Great work though, I definitely think this is the spot!
This is the kind of thing that those in the marketing think is a good way to do things but it's utter rubbish. I honestly do not care about modern IP stuff. Hell i don't even care about any IP at all as long as it's a good ride in itself and the theme is good. If it got thrills, people will go to it even if it's themed on something that is old. Look at Tower of Terror in Disney Studios, It's thrilling and iconic and yet based on a 50s TV show... People don't go to rides just because they're fans of what it's based on, they primarly go on it for the fun above all.
@@joebenzz this is semi-true, they’d have plenty of people come without IP. It doesn't work for all IPs.
@@joebenzz didn’t say it’d work for all IP’s, that exact reason is why I said BTTF would be a poor choice for Universal on this type of ride. As far as Nintendo, I’d like to point you to the wildly popular Super Nintendo World in Hollywood and Japan. Tons of people there that would rarely consider a theme park visit have been going just for that land. Harry Potter works well too, I think Lord of the Rings would kill it, Star Wars is still pulling in fans. But yes to your point, has to be the right IP and I totally agree there! The right IP is what gets people who don’t normally got to parks to suddenly think about planning a trip to a theme park.
For me, it's a no-brainer to get Back to the Future in the park. I wouldn't see the need to remove Simpsons - being a cash cow, and renewable. I would remove the Fear Factor stage to allow for more Halloween Horror Nights. But, the backstage area between Simpsons and MIB could be put aside for a back to the future square with an attraction within the courthouse. A coaster or dark ride could work perfectly - or BOTH! Coaster taking you to '88MPH' and taking you down to a tour of different decades, before another '88MPH' back to today.
I’ve been saying BTTF should be brought back as a coaster for years. What is Springfield can be Hill Valley. And have 2 coasters side by side. 1 would be the 8 passenger DeLorean and the other the time train. Or do an indoor coaster with the 8 passenger DeLorean but similar to Guardians of the Galaxy having the DeLorean rotate.
Fun fact, it was actually planned to have a Back to the Future coaster but then was scrapped, giving us the simulator ride. Seeing as a lot (maybe even all) of the scrapped ideas for the Universal Parks didn't really come, I don't think this would come either. I would love to ride it though.
I dont see the simpsons ride making it all the way to 2028 for the same reasons back to the future got the axe when it did. Sure they may have the rights to it, but the ride is old. Even though it was refurbished, the ride system is over 30 years old. Perfect spot for a new thrill coaster.
I love this idea I would love to see the coaster go through the different time periods as i think it would be cool to get the wild west the past and the future
Awesome concept and idea! 🤩👍👍 I would definitely love to see Universal Studios Florida open a new Back to the Future-themed coaster. Plus, I think that Kang and Kudos’ Twirl n Hurl would get a re-theme to fit in with the theme of the coaster.
A roller coaster would be great, but a reboot to the franchise… no. Trust me the directors and producers of the trilogy have a protection on it, baring any remakes or reboots from happening. And it’s for the best.
I think that there will eventually be a roller coaster in this area. I’d say it’s more likely to be fast and furious though. I also think now that they have minion blast (shooting ride) I think MIB will probably get scrapped for extra space also.
I was watching "Back To The Future" on network Sifi last night. All 3 are reairing today as well. I love those movies and the idea of someone building a coaster themed after the franchise.
1 - Epic Universe is their priority 2 - Lost Continent is going to be re-themed soon (Legend of Zelda rumor) 3 - I’d believe they would do a Fast and Furious themed launch coaster first and finally get rid of that horrible FNF limo bus ride they have
I think that Universal truly will have a lot of room to work with, losing the rights to the Simpsons, having the storage moved to EPIC, MIB getting old and not having the parts to fix it, as well as fear factor sitting in waste. if they played their cards right I could see two new themed lands coming into the park.
That would be so sick with a fire track effect during the launch!!! In fact a Back to the Future themed roller coaster would be amazing!!! I feel in some way the 2nd and 3rd movie should represented in the coaster somehow.
