Nancy fraley (master blender) disclosed she was sick for awhile and fell behind on updating tasting notes. It’s not intentional they no longer post them, she’s just not caught up
I’ve had batches from the 20’s all the way up to batch 130 which I just killed and they’ve all been fantastic. The “reviewers” saying that it’s noticeably worse are exaggerating. At MSRP these are always worth picking up if you haven’t tried one. To me, these don’t drink like a finished bourbon, they just drink like a really really good one, haha. Cheers guys! These used to be around $180 around me but now they’re closer to $210.
Paid 204.99 at total wine today. Definitely catching up to secondary in MSRP.
They don't sit on the shelf in GA. But, they are not hard to get and don't cost above MSRP.
Just pick me up a bottle in Georgia. Batch #251 bottle #139. Will be trying it this weekend.
I live NE of Detroit and picked up my Batch 175 at the local Liquor Store. I think I paid 220-230 something. Also picked up a Murray Hill Club as well. Love them both.

I have five of these, batches ranging from the 90s on up. I just tried the oldest and and newest batch against each other with a buddy over the weekend. The earlier batch was a little better but both were fantastic. These have been a favorite bottle of mine for a few years, right up there with Disco #2 but different.
Got one last week at a Virginia ABC drop. Had to visit 5 locations within the first hour of the drop to find one. Paid retail. $179. $200 with taxes.

I have batch 162 I have yet to crack ( well technically two bottles gave one to my kid because he smokes cigars, but he advised he doesn’t drink anymore so he is going to give it back) I look forward to cracking it. Just got a Batch 172 today in Northern NJ. Got a Batch 128 last year. Got today’s for 184🦌 from TW and 170 last year from a local chain.
just bought batch 185 for $210. Have not cracked it yet but really looking forward to it!
Had some of batch 83 (126pf) and it is a flavor bomb! Unfortunatley I've only seen one in the wild @ $300, Pass. I will say don't sleep on "regular" 100pf JaM $90 and the Murry Hill Club is a great sipper at 103pf $100.
The only one I have ever seen was actually in my little hometown where I can't even get stalwarts like OF 1920 or WT Rare Breed more than once a year! I grabbed it immediately. It was Batch 105 and I paid $208, the most I have ever spent on bottle of anything. However, I would buy another one anywhere around that price, no questions asked. It is truly glorious and rich in flavors!
A grocery store in Amboy, Illinois has five bottles for sale. They are $189.00 and you must also purchase a regular bottle of Magnus for $90.00 or they won't sell you a bottle.
I was reading Nancy Fraleys reddit's commentary, and she feels the current batches (97 and current), which are MGP are better than the prior batches using Barton juice.

I got a 33 and it is stupid good! Just got a 166 but it was 200 after tax. Have a 54 as well but not open it yet.
Here in Jacksonville Fl we can get regular Magnus and Murray Hill no problems but cant find the cigar cut. If you do it’s at crazy prices like over 350. I just ordered me a bottle online and I’m scared to open since it’s my most expensive bottle I’ve bought.
Only time I have seen it in North Ga store wanted $299. Gently put back on shelf.
Yep, we find them in Dallas. We see 3 batches a year. I too have heard they’ve dropped in quality compared to the good all days.
I've never had a batch that I didn't like. I have a bottle of batch 49 that i have been milking for a while that is absolutely fantastic.
Allocated product here in NC. Have seen drops of it but never scored one in an ABC store. Did get one online though thats in the 140ish range for batch
Dropped here in the Winston Salem area in the last two weeks. Found it sitting on the shelf at two different places.

Going rate on these here in MI is $225--$250, so if you guys paid less than that you got a "good deal."

We have the regular bourbon for 93 hairs. Have never seen any cigar blend from any maker. Old Elk JTM none of them. And honestly this is way over my cap so I won't get one even if I see it. I will get the regular bottle for 93 just to try. I hear that one is good also. Enjoy!!
The old batches are superior but the new ones are still great bourbon.
I came across a few on the shelf for $210. I'd like to pull the trigger, but it's a 200's batch and there isn't even any information from Joseph Magnus on their website yet so I don't know what I'm buying.
Great video guys. I don't see JMCBs in the Florence KY area but I haven't been lucky to trade for batches 18, 36 and 64. I've had pours o newer batches and I personally prefer the older batches when comparing them but you can't go wrong with any batch. Nancy keeps killing it.

I bought the last bottle that Total Wine had in stock. It was batch 134, I paid $225 plus tax. Not much of a fan considering the price point and the quality. I much prefer a Jack Daniels single barrel barrel proof any day of the week.
Just found a batch 173 and snatched it up. Never seen it before where I live so I have never had it. Looking forward to cracking this. I can't seem to find any information on batch 173 so maybe it's just new? How different are the batch releases?

Just saw this for the first time ever in my state (unsure what batch). It was hiding in a back area of a store marked at $185. I passed it up, but now kind of regretting and thinking about going back tomorrow. 😂

I’ve tried a few batches and they’ve all drank a tad hot. A large cube really does the trick but not being enjoyable neat at $200+ is a turn off for me.

Batch 17-95ish was Barton juice. Original and current are he's are MGP. If you liked the originals, you would like the current.
I think some of the newer MGP sourced ones beat some of the Barton batches but agreed that they’re all great!
