    Thanks. I was having a heck of a time disassembling my TX22 and I couldn’t find a video that showed it as clearly as yours does.

    Thanks for this. I'm not much of a gun guy. I just bought this. The manual DOES NOT say to do this. It says to lock the slide back, then pull that release, then let it forward halfway and then it comes apart. After an hour of attempting this, I turned to you... Thanks again

    I appreciate all the little details you've included here. The white background helps too. This was much clearer and more complete than most videos attempting to show the field strip and reassembley of a tx 22, and yet it was also nicely compact at just over 3 minutes. Very well done and very helpful!

    My slide would not break loose, even with the takedown lever lowered. Others have complained of the same problem with new pistols. If you've followed all the other steps and the slide won't budge, give it a good whack from the rear to the front, while holding the takedown lever down. That should get the slide loose and then you can proceed as normal.

    The coil spring has a flat side on the barrel side. Does it matter which way it goes in?

      I haven’t noticed a difference, but I am OCD so I always put it at the bottom.

    Great video. I just recently got a Taurus TX22, and while going through the Manual, I saw nothing about "Dry firing". Usually this is a no-no with a Rimfire. I'd really like to know.

    • @12thgun39
      @12thgun39  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I typically don’t do much dry firing without having a few snap caps in the chamber and magazine. Just seems like a good practice to me. All pistols are designed to release the firing pin into the back of a cartridge. Now am I saying that you HAVE to? Nope, I’m not a designer or engineer of pistols. But for a few bucks I can simulate that with snap caps so why not?

    • @jshepard152
      @jshepard152 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Taurus website says it's okay to dry fire. " Can I dry fire my Taurus? Yes, except for the .22 caliber pistols. .22 caliber revolvers such as models 94 and 941 also should not be dry fired. This does not include the TaurusTX™ 22 because it is designed to be dry fire safe."

      This is late but I looked online and it said this pistol is striker fired. So all good to dry fire if you’d like

    Do you think this would be good for a first gun?

    • @12thgun39
      @12thgun39  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It would be a very good gun to learn proper marksmanship with. It is relatively inexpensive at a cost of around $250. The 22LR ammo is about as cheap as any you can find. The recoil is low and the ease of shooting it is great. I bought one for my students to use because sometimes they show up with something they can’t shoot. I liked it so much I went and got a second one if that tells you anything.

    • @DonnieReno

      I wish I would’ve gotten this one as my first gun. It will get a person used to using a gun without them having to worry about recoil.And the trigger is fabulous!

    My slide will not lock open without the mag inserted. is this an issue or normal?

    • @12thgun39
      @12thgun39  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You have to push the slide catch up while the slide is completely to the rear. If it won’t do that and your pushing the slide catch up then yes that is a problem.
