The KOA is a fantastic option for groups of 6 or more. Cabins have two full baths! That’s where we stayed until we moved close by. There are nice hotels in Ashland for those that want to be closer to the park. Short Pump is a nice area. Thanks for another great vid of my home park.
To this day The Berserker is still the scariest ride I've ever been on! So many great memories at KD, looking forward to trying the refurbed Grizzly...which benefits greatly from setting and a killer name!
Great video Brandon! 😁👍👍👍👏👏👏 Even though my home park isn’t Kings Dominion, these tips are essentially helpful to anyone that’s planning a trip to the park.
Something to add, the new Red Roof Inn and the new Days Inn. which is the old hotel that is in the king's dominion parking lot is now open and is fully redone. It's also got a great Mexican restaurant which has amazing food and very well priced. Next time you come to the park Brandon you should do a review on that new property, I have met the owners, and they are very nice.
Couple of thoughts, the experience at the hotels on the exit to the north of KD were some of my worst experiences renting a room. Go south to the Ashland exit and there is a Quality Inn and Suites that I had a decent stay in. I-305 can get a 30-45 min line on the summer weekends. I always have to do my trips as weekend trips, and I recommend fast lane especially if you want those night rides. One of the best night rides ever as well. Reptilian is also a big deal with fast lane, the capacity is terrible on it. I actually didn't find a fast lane for Apple Zapple, maybe I missed it but I was under the impression that there wasn't one.

My autistic 12 year old recently rode his first roller coaster at a small park near us and now he is hooked! Planning a trip for our family when school gets out in about a month.

Do you think they will remove Anaconda for 2025 and/or get a new flat ride in the area. If they retheme Backlot Stunt Coaster and Intimidator 305 (Project 305) I do not see the unpleasant Arrow staying around for much longer. There have been markers around Backlot Stunt Coaster, Anaconda, and Excavator's Taters. I do not see them retheming Flight of Fear however since it got an upgrade in 2024.
When I was 11, I almost flew out of the grizzly because my dad was too fat to put the bar down all the way, and I was too skinny to be fully secured in. He luckily grabbed my arm and yanked me down on the first drop, and then held onto me for the rest of the ride. Very interesting father daughter moment.
Was visiting family in Virginia during the weekday couple weeks ago. Wish KD was operating that time and definitely would have went. At least BGW was and had a great time there.
kings dominion is the best. the best time to go in my opinion is EASTER not alot of people and 2 water rides are open the water log and white water canyon
If you can ride Dominator before the rest of the park is open, do so if you want to ride it before mid-afternoon. Avoid Saturdays and certain holidays and you should have a good time. Nights can be amazing. Would recommend Border's over Victoria's food, although can be slow. And although I rarely wait extra for it, '305 front row is a must.

They’ve retracted almost the entire coaster over the last two offseasons. If you haven’t ridden since then, you need to give it another shot
Grizzly is much better since it was retracked. Although I tend to enjoy Twisted Timbers more.
@@Sliipjack Retracking isn't going to fix Grizzly's layout. Other than the first drop in the back the coaster is boring w/ slow turnarounds.
