A female interviewee Simon!! Yes! The other 50% is getting a look in! Thank you for turning the titanic and setting a new direction ❤ Two things I picked up on though in the very first minute which highlights your male conditioning: You say ‘that’s not to say I’m brighter than her’. This highlights the male preponderance and focus with the conceptual mind as Supreme and the only thing that matters…but yes you are also now aware that the heart thing, is important. Your statement perhaps also highlights that - as comes out later in the conversation - your belief that men just don’t have access to the heart. (you don’t say ‘I don’t mean to say that my wife has a better heart than me’. ) This is a misunderstanding to think that men don’t have the same access. It is merely a case that it is conditioned out of most males from birth to be allowed to feel emotion or anything soft. You have just the same access but the neural ‘linkup’ is just not used to wiring and firing. It is such strong societal conditioning in males. I have a young son and the lack of softness in bringing up boys is right there from the beginning - in how we speak to them, in types of clothes on the shop shelves, in colours they’re allowed to wear (black blue and grey) versus every colour under the rainbow for girls. Everything that is bright, glittery and soft is shut down for boys from toddlers. Also you say ‘Is there something small that we are missing’ by having only male gurus??!!! Something small?!! Humanity is missing the MAIN thing! By the male teachers who are around focussing on conceptual understanding and an inability to drop into the heart, we miss EMBODIMENT OF THE UNDERSTANDING! That’s kinda huge as Cat brings sharply to your attention!!! The male approach, headed by the big name male gurus is WHY we have a Neo advaita overgrowth. If females had the top podium on the teaching stage NEO ADVAITA WOULD NEVER HAVE A CHANCE TO EVEN FLOURISH. it would be embodiment from the beginning. In my spiritual teaching, embodiment is from day 1. Not stuck on the end…after the more ‘important’ male bit. The fact that major male gurus stick the embodiment bit on the end speaks volumes about how switched on they are to its importance…a whole reshuffle is needed and women are the only ones who can turn the tables. I say all of the above for highlighting purposes. Not to criticise. Merely to raise/unveil the Awareness that you are…as a male. I hope that it’s helpful. With love ❤
This is where the heart of Yoga, the principles of Krishnamacharya's, and UG Krishnamurti 's Yoga come in... Inhale from above, as receptivity (the femenine part), exhale from below as strength (the masculine part), balancing things out... No male nor female sages on stages, but everybody equal. Nonduality is per definition non hierachal.