I agree that they need a new thrill coaster and agree on the location, but they do not need another intamin launch. Also given the age of the current back to the future ride, it wont be around much longer so they may want to chose a new IP and replace the current back to the future ride with something else of the same theme to make a new themed land.
I think just bring back the old back to the future ride. The original 80’s kids that went to this original park are looking for some original rides that they went on that they can bring their kids back onto. I definitely think they should repurpose this aria. But bring back the 80’s and 90’s movies that help make universal what is is today. The back to the future, and Ghost Busters.
While this would be a great idea- I feel like they wouldn’t do Back To The Future. Even if it was in the same location as the old attraction, how would they have any of the characters from back to the future? All of the actors are old and haven’t done the characters in decades. I feel like it’s more likely to be something more modern or something nostalgic that they can easily recreate.
@@kasity love to hear that! If they go with the IP I really hope it works (and I love it!!) but I still don’t think it’s big enough anymore, especially with the majority of the fans getting out of roller coaster riding age.
I really think this can work except tame it down a bit with an intensity level and hybrid style that combines Revenge of the Mummy with Test Track. You can have the attraction entrance at the clock tower, have the ride start off with some animatronics of Marty and Doc with reproduced audio from the movies and then pick up speed through Hill Valley, ending with an outdoor portion similar to Test Track.
This would be fun. But I do not think it's going to happen. I hope I'm wrong, but I really don't think I am. I think we are more likely to get a version of the fast and furious coaster that's coming to Hollywood
To me, there's no way would Universal theme a ride to Back To The Future again. Younger visitors don't even know that IP. Your idea of a major coaster will probably happen though. I personally think Simpsons area will end up being Pokemon.
I would love to see an intimin multi launch coaster but, I would want the first part of the ride to be indoors before heading outside for the fast pace thrill section
I think a new coaster is obvious just from a numbers perspective: Universal will want that 3rd coaster at the studios park since both epic universe and IOA have 3 coasters meanwhile studios only has 2 (obviously excluding the Jr coaster). I think what Studios really needs is a family ride, thats the big gap in its coaster lineup because it has its 2 thrill coasters already. It’s also obvious that the next expansion is the area that you’ve pointed out, because if they build in that area they can create a new path between the back of the isolated Kids area that’s currently a dead end (once it’s rethemed to dreamworks next year) and MIB
Hey, I know this isn’t related to the video however, I went to Hershey Park around a month ago. I have a big fear of them and the first one I rode (that day and was also first ever) was Cansymonium. It felt good feeling that I did it but I was still extremely scared of drops. The whole day I only went on Laff Track and I just want to know what to do to get over my fear of floating on the drops. Do you have any tips for that? If so thanks
That "unused storage area" is full of mini offices, parking lots, and the location of both hhn sprung tents. With how limited space is across this park, I really don't think Universal would be willing to give up that space
Considering how BTTF: The ride, was originally going to be an indoor coaster using the same building that houses the simpson's ride, i would love to see them use the building for the station and first half of the ride (an indoor coaster would really fit BTTF, where you can have the storytelling through showscenes, but then have the train accelerate to 88MPH and exit the building, going into the 2nd half (using the space taken up by the maintenance buildings) this way, they can remove the simpsons ride, and retheme the area back to the institute of future technology, Thoughts?
I really like this idea. Having dark ride scenes would fit well and allow them to tell a bit of the story. The outside section could allow them to pick one or two large scenes to maneuver through. I immediately thought of the dinosaur scene from the original ride as a possibility but that might seem a bit redundant with Velocicoaster. They could send it through the olds west from BTTF part 3. It could even have you fly through the future Hill Valley from BTTF part 2 and let you maneuver flying car traffic, though that might be a pretty expensive scene to pull off for coaster purposes.
Fun idea, but I think we've seen everything that Universal is going to give us from the BTTF franchise. I expect to see something from a newer franchise.
