  • This talk was given at a local TEDx event, produced independently of the TED Conferences. The talk is about the role of innovation, leadership and power in today's world.
    Milton Sousa is Executive Director MBA Programs at the Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University. He has a PhD in Management from Erasmus University, Rotterdam School of Management, with a focus on Leadership. In 2003 he finished his MBA at Nimbas/Bradford University with Distinction. Milton graduated in Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Porto in 1998.
    Milton Sousa initiated his career as an Engineer at Philips Research in the Netherlands, after which he moved into business as product and business development manager at Philips Semiconductors and later at Chipidea Microelectronics. After 8 years in the semiconductors industry, Milton started working as a consultant on Innovation and Organization Development at Sociedade Portuguesa de Inovação and afterwards at the HR consulting firm Hay Group. In 2009 he started his own business, Leaders2Be, offering talent and leadership development solutions for business schools and universities. Since 2010 Milton is also Executive Director of the Estoril Conferences, a large international forum on globalization that gathers renowned world leaders from business, academia and public sector. In that quality he has worked with the United Nations, World Bank, European Commission, NATO, and several world-class universities.
    Milton Sousa is a frequent guest lecturer and speaker on the topics of leadership and organizational behavior in several universities and business schools. Having published numerous articles, his research interests include the relationship between leadership, work motivation and organizational performance, as well as complexity and innovation in a global context.
