I backed this on Kickstarter before I had found this channel. Thanks Stu, you have affirmed my confidence in the purchase - less than 2 weeks to shipping date now... Exciting stuff
Backed it a few weeks ago, £164. I wanted a ring for the same reason as you. I currently wear a smart watch and that stops me from wearing some of the lovely watches I have acquired over the years and the only thing I really track is heartrate, steps and sleep so this will do nicely. Love your presentation style by the way, very Clarkson :)
Almost bought the Galaxy Ring so I could ditch the smartwatch but screw that £399 price tag when this costs less than half of that, looks better and does more!
Whelp sir... you've accomplished what you've set out to achieve. You've officially received a thumbs up and subscription from this guy. Well done on the content and you've convinced me to purchase a Ringconn Gen 2.
Great review into the Ringconn 2, I also found it a bit funny about always see your doctor you are worried etc… Today trying to get an appointment for your doctor is unbearable tough with doctors only doing phone then deciding if you need to be seen😅😅
I have been using a super cheap Chinese Smart ring and quite honestly I love them as an idea, but quite often find they get more in the way than something like the WHOOP strap will especially when weightlifting, the RingConn seems like a pretty compelling little device especially as whoop is costing me £200+ a year! Living the content as always Stu!
Yeah 100%, rings aren’t ideal for weightlifting, and general manual tasks, more of a safety thing than anything… it’s good practice to remove rings before doing anything that could possibly cause problems! For me it’s about the constant health measurements when I don’t want to wear a watch 👌
i am an original backer of Gen1 and love it but Activity tracking HR is crap. They released GEN without fixing accuracy. I wont be updating until this is fixed. Agree with all your comments as well as App improvements
Big fan of original Ringconn - got it off Kickstarter but just had to be patient as it took a while for them to work through what was a big customer list. Battery life for the original does six and a bit days and the readings are consistent. No subscription is a big plus over others. The health insights are pretty solid too.
Yeah I agree - two things I’d love to see in smart rings are programmable NFC for door locks etc, and contactless payment support. Looking forward to the future of the tech!
More likely Oura 4 will have it as last year they purchased a company called Proxy that deals with payments and authentications but that Oura subscription is a huge turn off
Yeah, don’t get me wrong, I love oura (especially the software), but the subscription fees are crippling and the technology is falling behind quite a bit. The RingConn gen 2 is so much thinner than the oura 3, with battery life that is so much better… and if rumours are anything to go by it doesn’t look like oura are changing the form factor that much. I guess we will find out!
I am very tempted by this. I may have missed it in the review however does it feed its data into Apple Health or is is all kept within Rincon’s own app?
Buy it, and pay a fee after 8 months. Due to the company being bought by ... Oneplus? On a sidenote, the battery life makes me want to buy it. Same as my Huawei smart watch.
I mean theres always a chance... i'd think it a slim chance though as most of these bigger companies tend to buy out the tech at the research phase rather than full blown product phase!
@@StusReviewsUK It's sorted then, I'll just research an even smaller version of this, with better battery life. And go knock, knock, knocking on Samsung's door. 💰
“I’ve stopped using my other beautiful watches because of wearing my Apple Watch all the time. I ordered the this same ring yesterday, and as soon as it arrives, I’m going to take off my smartwatch and sell it.”
Well, I’m not convinced that a ring can fully replace a decent smart watch. Especially fitness features are a common weakness of smart rings. GPS tracking? No way. The rings are ok for sleep tracking and giving a general information of your health. At least not for me, I’d never give up my Garmin (the Epix 2 Pro is a pretty sexy smart watch btw) for a smart ring. But in the end it all depends on your personal requirements.
@@claustriebenbacher2077 I do brisk walking for 30 minutes every day. Isn’t this smart ring sufficient for calculating the calories I’ve burned and the steps I’ve taken? I’m asking because I don’t know.
I wish companies would release normally 🤦♂️. On the flip side I can appreciate the benefits for the brands… it means that they can manufacture to demand rather than manufacture to guesswork.
It's the second period the device so it's pretty much fine to back it and get it cheaper. Sometimes a bit of research is needed before jumping to conclusions but that's the internet these days
‘Pretty much fine’ sums it up… Regardless of a companies past history of successful releases and campaigns, with kickstarter the brand *unarguably* has the ability to pull the plug, not ship anything and no one would be able to do anything about it - that’s just part of the terms of kickstarter. I’m not suggesting they will - I’m stating that they *could* . I wouldn’t be a responsible creator if I didn’t ask people to consider the implications and possibilities that kickstarter themselves make very clear on their website.
If it were a preorder, then it would be done through the appropriate channels that protects consumers. Launching on kickstarter doesn’t offer the same consumer protection as if purchasing from the manufacturer directly. If you’re confused, you might want to actually read the terms of kickstarter launches; www.kickstarter.com/trust Again, it’s my responsibility to highlight this.

same in my case - very excited!
If it wasn't for Stu I wouldn't have found out smart rings even existed for at least another 5 years.
Bringing the new, to you, by Stu.

Trust me, you’re going to love it in that case! This type of tech is ideal for people with our use case 👍👍
I asked my girlfriend "Who is this talking?"
"Clarkson - well, it's not but it sounds very similar"
My thoughts exactly.
Long may you reign Stu x

I know right - it’s some super stiff competition!

First smart ring that I’m genuinely interested in
Honestly, it’s an impressive piece of kit with excellent value!
Thanks for the review. I've been eye balling this ring for a while and I'm seriously considering buying it. 👍🏼🇺🇲
Appreciate this video, purchased one and hoping it’s as good as claimed
You’re not going to be disappointed 👌
You’re really smashing out videos at a rate of knots of late young man
Same speed as my hairline receding coincidentally 👀

I think I'll stick to Colmi smart ring for now lol. Thanks this video, very informative as always.

totally agree with you. The Activity tracker as been badly neglected and HR whilst exercising is sooooo bad
When are they gonna do a smart ring with NFC
When that happens, im in.
Great vid as ever Stu

My bad, I might have forgotten to mention this - yes it does support both Apple health and google fit. 👍

Does it sync with Samsung health or Google fit?
Don't know about SH, but GF it does and also with AH too. 👍
@@StusReviewsUK Thanks for the info. As long as the app has one of those I can use googles health connect app to sync all my data =D
I was in until the kickstarter reveal.

Eh, it’s like a pre-order in this case since they ship right after the campaign.
