I agree, the rainbow union would almost certainly have leapt to their feet as one and applauded 'true love' between human beings if a woman had done that. 🙄
Males footballers snog each other after a goal regularly. I've seen a goalscorer literally mobbed by hugs and kisses without complaining. Never mind claiming assault
Dont know why everybody is so annoyed, after the kiss she was smiling, so hardly upset, it was a heat of the moment thing, the way its been portrayed is digusting.
Yes, she was smiling and later she is shown in a jubilant state of mind on the bus. These women on the panel are right: it was not sexual in nature. It seems that any close contact between powerful men and women now risks being characterised as both sexual and unwelcome unless there is prior written consent.
I’m elderly, in my youth I’ve been kissed spontaneously about 6 times, I wouldn’t call it being assaulted, you just get caught up in the moment. Why make such a big thing of it, everyone is a victim nowadays.
My goodness if I totted up such moments in my life I'd need a long sheet of paper. I'm in my sixties now. I've had far worse happen and dealt with It . What's traumatising about it?
Because it is a boss. I'd have felt horrible if my boss had done that. The media has made a fuss. He should have apologised and said he'd learned from it, but he has chosen to step down rather than taking time to reconsider.
And if a exuberant female head goes on to kiss a male football player if they won the world cup, this supposed law will not apply. I can understand the hysteria if it was a woman at the back end, but law still don't and won't see the two genders as equal.
No, but what has followed in the subsequent 3 weeks definitely is criminal, and that is why the Spanish prosecutor has decided to prosecute that as a criminal offence. Learn to read.
@@bygoneera9521 Well, a public prosecutor (that is an official position, obviously) in the Spanish government *has* been following it closely, and she has applied to a judge for permission to charge him with criminal conduct over it. Which adds a really interesting dimension to why he decided (after refusing to resign for 20 days) to fly to London and announce his resignation to Piers Morgan, of all people. I could be wrong, but i don't see any connection between Morgan and Spanish football (aside from his attempt to stick his oar into something of which he understands next to nothing, I would guess). He's an Arsenal fan. When was the last time he attended a Barcelona F.C. match?
If her and her team mates weren't celebrating the kiss then I'd buy that she was offended. This is very much a case of forcing her to pretend to be offended for another fascist feminist agenda and for you media lot to have something to talk about