I mean… when was the last time that bourne was relevant? It’s a hit show now. Universal has proven they’ll do less relevant material as long as it’s quality. I think this would drum up some interest in the film franchise and also add a much needed high octane coaster to the park
It would be really insane, I see some people saying it's not popular enough but it really is. I could see them pulling this off, some say they would need to reboot it to do this but seriously, (it's never happening) and people wouldn't like it to be themed to a reboot which would be sub par to the classic. I do believe this is something that really could happen, a new thrilling steel coaster. Possibly a b&m maybe. I do think intamin is a possibility but then that is three intamin multi launches at universal in Florida. I doubt they would have another intamin multi launch. I mean maybe a wing coaster but that wouldn't really fit. It really needs to have a launch so maybe a longer s&s air launch?
I would like to see a dark ride component like Hagrids where you went through Hill Valley from the 50s then you launched into the future similar to what happened in the movie.
5:03 - "And finally, what if Universal Studios Florida gave us something that we'd all appreciate and love. What if we would see a new rollercoaster that would be themed to the 'Back to the Future' ...?" The concern I have about this comment is the use of the phrase "we'd all appreciate and love". There is a sizable number of theme park fans who either will not or cannot ride rollercoasters. Age, height and health are all reasons why "the fastest rollercoaster" (which is typically one word, not two) would not likely have a substantial, sustained impact on ticket sales. Aggressive rollercoasters are attractive to a very narrow demographic.
Vekoma needs more projects at big theme parks. Their new stuff is highly underrated, and big parks in the US have been sleeping on them the last few years, in my opinion. I'm really hoping Busch Gardens Tampa is getting a new flyer model from them in Pantopia, like F.L.Y. at Phantasialand. Maybe it'd wake these other parks up to branch out.
I’ve been saying this for years, bring Hill Valley back to USF! Back to the Future is a great theme and gimmick for 88mph! Also, roller coasters are huge crowd pleasers! Now I would personally like to see Hill Valley town Square recreated and have the clock tower be the entrance! You could then migrate the BTTF train and car photo op to this area with Doc and Marty meet n greet. They could have the diner through the decades with sections themed to 1955, 1985, and “2015”. Also, I think it would be cool to have a walk through attraction that showed the BTS of both the movie, the OG ride, and the new ride.
you've been informed wrong then. that space is used for warehouses that house HHN houses. they NEED that space for backlot filming or stuff, and haunted house space.
I personally think that any new coaster would replace Rip Ride Rocket and the space behind Simpsons and and MIB should be for a new land. But if they do put a coaster behind Simpsons and MIB, Rip Ride Rocket should get removed for a whole new land where those soundstages are currently.
Yes, because the *one* thing Universal Orlando really needs is an *outdoor multi-launch* coaster... Sure, you can launch to 88 mph, but then you'll have to slam on the brakes like a DeLorean would at its destination time. So most of the ride would be spent cruising at about 45 mph - a bit faster than Velocicoaster's first half. That's more than a bit anticlimactic, and probably not the best use of space at Studios. BTTF had a great run, but Universal did the right thing by moving on before 2015 and leaving the photo-ops.
Did You know that they already of concept art for this coaster? This coaster was originally supposed to be were fast and the furious supercharged is now. But the park decided to build fast and the furious because it was biggest franchise at the time and probably cheaper to reproduce in the park just because they already had the video from Hollywood park. And It would probably be easier just to retrofit fast and the furious supercharges line area to fit to Dr. Emmett Brown secret research lab and use the ride area as a huge indoor coaster space.
With as many new coasters coming to Epic. And they are looking like some bangers. I'm not sure they will do anything drastic coaster wise for a few years!
The area that you highlighted is NOT unused and it is not just a storage area. Those two tents are haunted houses for HHN and those will never go away. Part of the area is a laydown which is needed but there is nowhere else on property for something like that. Also, one thing that you're not taking into consideration is that there are apartment buildings within 200 feet of that area. The noise alone would prevent something from being built there. Being in the middle of a residential area is very restrictive as far as what they can get away with.
As much as I'd love to see a back to the future themed ride. I would rather they theme it to F&F so that they can keep that IP in the park and mirror Hollywood. Then replace F&F Supercharged with something better, a win win.
I wish B&M (builders of the Incredible Hulk Coaster) would work with Universal again. I think B&M broke business ties with Universal with the demolition of Dragons Challenge.
