First heard this on Alan Freeman's Saturday Rock Show in the mid '70's. Adored it and bought Triple Echo afterwards. I'm 63 y/o now and still love it just as much as ever. Utter genius.
🎼For a non-English person it is quite the challange to really get into the complete happening; it`s just not the mother speech and as such is easier to get lost in words. My challenge is to again free my mind and absorb. The named mother wás the one that brought my real musical basics home, as she was the one that brought the records home to keep safe after each time she attended the youth social club (the soft machine {first}, ummagumma, close to the edge, harvest, santana) 58 now but feeling like 6 or whatever when reentering the listening mode ✌
I "discovered" her by recommendation of Anoushka Shankar years ago, and followed her since then with delight and amazement. As she more than fullfills the promises, frankly exceeds by large / P.S.: the band here is nicely backing that level
@@jdmresearch Don't forget humor, back then it was almost a crime to include humor in your music. I give Frank Zappa some credit for that. All the Canterbury bands were influenced by him.

IMHO the best version of Moon in June out there. Ratledge rips and this set of lyrics is hilarious.
100% agreed. much better than the LP version.

This peobably the best version I have heard of this, the whimsical lyrics followed by the manic soloing. Absolutely brilliant.
Totally agree. Really great.
Improvised & special in it's uniqueness, nothing like it.
Love the lyrics. Hilarious.

this covers the ultimate concept idea of the canterbury scene
Why's that?
@@diegonline22 Musicianship; earthly, whimsical, unassuming lyrics.

@@7karlheinz True!
heard really a ton of music but this is top 5 everything
Love the John Cage interview reference! "I shan't say one more word so instead I'll play drums..."
Fucking brilliant!
grazie Albert
Sicuramente la migliore versione di Moon in June.

@@FittyshowQui è un po' più jazzistica.
THANK YOU
Incredibly based version
ticky tacky ticky :>)
When Pink Floyd was called "The Pink Floyd", years before they would become rich, irrelevant, megastars.
Esattamente...

Mike Ratledge
@@jasonpp1973 hmmm no i can hear him playing his lowrey organ and there an acoustic piano playing simultaneously
Qui è Ratledge, in Third è Wyatt.
@@donleinoMike, piano one hand, Lowrey the other hand.