There was ZERO sexuality around it 💯 If the bird can't handle that then get out of the club!! This is football for crying out loud and it's majority a lads game, if you can't take something like that which again was just like a Father kissing his daughter, then she needs to not be doing this sport 🤷🏻♀️ If she felt that bad about it then she should have made it clearer then and there
If you really are a survivor of DV then you should have a bit more empathy for a young woman saying she didn't like how she was treated. But no, you exhibit your own internalised misogyny. She is not a bird, she's a young woman. She's also doesn't have to agree to be forcibly kissed in order to play football. And this isn't "a majority lads [sic] game", it was the apex of women's football - nothing to do with men. And finally I don't know what your father did to you, but if my father had kissed me like that it would most definitely not be okay. And for the record I'm a DV survivor and Latin and no this isn't a cultural thing either.
I agree with @tc6758, that survivors of sexual assault should have a bit more empathy. Personally, I would not like any man or woman grabbing my head in a vice-like grip and planting a kiss on my lips. I don't think he meant anything sexual, and I think he was just carried away in the excitement of the moment. I feel the outcome would have been different if he'd apologised immediately, acknowledged that women can feel uncomfortable with that type of interaction, assured people that he'd learned from it, and made a sincere apology to the woman. Claiming that there was consent is problematic under the circumstances. If he was acting on the advice of a legal team it is them who should be sacked.
As a survivor of child sex abuse, I say that she’s is a victim of it’s how she feels. Who are you to decide who is a victim and who is not? You need to learn humility and empathy.
Totally Ridiculous, is what this scenario is, Feminism at its worst. I, as a woman am sick to death of these types of women always moaning and being derisive about men. They certainly do not represent any women l know?😮 Its all gone too far!!! He made a mistake as many of us do at times, with an over zealous show of affection, which was at the worst a stupid thing to do, obviously as the result has lost him his job, apart from all the abuse he is getting.😮
Credit to the whole panel. All coming from different perspectives, but listening to, and respectfully disagreeing and debating with each other so we can all do the mental gymnastics and work out right from wrong. Really useful conversation.
The footage from the team coach after where they're all laughing and joking about it is damning, Hermoso showing teammates memes about it whilst smiling, then when Rubiales gets on the coach they all start chanting "Beso! Beso!" which means "Kiss! Kiss!", and Hermoso jokingly asks if she can have another one to which Rubiales replies laughing "Stop it you're making me blush!" Only afterwards when the agenda drivers took it and ran and the woke monster stirred from it's slumber like Cthulhu did they have a problem with it, probably because they realised they could make money from the story by becoming professional victims.
Yes, that sounds about right. It would appear that others were far more offended than her and that has been picked up on and I think she felt pressured into making a complaint. Did she honestly ask him for another one? Where did you see that?
Wouldn't it be a sad irony if the main problem was that members of that community were worried that she might have been having a change of heart regarding her total rejection of all males ... ??
Holy crap! That was what went down afterwards?!? Well in that case, 100% he should not have resigned. That Hermoso is quite malicious then .. she has cynically turned the whole thing around and used it to get him fired and (presumably) make money!
Someone makes a silly mistake caught up in the moment and in typical fashion with thrse modern times he's demonised and thrown under the bus. If a Woman done that to a man no one would give a toss
Stop screwing over good men. If a conversation was needed, it should have been done privately between the two of them. This was not a crime against the woman or indeed society at large. This was a celebratory kiss after accomplishing a huge feat in a culture that commonly shows affection to and for one another. An act of violence, it was not. An act if sexual assault, it was not. Stop pretending that it was. To do so, is a disgrace to all those who genuinely experience one or both of them.
Lesson learned: if you are a male in a senior role in ANY business, don’t employ any woman in any role under any circumstances… it’s simply not worth it
You can hire them just don’t socialize with them. But then you’ll probably get in trouble for ignoring them and not making them feel valued. You have to learn to socialize robotically.

A kiss on the lips is personal and intimate . A kiss on the cheek is not , as long as the hands are not in inappropriate places . He loved when streakers did there thing at the cricket and saw Hair , three times . Yuk !
Men haven’t had to fight for anything…not the right to vote, not for equal pay, not to be treated with respect. You can’t compare the two scenarios. That’s ridiculous. No one in a position of power should test their employees personal boundaries. This guy has a history of lewd and offensive behavior. Sounded like he needed to be called out.
If the genders were reversed ie if she kissed him we would never have heard anything about this. Perhaps one day we will indeed achieve gender equality but this will certainly not be anytime soon.

@@Rob-eg8qc I get you, and you are right. But, you were never going to grab a woman's head with both hands and plant a kiss on her lips without making sure that is what she wanted, were you? Especially as you are a "gentleman". But yes, the reaction to the Rubiales kiss is a massive over reaction - it was a moment of high celebration and Rubiales forgot how to conduct himself in the moment. It wasn't sexual, he wasn't flexing his power, it was just celebration - obviously. An apology, with a minor reprimand should have been enough. And the actions of Hermoso on the bus afterwards show just how cynical the fauz outrage is.
If Rubiales had immediately apologised for what he did, saying that he was caught up in the moment, it is quite likely that he would have kept his job and the matter would have blown over. However he turned the whole matter into being about him, not about the woman. Unfortunately what he did has overshadowed the victory of the Spanish women in the World Cup.
Couldn’t she also have taken this approach instead of ruining his career? Yeah I was a little taken back however we did just win the World Cup so understandable the emotion just got the better of him. No big deal!
sure they wanted him out and got him out he said on the bus while the women were laughing that he was embarrassed or did you miss that convenient that not brought up it was at the moment thing and they all seemed to find it funny and were winding him up
Nah; the moment he apologised it wouldn't have made a difference, an apology is admission of guilt and wrong-doing, this would not have changed the outcome. secondly, this was only an issue when everyone else took issue with it, there was not an immediate outcry from the Spanish player; because she knew exactly what it was. Kissing etiquette, and Spain greet and congratulate in this way, sure it's usually on the cheek.. but i doubt she feels he was so in the wrong; that he lost his position; and deserves 2 years in jail?
Yeah, I'm glad I'm not young now. Life was much more straightforward in my day. We knew how to deal with unwanted advances without any drama. Not that this was an advance, just a spontaneous display of celebration.