That would be great universal studios needs a new roller coaster but what are they replacing fear factor with they should put a roller coaster there Iv always dream of a roller coaster Been in that location
Is 'Back To The Future' recent enough to have a new ride that will last for decades still? I would see them using a more fresh movie/franchise. That said, I'd still love to see a coaster built in that specific location. I live right behind that area of the park, so I'd probably be able to see it from my living room. I already get their foreworks from my couch.

Absolutely loving this idea!!
This looks super cool. I wish someone could make this a concept POV in NoLimits 2!
Wow! What an awesome imagination. Great idea. Sooooooo wish this would be built.
Fun fact, the old Universal Hollywoodland concept for Germany was supposed to be have a BTTF Coatser called BTTF: Time Warp.
I love the idea of back to the future roller coaster at universal studios florida
What about a tipple launch coaster. Each launch up to 88mph thru different themes past future and western past
4:17 Isn’t an Inversion Considered going Upside down lol 😂
I would like to see a dark ride component like Hagrids where you went through Hill Valley from the 50s then you launched into the future similar to what happened in the movie.
Love the back to the future ride idea 🤞🏻
I don’t think people under 30 would appreciate a back to the future themed ride.
Well those two oval tents in the unused area are used every year for the HHN houses
You know. Intamin needs a break. Let Someone else do the work.
Fast and Furious coaster already is about to be built probably going to Florida next
Also great job on the video!
you've been informed wrong then. that space is used for warehouses that house HHN houses. they NEED that space for backlot filming or stuff, and haunted house space.
This has to happen!
I’m sure someone is working on a back to the future remake/continuation that could bring resurgence to the story and allow for this.
Love your idea
Would absolutely love for this to come to USF!
I feel like they would do something stranger things themed in that building and probably also the MIB building as well but I could see that happening
I love the idea🔥🔥🔥😎🤩
I just hope they bring back the nickelodeon attraction and Ghostbusters ride
Where did you get this layout from? Or did you create it yourself?
I created it myself :)
@@KeepRidinCoasters 👍🏻
I would love if they added a non inverting cobra roll like konda
If Simpsons is getting replaced in a few years, it’s not out of the question to take the storage and land of Simpsons to make the bttf coaster
Intamin is making so much bank with Universal right now 💀
I know! Intamin and Universal are absolutely on FIRE right now!! It's a relationship that is going FURIOUSLY well!!
Intamin sleeping good at night knowing they got Universal opening a new rollercoaster every 2 years.
@@acowwithlegs haha yep! 18 months until the next one... it's not for FAMILY!
We’re you at islands of adventure today I thought I saw you?
I wasn’t sadly! Lol
I’m not sold on Back to The Future. It could be seen as outdated. But I definitely think something big will be there come 2027.
If this was to ever happen it has to start as a launch that hits 88.
We know this boutta be a heater
Omg knock down Simpsons now and get started with this lol 😍
With as many new coasters coming to Epic. And they are looking like some bangers. I'm not sure they will do anything drastic coaster wise for a few years!
Exactly
USF really needs a coaster
As a BTTF fan, I would love to see and ride this!
Me too! Thanks for watching!!
Good call on the apartment aspect. But UO was built before the apartments :)
As much as I'd love to see a back to the future themed ride. I would rather they theme it to F&F so that they can keep that IP in the park and mirror Hollywood. Then replace F&F Supercharged with something better, a win win.
I've heard that the simpsons area is going to close and not be renewed soon for the BTTF coaster will replace it due to the Disney dispute
I wish B&M (builders of the Incredible Hulk Coaster) would work with Universal again. I think B&M broke business ties with Universal with the demolition of Dragons Challenge.
this prediction was so good that if it doesn't come true i'm gonna be disappointed
That would be great universal studios needs a new roller coaster but what are they replacing fear factor with they should put a roller coaster there Iv always dream of a roller coaster Been in that location
Meanwhile, Universal studios Hollywood only gets kids attraction like Mario's world 😂😂😂.
Mack exteme spinner? They are working with mack for epic universe so why not?
It could be that...
Honestly, I think the Men in Black ride along with the Simpsons area with be replaced with a Pokémon themed land. I think it should at least.
