      I don't think he meant it to be racist. Many times when people speak a language that is not their first language, the accent is comical. Plus seriously speaking English isn't really a race thing, it's a language thing. And as far as Hebrew goes, the original speakers of the language would probably find any of us speaking it funny. Since the language was considered a dead language til around the time of WW2.

    Since Monday I've been really working on listening. I prayed for the Lord to help me listen. I have a hard time listening to others, I struggle with interrupting, and I often am thinking of a response in my head before they are finished talking. Most importantly I wanted guidance on how to listen to the Lord. I even wrote down Lord, teach me to LISTEN. It's now Sunday, I have been reading all week in my Bible about listening. It's 11:41 on Sunday night, and I just watched this video. So many lightbulbs are going off in my head! Thanks for this video. So awesome I watched this after a week of really working on listening.

    This helped make sense of so much, including this:
    “Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand.”
    ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭13:13‬ ‭KJV‬‬

  • @transcendentalaesthetic
    @transcendentalaesthetic 5 ปีที่แล้ว +13

    What I LOVE about this video is it really clarifies Matthew 13:10-16:
    "And the disciples came and said to Him, 'Why do You speak to them in parables?'
    He answered and said to them, 'Because it has been given to you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it has not been given. For whoever has, to him more will be given, and he will have abundance; but whoever does not have, even what he has will be taken away from him. Therefore I speak to them in parables, because seeing they do not see, and hearing they do not hear, nor do they understand. And in them the prophecy of Isaiah is fulfilled, which says:
    ‘Hearing you will hear and shall not understand,
    And seeing you will see and not perceive;
    For the hearts of this people have grown dull.
    ears are hard of hearing,
    And their eyes they have closed,
    Lest they should see with eyes and hear with ears,
    Lest they should understand with hearts and turn,
    So that I should heal them.’
    But blessed your eyes for they see, and your ears for they hear; for assuredly, I say to you that many prophets and righteous desired to see what you see, and did not see and to hear what you hear, and did not hear it.' " (NKJV)

      I understand that Hebrew people do not say the name of God, but use "Hashem". As a believer in Christ Jesus, living under Grace, I can certainly say out loud, "YAWEY", but mostly God the Father is known as "ABBA" as Jesus called him, in the New Covenant. Thank you for reading this, just as an FYI of my belief as a Jesus follower... as I read your response as an orthodox Jew.

    • @katlyn2768
      @katlyn2768 7 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      Shirley James A huge reason that Orthodox Jewish people don't say The Name of God is that, it's not "Yahwey." The way The Name is written in Hebrew, it is impossible to pronounce. In order to understand how this is exactly, you'd have to study ancient (Biblical) Hebrew. Or I can take out my Hebrew lessons book and explain it to you. So, no one really knows how to pronounce it, "Yahwey" is just a guess from English speakers (not all that accurate when reading Hebrew words). So, sure you can say "Yahwey" if you'd like, but who's name are you really saying?
      That said, pronouncing The Name is very offensive to the Jewish people, so if you're trying to get them to know Yeshua (Jesus), it won't be very helpful to do so.
      Yeshua/Jesus, by the way, never pronounced The Name of God, because he knew it would have been sin to do so. (What he did in Heaven, we can't know, but we know he followed the Jewish Law on Earth).
      (Love,
      a believer in Jesus, since we're stating that.)

      The traditions of men make the word of no effect. (attempting because the TRUTH of the word is available to them who seek it.) It is insane to believe the Creator of Heaven & Earth will give HIS NAME, give scripture about the importance of the NAME, encourage the chosen to call on His Name; and then make it unable to be pronounced. The truth is the original & true Hebrews had a pronounce-able name. All of that culture mixing, man made doctrine caused the pronunciation to be missed. YAHUAH knows and can impart it again the way HE did the first time. He is the same.

    Excellent video - merely listening to God's word or listening to a sermon with no heart motive to obey is what made me a false convert for 34 years - but hearing and obeying God's Word from the heart with ears that were opened by God to hear His Word is what resulted in true salvation and a true sanctifying walk with Jesus - God's command has always been: obey and be blessed; disobey and be cursed - praise God for his grace and mercy to hear AND obey. • @Stark7Ghost
      @Stark7Ghost 7 ปีที่แล้ว +20

      Mi Les Thank you for that, good explanation. However, I know what is meant by "fear the Lord", it was more for those who don't. The kind of fear you're talking about is called felial fear. Felial fear, is the fear of disappointing someone you love and respect, rather than fear someone because of punishment or being afraid.