I don't know if Hermoso is gay but , if she is, and she'd been kissed on the lips by a female official would there be the same furore ? No. Of course there wouldn't.
I completely believe he got caught up in the moment, and I don’t think there was any sexual intent HOWEVER if I did something well in work and my CEO gave me a kiss, it would be completely inappropriate and I definitely would not be ok with it. Even the thought of it turns my stomach 🤢
Agreed! But there's a huge difference between winning a cup final and a regular office job. Totally different environments and they cant be compared. People are blowing it out of proportion.
Well, “gave a kiss” is a bit imprecise. In my country it is / it was customary to give 2 kisses on the cheek either man to woman, woman to woman, woman to men. Kiss on the mouth of course is not customary between friends and acquaintances, or in professional settings. So case this ever happened a CEO kissing someone in the mouth, of course one would expect an apology, and, apology or no apology the normal course of action would be report the incident to HR. My opinion, demanding immediate resignation of CEO, or accusing CEO of sexual assault (over a kiss), is not the correct way of procedure. If the CEO do have a history of similar misconduct then that’s another matter, but it’s HR to act, the firms legal system, if all these fails externals entities like police.

I remember people giving out about david Beckham kissing his daughter the world gone mad it should just be between the player and the president to sort it out even myself have seen people interfering into things and stirring the pot
I remember watching Top of the Pops years ago as a child when it was live. There was an incident on there and I could sense, almost immediately, that the woman who had been touched by the DJ was not comfortable with it at all and that something seriously bad had just happened. I have tried to do a comparison between that and what happened after the World Cup Final. Far from being offended or upset by it the player appeared to just go with the mood at the time. I think it should be pointed out that many strangers do actually kiss each other on the lips at New Year. It's not unpleasant at all if both parties are ok with it. Did that incident at the WC honestly bear any resemblance to the assault that I saw years ago? No, it didn't. What has really irritated me about this saga is that I believe that the player, Jenny, was actually told, in no uncertain terms, that she should have absolutely hated it! Would that have been a jealous partner, one wonders? Or perhaps other players/supporters who have openly declared that they are only interested in same sex relationships forsaking all men in the process? The way this snowballed was utterly sickening. It became a psychological battle ground for something far too close to a terrorist mob baying for blood because a straight male had the audacity to kiss one of the 'other side' .... ?? You would appear to have a case of a heterosexual man having his career ruined as an appeasement and currently, you would also appear to have women and girls being hated on by people who are most likely not heterosexuals (and their whims being pandered to) to the extent of it now being suggested that >> the words woman or girl are cancelled
Although i agree the way the girls behave towards it on the bus weakens the argument, she was recorded immediately after saying she 'didn't like it but what could she do', it is also possible to hold multiple emotions at any one time. Everybody conveniently overlooks that Rubiales & the Spanish FA fabricated a statement on Hermoso's behalf which is just straight up fraudulent.
@@NapoleonicWargaming So why was that assault left in? I find that extraordinary and I always believed that was the only reason it was shown because it would have been difficult to edit it out. As for the Spanish FA, the fact that they were willing to use pre-WC events in this issue with heads rolling says a lot about their petty & highly politicised behaviour. She did not give consent, she was overwhelmed by the moment and could not react. In Spanish culture, kissing on the lips is reserved for romantic relationships-wife, husband, girlfriend, boyfriend -but not even family would kiss on the lips, it is only usual to hug, shake hands and hug. The kiss wasn’t the biggest issue. The RFEF’s treatment of Hermoso and the other Spanish players was the problem. The treatment of the Spanish players before this even happened is the issue. 15 Spanish players refused to play for the national team in September because of the RFEF’s treatment of them. 21 players refused to accept a call up for the nations league until there was a restructuring of the RFEF, they were called up anyway and threatened with suspension if they refused. They found out about their call up in the press conference no personal contact with players. It’s bigger than just a kiss
It's crazy how anyone tried to defend this. Would this ever be allowed in a workplace? Even in consentual relationships in a workplace, there are issues about appropriateness in the workplace, but this wasn't a consentual act. If your daughter was kissed on the lips by the CEO of her company in a non consentual way would you still be defending it? The power dynamics are also very inappropriate and maybe she might not have felt able to reject him in this moment. Even outside of a workplace, is it ever acceptable to kiss another person on the lips without consent? All she wants to do is play football for her country, why should she have to deal with this? I definitely don't want to have to worry about someone kissing me on the lips at work. Why would you not believe her? It looks inappropriate, she said she didn't like it, she was happy because she won the world cup, but it doesn't mean she wasn't also feeling violated and once the Joy of the win wore off, it's totally okay to be left in a bit of shock of the kiss when looking back.
In the workplace, there is nothing that even compares to the joy and effort that comes from winning something like this. Stop bowing to the mob and recognize real crime. This isn’t a real crime.

