I’ve been looking at the dumpster business for a long time. You just convinced me it’s not something I want to do. Not because it’s beneath me but, I’m to damn old to be climbing around on top of one throwing peoples shit off in their yard. I don’t have the kind of patience to put up with peoples stupidity.

when my ex n i had our dumpster service i got inside the empty containers and spray painted lines to show where to stop filling it. even stenciled it on there fill line do not fill past this line. it helped.

I get it. I see it literally every day. We have over 800 cans and 15 roll offs where I work so I don’t get to see every customer but anything I deliver I be sure to tell the customer please load it flat. That’s my warning. If I pick up one that I delivered and it’s overloaded then I pitch stuff everywhere. Usually they will only do it once after that. I hate to be that way but I don’t want my wife next to one of us on the highway with the kids in her truck and have something slide out. No way.
You said it perfectly! "WE" as drivers cannot drive that 70mph on the highway
@@Lifes_Apprentice I’ve taken plenty of sketchy boxes but anything I can grab and pull off easily gets tossed. It gets real fun climbing up on top of 50yd boxes. Especially if you’re me and terrified of heights.

I've had to rent a mini ex several times to separate overweight cans. It's a real pain.
See you baked if you didn’t shake it. Lower the cable and raise it. That usually works.
Our cable hoist doesnt shake very well when tipped all the way up because stingers are so low to ground compared to a roll off truck. a roll off truck would shake it off much easier
Are all of your trailers hooked to the hitch on the truck? I thought I saw one with a 5th wheel attachment a while back. Just wondering your thoughts on the 5th wheel vs the regular truck hitch for the trailer.
We have all bumper pull. I dont think there is any difference between bumper pull and 5th wheel
I noticed you used a app to track your dumpsters and/ or time on the job. What helps you keep track of where all The dumpsters are when not in your lot?
we use an app called docket to keep track of everything
Justin How would a dumpster work for a firewood delivery.
It would work awesome for large quantities. I have a dump trailer that will haul a full cord easy. If I get a big firewood order I may use the dumpsters this fall
do you prefer the bumper pull or the 5th wheel trailer?
I dont think there is any difference. The visibility is better with bumper pull and you have more room in truckbed
@@Lifes_Apprentice thanks for the insight. A trailer manufacturer told me a goose neck setup is more maneuverable and distributes weight better but costs $1800 more.
@@JCK0711 I believe it will distribute wieght better. as far as being more maneuverable we have no issues.

WE charge for extra days. we require payment on delivery
@@Lifes_Apprentice thanks I'm in the process of putting business plan together to purchase a trailer and bins starting as side hustle to hopefully work into full time with other some other services I'm working on to utilize the trailer and bins for other purposes.