    • @Stark7Ghost

      Geovana Assis Yes I know that the Old Testament prophesies Jesus throughout. What I meant was the EVENTS are identical in all 3. Also Muslims don't believe in a different God. It's the same God only different beliefs when it comes to Jesus and Muslims then follow Muhammad. Judaism and Christianity is also identical in everything when it comes to believing in God in the Old Testament. Only difference is Old Testament was God focusing on the Jews and from Paul onward He focused on the gentiles. Also you do know that Christians also reject the Trinity right?

      Researching leads to freedom from the confusion and lies. The truth stands on its own and does not fear investigation, while lies try to use scare tactics to keep people from thinking for themselves.

    Fun fact.
    They word "obey" in English sounds harsh. (Maybe just for someone who didn't grew up with English.)
    In German as well as in Russian "obey" derives from "listen".

      agree, shema sounds easier too.

      I had to think about that one for a minute, but then realized that you are right. “To obey” translates to “gehorchen” in German, an old German way of saying to hear (now “hören”). “Horch” is translated to “Audi” in Latin, by the way.

      Avel Yagudaev the epistles were not written in hebrew there is no evidence of this and no reason for this. the apostles would probably have used galilee aramaic in that case of writing to the hebrews, but the most likely is that it is koine greek, which was the common mans language throughout anatolia, greece, and the rest of the west; these were the churches they were writing to and would probably understand and have more speakers of koine greek than any aramaic dialect or hebrew.

    Funnily enough this video pops up on my page as I am busy with 1 Kings chapter 8 and the word "hear" appeared multiple times. It immediately reminded me of "Hear O Israel" as I did Deuteronomy not so long ago. I had no idea that "hear" was actually so deep. And that it is to listen carefully and obey. I read that the Lord delights more in obedience and not sacrifices not so long ago. And Deuteronomy says that God asks that we fear Him,walk in obedience to Him and love Him and serve Him. I have been struggling lately but I will try to not only hear,but listen carefully and follow. Thank you for this Bible Project . God bless you brothers and sisters in Christ.

    "But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves." --James 1:22 (ESV)
    One may easily think they love God if they have heard or know His Word. But this is merely self-deception if one is not acting upon (or truly "Shema") what they know. James says that this deception is like someone looking into a mirror and seeing exactly what the problem you have is, yet failing to do anything about it (failure to "Shema"). As 1 John would point out, we really do not love God or know Him intimately if we are not obeying ("Shema") His commandments. (Note: "...His commandments are not burdensome.")
    "And this commandment we have from him: whoever loves God must also love his brother." --1 John 4:21 (ESV)
    What is love? ... See 1 Corinthians 13 for a good Biblical definition.
    Conclusion: We ought to love God by doing ("Shema") what He has said in loving our brothers and sisters in Christ and in keeping ("Shema") His commandments.
    "We love, because He first loved us." --1 John 4:19 (NASB)

    Thanks for uploading another video, this is awesome!
    I have an idea for another word study video that may be controversial. I would so appreciate if you would research the word "baptize" throughout the Bible, or perhaps if you would do an explanation video of the concept of salvation, focusing on how an individual receives it. I've heard the argument that baptism into water doesn't deliver salvation, but the Bible makes it very clear that baptism into water is the only way to be saved (Matt 28:19, Acts 2:38, Eph 4:5, 1 Peter 3:21, and every conversion in Acts). I don't mean to start a war, and although I'm deeply rooted in this conviction of mine, I'd love to get your opinion because you two, Tim and Jon, are clearly well-versed on the Bible.
    Great thanks from a loyal sub :)

    • @drooskie9525

      Water Baptism doesn't save you. There is 3 kinds of baptisms in the bible.
      Water Baptism. Spirit Baptism. Fire Baptism.
      Water baptism is symbolic. Spirit baptism is the "born again" part. Fire Baptism is the connection from Spirit Baptism, it's what gives you the real power. Speaking in tongues and such.