She is not a bird, she's a young woman. She's also doesn't have to agree to be forcibly kissed in order to play football. @@tc6758 Violence and an uncomfortable situation aren’t even close to comparable. Stop trying.

The footage from the team coach after where they're all laughing and joking about it is damning, Hermoso showing teammates memes about it whilst smiling, then when Rubiales gets on the coach they all start chanting "Beso! Beso!" which means "Kiss! Kiss!", and Hermoso jokingly asks if she can have another one to which Rubiales replies laughing "Stop it you're making me blush!"
Only afterwards when the agenda drivers took it and ran and the woke monster stirred from it's slumber like Cthulhu did they have a problem with it, probably because they realised they could make money from the story by becoming professional victims.
Yes, that sounds about right. It would appear that others were far more offended than her and that has been picked up on and I think she felt pressured into making a complaint. Did she honestly ask him for another one? Where did you see that?

Especially as you are a "gentleman". But yes, the reaction to the Rubiales kiss is a massive over reaction - it was a moment of high celebration and Rubiales forgot how to conduct himself in the moment. It wasn't sexual, he wasn't flexing his power, it was just celebration - obviously. An apology, with a minor reprimand should have been enough. And the actions of Hermoso on the bus afterwards show just how cynical the fauz outrage is.
You are comparing holding a door for a woman to a boss kissing an employee at work? Now that is blowing something out of proportion.
If Rubiales had immediately apologised for what he did, saying that he was caught up in the moment, it is quite likely that he would have kept his job and the matter would have blown over. However he turned the whole matter into being about him, not about the woman. Unfortunately what he did has overshadowed the victory of the Spanish women in the World Cup.

sure they wanted him out and got him out he said on the bus while the women were laughing that he was embarrassed or did you miss that convenient that not brought up it was at the moment thing and they all seemed to find it funny and were winding him up
Nah; the moment he apologised it wouldn't have made a difference, an apology is admission of guilt and wrong-doing, this would not have changed the outcome. secondly, this was only an issue when everyone else took issue with it, there was not an immediate outcry from the Spanish player; because she knew exactly what it was. Kissing etiquette, and Spain greet and congratulate in this way, sure it's usually on the cheek.. but i doubt she feels he was so in the wrong; that he lost his position; and deserves 2 years in jail?

