Just superb! Musicianship and theatrics. Fantastic entertainment. Love the flute on this particular live version. I have many amongst my 'likes' but this is by far my favourite. Thanks Ian and Co.
Geweldig nummer en band
Ich war dabei ❤ es war der Hammer , Dankeschön für den Mitschnitt
Of all the great rock songs, Locomotive Breath ranks at the top. Such great lyrics, music arrangement, and attitude. That song has balls
And I'm upset! This band has bigger balls than myself!!!
Remembering my Dad today, this was his favorite song! He’s been gone 17 years and you brought back such memories! Rock on Tull!
I agree 😋
Right on
Your father was a man who appreciated true music.
@@timdaugherty6660 He truly was! 😊💕
This was my dad's favorite song too...he passed away in 2007. So cool to hear someone else's dad had this favorite song as well!!
My graduation gift to myself was tickets to Tull in Albuquerque in summer 1972
Now I’m 72 and still listening
Ageless music
Me too, guy
Martin Barre is easily the most underrated rock guitarist ever. No one ever brings him up in conversations about "great guitarists", but take a whirl through Tull's catalog of music and you will see what a true master he is.
Lancelot rocks!
Someone else who didn’t get the memo about the overuse of “underrated.”
@@TenMinuteTrips Not sure I understand your comment . . .
Agreed! He is definitely a very diverse talent.
who underrstedmartin barre?you?
A Masterpiece keyboard 's intro.... to a Masterpiece,a timeless, wonderful song. When I went to their concert in 2010 with my husband and my daughter, here in Italy, and they started to perform this... I broke down in tears of joy ...🥺😌. ✨🌹 Jethro Tull 4 ever!!!🌹✨❤️🎶❤️
Indeed 🎶❤💐

..a wonderful WONDERFUL tune....................
My dear compliments for your tastes
I've been a fan for over 50 years, and I still can't find another band that can beat Jethro Tull!!!
rofl.. gegen diesen Quatsch helfen auch keine Herzchen.... rofl
Thats Rock in its best!! Thx Jethro Tull for all these great Songs!!!!Greets from Germany!!!
My mothers favorite rock band was Jethro tull. She has been gone over 40 years but she always enjoyed a good prog rock band. Go Ian. For Shirley.
So amazing being able to witness things that were far and long ago and probably would never be remembered
Every time I hear Ian and Jethro Tull I am amazed he is not in the Rock and Roll Hall of fame
I’ve been listening to Jethro Tull since the 70’s and it never gets old! 🤘
Hi I recommend a new indie song called 'Looking Into The Mirror by Robert Nix
Me too: Too Old to Rock'n'Roll, too Young To Die ;-)
Unlike Ian and his utterly dreadful voice
Me too. Ian Anderson rocks that Flute which was a surprising instrument in Rock Music.
Nope
Among the best introductions to a song in rock music history
I have always loved how the pianistic introduction to "Locomotive Breath" is like a blend of Classical, Jazz, Blues, and of course Rock(!). :)
Incredible passion for the arts, woulda coulda shoulda…. Our Generation will live For eternity through our music…. There is no other…
Io c'ero, vedere i Jethro.... eppure gratisl! Top!
Thank you for everything , Walter. Honestly.
Hab Jethro Tull mehrmals live gesehen und war immer begeistert. Das erste mal 1980 in Passau Nibelungen Halle, damals gab es Sitzplätze aber nach 10 Minuten stand alles auf den Stühlen.
The meaning , the sound, and the emphasizing is TIMELESS CLASSIC ROCK.......
I suggest you listen to a song from the 60's. pretty much saw into the future except time was wrong. "In The Year 2525"
The great Ian Anderson and his band once played at Manchester Cathedral, the beams were in the way and I had to use the toilets in the pub next door 🏴🏴🏴🏴🏴🏴🏴☮️☮️☮️😁👍🎸😎
Best opening line/lyric in rock history in my opinion is "Really don't mind if you sit this one out…" and the following harmony.........seared in my musical memory forever from the first moment I heard it. Thanks Ian!
SO AGREE 👍
Wow, my eyes teared up when I read this ! 😢
I first heard of JT in 1997, My brother and new SIL asked me to go with then to EXPO 97 Montreal.
I was only 13 at the time.
We had stopped to see my Aunt and Uncle in Seabrook NH and JT was playing on the second floor of a hotel.
There were young people climbing up the out side of the hotel.
Something I will never forget.
I became a JT fan a few years later.
Ahhh yes.. the impeccable timing, musicianship and stirring lyrics.. all the ingredients for a badass timeless and Epic Jethro Tull masterpiece.
