I had one similar. We used the stingers as an anchor point and then used a tow strap attached to the winch cable to pull out then loaded from flat ground. Luckily had the tow strap that day.
Gotta love how Nedland can handle most situations. I absolutely love mine and it was your videos that convinced me that was the route to go. Nice job brother!
Got my nedlands ofer the summer. I keep a snatch block and short chain in my truck. Wrap chain around trailer frame attach snatch block to it, run ur cable thru, now you have a change of direction to pull it over. Learned the hard way trying to hurry because I was worried about blocking traffic. Wasn't watching as close as I should have and had it slide off the rails. Luckily I had the snatch block. Sucked but I learned a new trick in the process. Just gotta remember to go slow so you don't make it worse.
If you have something like that again, once your cable is hooked to the bin try running your cable around one of your rollers on the trailer to hold the dumpster to 1 side so it won't slide off the rail like it was.
Ive drove a hooklift is columbus for 24 years. That would have been a non issue. Normal day and nromal type of job. Good luck thats tough to line everything up.
You said that normal and normal type of job. Then you good luck thats, which should be that’s, however; tough to line everything up. So in your 24 years did you never get good at lining up?
@matthewferguson2515 I have a hook lift I never miss. Trailer with roll off cable pull being towed by a pickup is alot to line up. That would never work in the tight places I set dumpsters.
which has more power to lift? a revving cable or hooklift? a hook probably would have been better in this situation however you showed us that we can get it with a cable.
I never had a doubt we could get it but in this case a hooklift would have been better I think. My trailer can lift and haul way more wieght than an small hooklift in general
I feel the hooklift would have been better at lifting UP and I was pulling towards me and against the earth in this situation. I would still put my trailer against a small hooklift any day with a heavy load because I am lower to the ground
I had a customer ask me if i could place the dumpster in the ditch similar to the one your dealing with. NO way was i going to do that! i would have never gotten it out.
All you had to do was stretched the cable out you could be 45° and drag the container until it's straight and then go head and drag it onto the trailer. You don't want to hook lift for two compact don't have any room to maneuver the arm. Back in the day used to run into that problem all the time. Just hook and grab straight and go
I thought about that but wasnt sure if it would pull really hard sideways due to all the mudd and rocks. I have done tht on other cans though...usually when someone is parked in front of can on the street
In my 45 years of hauling containers off and on I've seen a lot worse than that to be honest with you you might want to take some grease and put on your rails or that type of equipment you have to make it easier for the can the slide up on there just keep your rails low so they can won't be able to tip one way or another then if your truck won't pull it I'd suggest getting a friend with a full-size roll-off truck and he can win that thing out of there like nothing. The type of equipment you have though it is a little feeling of sketchy. Lol
I ran a cable unit for years, Carry some chain and a snatch block with you, You can use it to make your cable pull more to one side or the other. I carry a couple on my Landoll for just the same reason. Oil your wire rope, it looks really dry. And are those cable clips on the right way? It's hard to see in the vid. Never saddle a dead horse. And learn how to weave a "Farmer's Loop" or Flemish Eye" stronger than those damn clips and once you've done it a couple times faster
Hey I have a quick question we own a lawn care company and we on TH-cam and we about to order a couple of dumpsters and trailer from Nedland. I know the wait time is 6 months now but my question is do you share who make your signs on the dumpsters?
I have not had one like that yet at least not that Fernando has told me about... I know that we had a block wall contractor dig his foundation footings in front of the dumpster a couple weeks ago and he was pissed off because Fernando collapsed his trench when Fernando pulled out the dumpster and the wall contractor was yelling and screaming at me saying that it cost him an extra couple yards of concrete and I owed him $400 for the extra concrete. I told him to go pound sand.
I have had guys grade the front lawn around a dumpster in the dead of winter...lol We have seen it all until next week at this point!!! Just another weird dumpster I had to film.. Really wanted to hear about the hooklift if it would have been better to be honest...
A cable or hook truck would've been much easier. We switched from cable trucks after over 25 years and kept one tandem for 3 years before selling that last cable truck just in case. We'll never go back to cable.
Should've stayed awake in geometry class. First hook would've worked if you'd have jammed a big rock or something similar in front of the driver's side dumpster wheel. Then the cable would have pulled the dumpster to the drivers side.
Id be so mad man!, hooklift would get that no problem though. Would work best backing up while winching it up, aka sucking the trailer underneath the can. Instead of dragging can onto trailer. The back wheels would stay where they are instead of dragging it. You made it happen though!
@@VanishDumpsterRental We used those couple feet before we got it. I had the truck jack knifed a bit to avoid blocking one lane in road and it pulled us sideways

The reason most people have hook lift trucks is because they bought a crappy dumpster trailer!!!

That miay work! I never thought of that
yes, I have had the exact same thing happened to me. I got the hook on the front of it and drug it right out. luckily everything worked my way.
I think a hooklift is definitely the way to go. With complicated pickups that roll off looks like a nightmare to operate.
It is a great trailer and not hard to deal with at all. In this case a hooklift may have helped though
I recently had to do a recovery mission... but mine was pushed at a weird angle in a small complex parking lot. This was was more complex!
Part of me likes dumpsters like these in a weird way. The easy ones get boring sometimes lol

Depends on the rating of the hoist. We run 60000lb hooks which can do everything out old 60k cable trucks could do.
Even a hooklift has to be lined up to hit the rollers on back of truck probably better but oh well you got it so 👍nice job.
I feel the hooklift would have been better at lifting UP and I was pulling towards me and against the earth in this situation. I would still put my trailer against a small hooklift any day with a heavy load because I am lower to the ground
That would have been simple with a hooklift in and out 30 seconds
That trailer roll off I would sell change everything too hooklift looks very difficult
A short loop of chain wrapped around rail with cable run through to offset pull angle would have loaded it easy
I have had this happen to me recently. it was a bitch! but i got it. damn contractor pushed it around the lot. no longer do work for him.
They did not damage the dumpster thank god. In most cases it is the subcontractors who do this not the builder...I had a good long talk with the GC...
