    - OPENING : (Play two different music)
    - How do you feel about those two pieces of music?
Do you share same emotion for each of those pieces?
Yes, music does stimulate our emotions.
    - Since ancient times music is an important part of human life. There is music for praying, for motivating soldiers to war zone, for social protest, for therapy, for soothing baby to sleep, you name it!
    - So I believe music is the most powerful art for shaping our life since our childhood till now.
Movie directors know that well. A happy scene can be sad if they add sad music. And sad scene can be happy if they add happy music. I’ll give example…. (Play music)
    - Why that can be happen? Part of the answer is still a mystery.
Scientists only know that music can stimulates complex chemical reaction in our brain. It also releases dopamine -a chemical messenger in our nerve system-that amplified sense of happiness. Even a sad music gives pleasure to sad people when they listen to it.
Several studies also indicate that music may reduce anxiety and depression. That means music is good for your mental health.
    - But… does all kind of music good for your mental health? Scientist found that music with clear sound (not noisy sound), slow to moderate tempo (not fast), and harmonious music is the best choice. (Playing examples ….)
That means the limitation is not music genre or style. You could listen solo guitar music or orchestral symphony. You could listen traditional gamelan music, keroncong dangdut reggae blues jazz rock, you name it.
    - Okay, now we know music is good for our health. But there is more benefits from music…. What is it? The answer is: Learn to play a music instrument!
    - Scientist have found people who learn to play music instrument have a better connected brain nerves. There’s also studies that indicate people who play music instrument have a better performances in these area: motoric skills, auditory discrimination, nonverbal reasoning skills, and vocabulary.
    - Playing music also improve our cognitive and muscle memory. Because in the process of learning we do multiple tasking: reading notes, listening, synchronizing our body parts (hands, feet, breath), analyzing and memorizing the pieces. For example … (play Romance de Amor).
    - Some of you may ask what music instrument should I choose? Any instrument is good. I suggest you explore youtube to find what instrument that suit to your own taste and personality.
    - For me, classical guitar is the best. It’s portable, you can play it anytime anywhere. It’s also a polyphonic instrument. You can just play the chords for accompanying singer, or playing solo… (give example) You even don’t need electricity, except you give performance on big stage like this.
    - Now we know in this “stay at home” time, listening to music will keep you in good mental health. But if you have chance to learn music instrument, more good things will happened.