Since the beginning of the '70s anytime they were near I was at the concert with a handful of friends it never gets old and I wonder if this Dave Thompson would be one that I know from my neighborhood this is Walt Thompson Ian Anderson is greater than remarkable and Martin Barr never gets recognition but the leadership is impeccable
Dave are you from anywhere around York Pennsylvania
@@walterthompson2nd381 no brother, southern Illinois
@@Davidg1t1 thanks anyway brother I know a couple of David Thompson's around here and we're not related but we all are related through Ian Anderson and Jethro Tull the show that that van puts on and the music he has written and composed As we know they're in there with the greats of the greats hey buddy nice talking with you and be safe
@@walterthompson2nd381 I agree! Stellar shows I saw from the late 70’s through the 80’s man.. remember the giant balloons? Storm watch was a smoker! Brother it’s been a pleasure. May you and yours weather the times well friend
Jethro Tull is the best
JETHRO TULL FOR EVER AND EVER .AMAZING SONG .BRAVO FOR SHARING THIS MUSIC . 😍🙋♂️🙋♀️❤💛💜💓💣💥💥💥💥💥
Martin Barre is a Great Guitarist who deserves recognition vastly under rated. I recognized his talents when this Album was First Released & has Always been one of my Favorites!!
First band I ever saw LIVE in 1971. Jethro Tull...........Still sounds great FIFTY freaking years later!!!!
I'm blown away!! I've followed Jethro Tull for over thirty years. Thank you!
Great performance! Wow piano and flute!❤❤❤
Had a good time with you, when I was 14. That means 50 years ago. Thanks again. You are still moving me ♡
The same with me !
Golden bro..This dude, this band..Just friggin golden!
Ian Andrson , one of the most talented, well spoken and interesting musicians that I have ever met
Si le talent mène au Paradis, nul doute que ce groupe mythique y est ou y SERA !!!
Santé 🥃 ! 🇫🇷🇮🇪🇺🇸💫🌿
The name is "Anderson".
Meisterwerk ! Gretgings from Deutschland ....
Un-freakingbelievable performance. I never get tired of this song.
My first time seeing it…amazing!
I have seen Jethro Tull twice. Both times were in the Saddledome in Calgary Alberta Canada the 1970's. Easily one of the best memories of my misguided life many years ago. Ian Anderson playing his flute is a moment I will remember for the rest of my life
EXCELENTES recuerdos con esta banda, especialmente cuando los vimos acá en Venezuela. Gracias por compartir.
Love Tull , incredible band , Ian Anderson is a fucking Star man !!!!
Hi I recommend a new indie rock song called 'Looking Into The Mirror by Robert Nix
Oh my!! Barres guitar tone is fantastic and his volume in the mix is excellent! Nice and loud!
My first concert - Jethro Tull Shea Stadium 7-23-76; timeless. So many thanks for all the music even today.
Brilliance; yesterday, today,, tomorrow. Shaped my youthful music appreciation. Lived for Ian's inhales after a flute riff. Live was breathtaking.
Wow! I noticed the same thing. I was waiting to see if he did it live. It was almost like a part of the song. You know exactly when they were coming.
@@Rockzilla404 Those were the days my friend.

Definitely.. I knew every word of Cross Eyed Mary. 😄😄
The all time winner has got him by the balls ...... no wayto slow down ...... my youth ! Thank you Ian Anderson !
Cross Eyed Mary was my favorite song!
I seen them/him 1994 it was so sweet how theatrical and talented Mr Ian Anderson is
I'm glad Jethro is still around. He can really play that flute.
Jethro Tull is the name of the band. Ian Anderson plays flute
Too bad Ellie Mae died though
The lead singer is definitely called Jethro . ian anderson invented the seed drill
A favorite of mine from my youth. Memory flash back!
I’ve lost count how many times I’ve seen Tull in concert over the last 32 years. This song never disappoints. Yes Ian’s voice isn’t as good as 30 years ago but his stage presence is still there and Martin Barre is a legend. 😍😍
Is that really Martin Barre in the red jacket? I recall he used to stand around on stage like a bass player while the actual bass player gyrated on stage like the lead guitarist. Times change I suppose!
When I saw him he was in a wheelchair, but still great
Are your ears as good as 30 years ago ? Friendly from a 69 years old man…
@@christianguivarch3343
Actually yes they are….friendly from a 53 yr old woman…..
Hear, hear....an unsurpassed poet of a musician.
He does not know me at all. But Mr. Jethro Tull has been enriching my life for more than half a decade. Thank you sir - you are outstanding!
One of the greatest rock bands of all times. Authentic rock with excellent players and a thrilling I an Anderson !
Amazing rendition of a true classic song. Ian Anderson was one of the best rock band frontmen.
He still is to this day to put all of that together after writing composing he is a great front man
And that style + eye flicking
THAT PRS IS RAUNCHY, NASTY & DELIGHTFULLY DIRTY SOUNDING! LOVE IT
No more Hamer
Is he on Marshalls again? Quite overdriven his sound (but wow) and yes the PRS is stunning.
I've been a fan since about 1970 and have attended too many concerts to count; don't believe I've ever been to one without Locomotive Breath being performed near the end which really winds everyone up. I've met Ian twice; he's a tremendous showman and a gifted songwriter and musician!
