    Have you thought about having the inlet angled more so the flow is going towards the cylinder more.
    On the late rotary valve kart engines they moved the drive sprocket to the ignition side ( the opposite side to where it normally is) so they could fire the charge flow up in to the cylinder more. Have a look at the IAME TT39 (later model), Rotax DSE-L and there was a Comer engine to.

    • @2STROKESTUFFING
      @2STROKESTUFFING  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      +Devinder Athwal Thanks! I have, and others have mentioned it too. First I thought the difference would be miniscule, but as you pointed out, if they went to the trouble of relocating the drive sprocket it can't be. Definitely on my list of things to try!

    Aren't you worried about the gasket sealing by the top of the intake port? It looked to me like i could see some light between the top of the case and the gasket... unless the cover for the rotary calve seals against the cylinder when it's bolted to the case?

    When cutting carbon-fiber, keep wet the piece so the dust get trapped in the watter instead of going to your lugs, a proper mask is recomended, that dust is dangerouse for the lugs.

Difficult to say from outside but it seems. It is a easy mistero, i usuale write an Arrow help helping to put on right sense. A question, watch timing you use, i mean before/after tdc? An idea for the future once you've got this motor running ok, is a slash cut to the opening edge of the disc. Nicely represented by this superkart engine: www.pvpkart.com/252%20RH%20with%20disk%20valve%202017.jpg. With this the port opens first at the bottom.
    Have you managed to model your engine in Engmod2t to your satisfaction?

    • @2STROKESTUFFING
      @2STROKESTUFFING  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      +cara vaggio Yep, it's modeled in engmod. Matched reality pretty good before porting. The problem with my upside-down setup is the opening edge of the intake port is almost horizontal, no matter what shape I cut the disc it will always open top first. The remedy would be to flip it around, might do that if(when)I build a new frame for it.

    You shouldn't fast forward so much on the editing. If I'm going to watch a 10 minute video of this I'll watch a 1 hour video of this.

    Weld in the tungsten slugs? Weld over them? Or are you going to stake it into place by peen-ing the metal around it? Tungsten doesn't like welding, it could be brazed I guess.

      +Toaster Chicken I welded them in with flux core(!) last time and believe it or not it held up! Probably going that route this time too. The slugs are some kind of alloy(actually derby car weights), and fused fine with steel.
