Wow Patrick this was brilliant, you get all over, what a tour of the UK you are giving us. My wife always wants to go abroad, and even on short breaks wants to go to cities in Europe, but there are so many stunning places here to see. I must admit my ignorance here,I knew nothing whatsoever of Harlech, not even heard of it,but it is amazing,I love my castles but didn't even know of this one,it's like a scene from a 60's Hollywood knights film set,and the walk is lovely, and it has a beach, and from what I can see,and your clue, that's where they filmed the Prisoner,I wonder if thats the beach where the ball chased them too. When we are free,we are going here for the weekend, and I will surprise my wife with all the things I'v learned there is to see in this film, and that weekend away will be all thanks to you,so when there I'll raise a glass in the pub to you. Thanks so much. Pete.
I came across a good deal at the Travelodge in Porthmadog so I decided to spend a few days there to make a few films in Snowdonia. This is the first and so Harlech was a great place to start. I was seen by some of the local people in Harlech on the day I filmed this back in Oct 2015, and they were delighted that someone was filming their town, so I received some good feedback from them once I posted the video online. I hope you spend a weekend here Pete, you'll love it. Thanks again :)
Although living in Wales for the past 24 years, I've only ever been through Harlech on a bus from Barmouth to Porthmadog, Patrick. You've shown some great views on this video, and especially of the castle at different angles. It's a magnificebnt structure, and I bet that when it was being constructed all those centuries ago, it must've been a mammoth task to build on that rock. The views out to sea with the sand dunes and the background of the Snowdonian mountains,. really give it some charm. The village itself appears to have some nice little shops and that cafe you visited, too, looked inviting. Many thanks for this showing, Patrick.
The first time I went to Harlech was when I was about 20, maybe 21, and there was a Youth Hostel in the village. I remember enjoying my one night's stay there, but when I returned in 2015 to film this, I discovered it was sadly no longer there. Had a great day exploring Harlech when I filmed this. The castle is great on that rock, so impressive. Thanks Ffranc for watching and commenting 👍
Simply wow , what views , even a glance over to port merion too which i know you feature later on mate ....Myself and Lee both said i bet you, ll sleep tonight after that walk by the sea , its a bit of an in gag for us she says to me even when were out but no were near the sea ... always makes me smile ....Ive never been to Harlech Patrick , but i have to say every time you sad Harlech it made me think of the word Dalek... lol ps , dont forget the new series starting this saturday ...And the beach was superb , that fine sand too ... The castle is beautiful and maybe one day i ll travel down to north wales and discover it myself ... As always thanks for sharing Frank and Lee ..
Wales in general is a very special place for me. As you have yourselves noticed the views around the lovely Harlech have the wow factor. I've always liked Harlech when I've visited before so I had to make a film there at some point. Funnily enough I mispronounced the name when I was making this film. It's not Harleck, but Harlech... I really should have known better being partly Welsh myself!! :-) :-) :-) There's a railway station in Harlech so easy to reach by train. I didn't go inside the castle on this occasion but that will be rectified when I go back without the camera, which will hopefully be in the not too distant future. Have a great Easter Frank and Lee. Cheers, Patrick.
Harlech castle. The road up to it is, I believe, amongst the steepest in Europe. Almost gave me a heart attack the last time I ascended it. I’m a life member of the YHA and as you say it’s such a shame that the economic downtime, caused by the greed of the financiers, has led to so many closing over the past few years, Paul Beachcroft

When I was here filming in 2015 a local gentleman informed me about Fford-Pen-Llech, the steepest road, it certainly was. Thanks again Paul :)