After 51 years all i can say is....Wow!
They have so many great songs. This is one of the best.
Jethro Tull de mis bandas favoritas
The memories I can't begin to tell the story, How great were the sixties and seventies
Had the pleasure of working security at a Tull concert at Foweys DuMaurier Festival some years ago. Incredible evening. Couldn't agree more with the previous comments
Saw Ian Anderson in Auckland a few years back, great music never grows old. ❤️ 😍 💖 ❣️ 💕 💘
Anderson lives on a farm in the southwest of England where he has a recording studio and office. [Jethro Tull] 2:08
Jethro Tull is a progressive rock / folk rock band which formed in Blackpool, Lancashire, England in 1967.
One of the most influential and popular progressive rock bands of all time.
Jethro Tull is still a very popular group and their music is enjoyed by many fans worldwide.
After a nearly 20-year-long break from releasing albums, Jethro Tull reunited and began making music again several years ago. [Forbes] 4:24
Charlie stole the handle and the train won't stop going no it can't slow down..... One of the top philosophical statements of my whole life
Magic...despite crushed Ian's voice...and this performance was in 2005...
😍one one the BEST.....
I remember how I was so amazed when I first heard the Aqualung album. Great memories from so long ago!
Jethro ist the tool to timeless music the 70s
Was the time of great music ,there are to many I used to have around 8000 LPs Where to begin? A like Al di Menola to Z like Zappa 👍👍🖤🖤🖤
@@alexandercabrera9093 I had a huge collection and gave away about half of them. Now I wish I would have kept them all. So disappointing!
It's been a long time... it's my time, thank you !!
One of my all-time favorite groups and the creator of Medieval Rock! Ian is the most creative flutist who ever held the instrument. I wish him a miraculous recovery from his ailment!
Ian Anderson greatest Flutest in the world
Since the 70s when I first heard them play was "damn son"! Love it!!! Takes me back ✌
simply the best
Saw him in the early 70’s best concert ever!!
Absolutely the best I ever attended. I was 3 row center at theChicgo Stadium
FLUTE SO PERFECT
Have seen them several times the last was in Vancouver BC 2011 40 year anniversary of Aqualung , Was Epic a once in a lifetime experience . No one compares to Tull!!
Sounds amazing as I've seen TULL going back a 1/2 a century.....
Saw Tull perform this, all of Thick As A Brick, over two hours they dazzled everyone. Edmonton Arena, 1972. Pure magic!
Saw in Calgary same tour
@@41corsair In later tours they cut TAAB down to a bit over 12 minutes but for us they performed the full album and followed it with a generous helping of tracks from Aqualung and some oldies from earlier in their history but you and I saw them at their best. Cheers Paul, we share an awesome bit of musical perfection.
Wore out the LP, bought the CD (and play it loud and often) and saw them live in London years ago when we were all young. Man I love this band, this song and the album. Good to see that they are still rocking and are as bonkers as ever. Rock on gentlemen, rock on...
A timeless great song! 👍🏼
I was lucky that my older siblings all listened to Tull while I was growing up. Not the Beatles or the Stones, though I was certainly aware of them, but mostly Jethro Tull.
Consequently I have no memory of hearing them for the first time, they were just always around in the entire background of my childhood! Them and their entire classic catalog..
Priceless
When l watch this.. I'm glad l saw them in the 70's
HISTORIC SONG.....BLOODY HISTORIC SONG.....
thanks for sharing!!
Wonderfull version
Elemental!
Yeah. Brings back memories.
Music from another time love the seventies best music!!!!!!!!
One of my favourite bands.
Martin Barre is my all-time favorite lead guitarist. Nobody could get that Rock sound like him.
What an amazing fluteist Flute est?
@@USMoxi -- I read somewhere that it's actually flautist, which makes no sense at all. Our language is always so confusing, but you're right, he's amazing.
💜💜💜💜💜I LOVE JETHRO TULL💜💜💜💜💜
It's time for him to add a singer and sing along him/her. He's great, obviously, but there's no shame in admitting that you don't sound like you're 30 anymore. We'll be more than happy and satisfied to see him with a flute or guitar while adding his unique voice to another good rock-and-roll singer. Only health for you, Ian.
There's no sense in comparing/expecting Ian to sound: A) like he did when this song was recorded; & B) like he did in the 70s or 80s. e.g. do you?
@@bluerock4456 That's my point. I'm not blaming him for anything, but he clearly struggles and he shouldn't. When I went to their show about ten years ago it was often embarrassing to see him struggling so much. He totally earned the right to add a singer and join whenever he chooses to. He can leave the high notes to a younger singer.
I'd much rather hear Ian sing, musical warts and all, than hear some young person just sing his songs perfectly hitting every note. Maybe that's just me?
His voice is shot.
@@ToeTag1968It's not just you. I guess we'll agree to disagree. Or at least I hope.
1 of a kind Group Concerts always had a different kind of people then most Concerts ✌️✌️