That bird in the yellow is mad. Imagine being involved with her.
This is all rubbish, not sexual at all,in front of thousands of people Rubiales was euphoric because of the victory he was caught in the moment.and it’s just a smack.
😂 Even after issuing a statement, people still felt his apology was not heartfelt or sorry enough. My god
It is football. Players are always jumping all over each other!
Contrary to the "Proud Socalist" is the "Proud Conservative", as it is noted that he has not set foot in a Conservative dictatorial country, such as Nazi Germany, Pinochet's Chile, the Argentina of the Military Junta, Uruguay, Petain's France, the Musolini's Italy, and Franco's Spain.
I have set foot in a country like Sweden with a long social democratic tradition and Sweden is the envy of many citizens of countries with a conservative tradition.
I have never voted for a socialist or communist party, but I have been educated to respect the opponent, because not everything is good or bad.
Respect is the key word
Mafia Bosses used to kiss on the lips.
Brothers who have not seen each other for long time can kiss . There some countries is where men kissing men during celebrations do kiss.
And this does not make them gay.
Way to take away the achievement of the other 10 players
Me,me,me
Haven't you forgotten in the same situation... euforia ,men kiss other men and nothing happens but here it was political convenience check who start this and why is a very good distraction of something more important that is going on in Spanish politics, besides it is crazy to call sexual assault a kiss is to diminish the real assault, it is a shame ,lately everything is out of context, if i was Jennifer hermoso i will be ashamed to let them used me in this way
This has been the Biggest Fuss over the smallest silliest thing that I have ever seen ....E V E R......Media has showed it in Slow Motion constantly to make it look worse too.
I recall seeing a clip with Geri Halliwell touching Prince Charles on the bottom back in the 90s, an Italian female reporter publicly attempting to grab David Beckham's crotch, and Katy Perry making unwanted advances by kissing a 19 year old contestant on the lips during America Idol, and who can forget the somewhat awkward Madonna kissing Drake on stage. Those instances seem so easily forgotten/ignored, yet whenever there's an allegation against men, even ignoring any context is labelled an abuser!
The footballer has tainted the worlds women football.
I wonder if the players hugged and kissed each other when the final whistle blew - and if so did they all get permission first?
This has wipped out all the women's football team had achieved in one woke move 👏 😳 👍 people will not want to watch it now aftervthis nonsense 🙄 own goal girls 🙄
I've lived and worked in Spain, and people do not kiss you on the lips. Context being sexual or not is not the point. It's Left cheeck, right cheeck, but not on the LIPS
I bet Rubiales wishes England had won ! 😂
@@SixFour0391 Winning a £50 million contract, completing a multi-billion pound merger, winning a multi-billion licence deal...There's plenty I've been a part of that's as big if not bigger than this. Yet no men were forcibly kissing younger female staff - we just all went down the pub and had a drink together. The crime here was the harassment she suffered and his threats AFTER she said she didn't like the kiss because that was abuse of power.
@@tc6758 It was his way of celebrating. No malice was intended. Nor was he abusing his power. He was celebrating with his team. He was sharing in the moment. It’s also part of common Spanish culture to embrace someone like that.
If you need more than 5 minutes to figure out if a crime or violence was committed, then it wasn’t. You don’t get to decide if something was violent, based on your mood of the day, days or weeks later. That’s cruel and unusual.
@@tc6758 And not everybody behaves the same way, though there are common styles of interaction.
Just because you didn’t act a certain way, doesn’t mean that someone else won’t. While both are acceptable ways of behaving.
And if this woman didn’t like it, she should have handled it like an adult and not a scared, manipulated little girl that needs other people to fight her everyday battles for her.
Talk to him in private and request that he doesn’t interact with her like that again. No public shaming or retribution for an innocent display of happiness, joy and gratitude.
I didn’t see any signs of distress to that woman until she was got at. Women’s football will not survive because of this. They will not attract the good men mentors. What about the girls who are not gay being kissed by the women in the line up? Next scandal in my opinion.
Isn't this the way sports people behave? After all this blow over, she may very well come out and change her story. Many times they do.
it was not a snog on the lips, and it was not sexual. it was celebratory.
If the captain hadn't had the support of the public she would have stayed quiet and internally processed it personally. But because she had the support and knew she wasn't going to lose her job she spoke honestly about how she felt. And the fact is if women feel supported they will speak up but for most of us we just keep quiet because we don't have support and it would go against us. And that's it!
Militant feminists are no "support" - they play such a case strategically and without any respect to the individual context.
I wonder why men are turning their backs on women.
He needs to step down, and his behaviour is absolutely UN F-ING ACCEPTABLE. If this is what he does in front of cameras, what is his behaviour in their day to day? Absolutely creepy, unacceptable and he should go. Let's all move on. He obviously shouldn't be criminally charged. One sudden kiss is trying and isn't assault yet.
