Which ends of the lake do you find you see more burbot? Ive fished kemp, south shore of the main lake and throughout Innisfil... Yet to see or catch burbot! There must be more of them out of Oro and Orillia. Maybe I just need me a machine to get to some of the juicy shoals!
We get a lot in Kemp and other deeper areas usually from Jan 1 - Jan 15th ish. After the 15th, we see a lot more burbs hanging on the shoals. Won't matter the area of the lake though. Find the edge of the shoals and find the burbs. Hoping to do a Burbot video next!
Hey Kevin, another great video! It's my first season this year with a machine, and would love to get out further to some of the shoals in Simcoe. I know pressure cracks are something to look out for out there, but just wondering if you have any tips or a video on how to safely navigate a pressure crack and how to cross them? Thanks!
It's a video I have often thought of doing. I fear that information may make someone try to cross a pressure crack when they are not experienced enough. A video like that may get people into trouble. Let me think about it. See what I can do. It may save someone as well. Leave it with me and thanks for the suggestion.
@@FoxFishing4K for sure, totally understand the reasoning. Crossing a pressure crack or even stepping out onto the ice should be at the risk of each individual and their comfort level. For me I'd love to equip myself with as much information possible to be able to make the right choice for myself. Thanks Kevin!
I fished many of years with 10lb and 12lb and caught fish. Heck 15 years ago I bet we were using close to 20lb on our jigging sticks lol. But I do believe the lighter line helps especially first ice and when the water is clear. Even if it only catches me a couple more fish over the length of a season all those small details add up.
Hey guy , I've been fishing for white fish for three years out of cedar Beach area in about 20 to 25 of water, with good structure . I see lots of fish , I even started moving my aqua view back at least 15 feet. All day they won't commit, the only thing I noticed that late in the afternoon they start looking down like they want to feed but still won't commit. Any ideas
Drop your bait quicker. They see incredibly well. If you're dropping too late, the fish will not be interested. If you're fishing with a friend, make sure you're both down early as one bait staying high too long can spook the fish as well. Often if using a camera instead of a fishfibder your almost spotting the fish to late. Try to use a fish finder with wide cone angle and drop fast. They will definetly bite then.
If anyone has any questions, don't hesitate to ask. We are here to help you guys catch more fish!
How do you find these fish?
What depth of water if you dont mind?
@@FEESHIKINS we fish the change in bottom from silt to rock.
@@muskyman3238 we were fishing 26.7 feet of water in this video
Is it possible to walk to the area? Is it near north end of lake Simcoe?
Thanks for sharing...
Your welcome!
Awesome info. Thanks!
Thanks brother! Much appreciated!
Great video!!! Good information
Thanks
Kool footage! The technique is definitely a hard one to pick up, thanks for the insight! Your video fuels the fire 🔥
Less is more with a bottom jig. I rarely use bottom jigs anymore and have almost completely switched to ned/goby bait fishing now.
@@FoxFishing4K wicked! Definitely going to switch my tactics for this weekend 👊🏻

Next day out we are going to try and break 20 fish. Haven't had a 20 fish day yet this year!

Hi there great video btw . Was wondering where I can purchase the menace jigs ?
Check out Trifecta Tackle online.
Hi Kevin,
Which colour of the menace jig do you prefer to fish these white fish?
I love the goby, and the fatal force green. 2 best colors.
Thank you Kevin
I love the Rick Flair Woooooo!😅
Thanks Omar! I think all fishing youtubers do it for some reason lol when we can't think of something to say we just go WOOOO! 🤣
hi guys.. is there a website for purchasing eyce rods?
No. I dont think he is selling them anymore. Had one break and haven't even heard back from him for a repair. Looking for a new rod for this year.
What part of the lake are you fishing in?
In this video the East side.
I always bring my kids out to lake simcoe for perch…. One of these days I’m going to just go myself for whitefish
I highly recommend it! It's a blast!
Great info Kevin, thank you. Do you think a 10lb fluo is too much and may spook them?

Great video. I have one question though. How deep are you fishing?
In this video we were fishing 26.7 feet of water.
How heavy are your jigs?

Thanks for info , we use two different baits that makes sense
Hey Kevin, just wanted to ask what size/type hook you typically use for a high hook?
I will have to check they are TINY! I'm using my steelhead hooks.
I am using the single Salmon Egg Hooks Mustad - Model 9263A and I believe they are size #10 or #12 either would work.
Are those whitefish better tasting than perch?
I think so myself yes!
@@FoxFishing4K ok wow...gotta get me some then! Thank you!!!
