base. I may try that. But seeing how freaking powerful those temples are, guarded by like 6 Mummies, 6 Scarabs and maybe 10 or 15 undead minions, not counting those spawned from your dead units, I don't have much hopes. I used cheat and skipped ahead, didn't have patience for this.
I did a playthrough of the level on my second channel, you can check it out here: th-cam.com/video/S8E-8G_FBaM/w-d-xo.html Basically you can wall off all but one of the chokepoints in the middle and the enemy will start attacking you from that one direction. Also, you can sneak into the top right and take the gold mine there, I don't think nobody ever attacks that corner, especially if you wall the top off. Attacking the temples in the beginning won't help because the AI activates regardless so once you kill a temple a huge group of enemies will attack you. You could try building Rocs quickly and use them to snipe the 2 enemy temples with a Roc and a siege tower (I did that in my run) so the enemy can't build myth units anymore. Other than that, just rush to sunlight crocs and Son of Osiris as soon as possible and ignore the temples (other than the one next to your base, you can take that one out in the beginning. But yeah, the temples are very overtuned here and so is the level in general. They made it easier in the last patch, but it's still really not that easy to beat plus the temples didn't get any nerf I believe.
@@AmonsChallenges Nice. that playthrough will be helpful. I once tried to mine the gold mine up as you suggested, but then enemy very shortly killed all my workers and it was a bigger blow to my economy than boost. If I construct fortresses or towers there, it costs gold, and he downs it anyway. If I have army to protect them, that army is not defending my main base that gets wrecked. I didn't think of making walls everywhere EXCEPT one place. I always made walls everywhere, thinking that it merely slows the AI enough to move my army there, not stops it. But if making an opening makes the AI dumb enough to only attack in that one opening, then it could actually work, and my gold miners could be unharmed. I guess the AI is this stupid because it simply A moves the entire army to my base. And if there is a path, it takes that path. If there is no path, then it makes a path by attacking at random places. We will see. Hopefully that will work...
Which one? There were a lot of them hahaha I will say tho that Retold did a good job trying to remove cheesing opportunities, it's a lot harder to cheese now. Doable, but a lot harder
I don't want to be that person, but there were more members of kemsets army who would appear later on, so technically you didn't complete that mission. (I'm going to test this myself later to see if it is true cause I do know you can beat the game without the guardian ever being awakened)
hmm, interesting. Did not know more people come later on... But wasn't the mission objective description awaken the guardian and kill the army? Or maybe they just switched things up in the extended edition... That being said, i don't feel too bad about the sword guys, not only are they part of the objective, but we can also pretend they just give the guardian the sword and jump to safety later on and i just lost control of them :) Jokes aside, it's definitely doable without awakening the guy, the enemy has no ranged units in kemsyt's army so i could tehnically just use shifting sands to get a couple of workers and crocodiles to a chokepoint, build a wall and outrepair it while the crocs take care of the army. Now that i think about it, i think that would have been an even easier way to win cuz i wouldn't have to bust through the enemy base if you really do win when you kill the additional guys that (potentially) come later Appreciate pointing it out tho
The workers have a knife, so..... using American police logic, you are well within your rights to gun them down, they refused to drop down the knife, your actions are justified by American supreme court
