Not just investors. I deal with investors all the time, people who regularly put up 100k- 300k into one or more opportunities per year (I work in a niche market handling finances). They can be fickle, they can be annoying. But they aren’t SHARKS on a national tv show that also airs internationally. The people who I deal with are more or less avg people who happen to work good jobs or own their own companies in my market. They have great connections, know how, and experience. They are NOT the sharks tho. The sharks aren’t just investors. Most of the times, investors that I deal with are mostly hands off. They write a check just so they can get (hopefully) another check at the end of every month. The Sharks are a totally different level of business, the very top. They are the one percent. They are the people who get paid by you everyday and you CANNOT avoid it.

having a bleed in your profits for a small business is a death sentence and considering he had no guidance to offer for reaching the level of a big business he would of just snaked what ever money happened to fall on the guys lap
Kind of to echo what he said^. Kevin did not have his something wonderful platform at this point and a 14% royalty is absolutely insane with or without a cap. The standard royalty from a buyout is 7% and hes asking for more equity than the guy asked for. The fact that he asked for 30% and 14% royalty is insulting considering the guy had half a million in sales.
