It just seems so weird that you would be married to someone but still have to wait almost a year or more before you can either get married, let alone see and live with your spouse or future spouse if you are living on separate continents.

I applied for a K1 visa for my fiance in Mexico. It took 2 years cause of COVID just to get denied. Should I appeal? I have 30 days to do so. Or should I start all over. Cause I been seeing that when you appeal, there is no time frame. it could take for ever and still get denied. Should I start over?

I am a US Citizen/Resident. I was born in the states and well You know, can come and go as I please. However i am In Colombia and my girlfriend and I would like to move to the States. We really dont want to be separated more than 3 months and I know that may be unrealistic with the plans we have for the moment. But i guess my question is which of the visas would you recommend? Long story short, you can't. Just get used to the idea of being physically separated until it's approved. It's egregious I agree but you know what I find more egregious? The fact that most everyone going through this just accepts it. . . . They're annoyed but they don't voice that, or push back at all. And when someone makes a noise about it, they'll tell them to hush up. That's what I find egregious.

My daughter-in-law had been in the system for 21 months and was finally able to ask USCIS about the delay only to receive the response that her case is still in "Security Check" and USCIS cannot process the I-130 until she passes this. Hey! My boyfriend lives in America and I am from Germany. We are dating for almost two years now and really want to live together. We met when I was an AuPair in America and spent the first year of our relationship living 20 minutes from each other. I am going to study in Germany for the next three years and we want to get engaged soon to make it official during our long distance relationship. It's just nice to know to have someone waiting for me and be sure of each other. Does it make sense to get married when I visit him (with an ESTA, with proof of return to Germany) and apply for the K1 while I am studying? I fell in love with him and America so our plan is that I am moving here when I am done studying. Another question: Is it gonna take us longer since we are still young (20 and 23) or does age not matter? Thank you for your help :)

Your chain of command requires you to complete a request for getting married to a foreigner. The process is lengthy, confusing, and depending what country and nationality of your prospective spouse, nobody in your chain of command of administrative support offices may even know what all the requirement are.
I was a year away from getting out of the Navy, nobody I could find or contact or my chain of command could connect me with even knew the requirements or process for a fiancee in the Philippines. So I ignored the process, got married, and filed an I-130 for her through a visa agency in the Philippines. (If not the Philippines, you may have better luck finding someone who knows the process) It took 2 years to get the required documents, file and have the petition processed through the Department of Immigration, NCV (at the time in 2012 and 2013 it was part of the process), and finally have the interview done. Visa was Approved in May of 2013 (over a year since I was out of the Navy already, so the military process would have taken too long to matter)...and my wife was already cheating and having another guy's kid I though was mine for the next 4 years.

Getting married in Philippines in early February, any idea how long it takes to process a spouse from there? Thanks I’ve enjoyed your video!

      Honesty right here,
At least 2 years I'm betting.
I'm 15.5 months into the petition side of the Fiancee Visa for my fiancee to come to America. It claimed 5 to 8 months when I submitted it in September 2021. January 1st of 2023 now. And the estimated time for the petition to be processed has continually kept pace with how much time has passed.
Government Workers don't work anymore I'd swear. Thank the current regime and the mentality and ideologoy their policies foster.
Even back in 2011 when I submitted the I-130 for my now X-Wife (also from the Philippines), it took a year and a half for the visa to finally be approved. And then she was too busy cheating to want to come.
Be very careful who you marry in the Philippines.

Hi Megan, I am going to be marrying my fiance in New Zealand. I am a US citizen and my question is being New Zealand is such a small country we thought doing the CR1 instead of the K1 visa. Does it make more sense to do it that or the K1?

I want to marry a filipina and live in the philippines with her. She has a good job there. I am not interested in moving her to the US or attaching her to the usa tax system. But I would like to travel to visit my family occasionally and bring her along. What is the easiest visa for that?
