We gotta remember, that part of the reason this season pissed us off so much, is that we kept seeing glimpses of how good the team can be. It's not that the 49ers are bad, it's that the weaknesses the team had bit them so hard that it canceled out all the good we saw. I think between the draft and the schedule we should be very optimistic, but as a 49er Faithful I'm hyped for it no matter what!
I would never trade Shanahan for a 1st and a 3rd. I wouldn't trade him for 3 1st round picks and a 3rd. Has the whole world gone crazy?!! Think back on the dark days! Shanahan is the freakin man!
I think a lot of fans don't think about all the nuance, so they just blame the guy on top. I agree though, the offense & Kyle wasn't the problem this year, even in the red zone it wasn't that Kyle didn't call good plays, it was that players weren't winning matchups early on.
