  • Do you know what you’re truly capable of? Abby Wambach discusses her new book, “Wolfpack,” and argues that we need to harness our personal power if we hope to fight inequality and change the world. She also debunks the myth of Little Red Riding Hood, and explains why everyone wins when you step up and become a leader.
Abby Wambach is a two-time Olympic gold medalist, FIFA World Cup champion, and the highest all-time international goal scorer for male and female soccer players. She’s an activist for equality and inclusion and the New York Times bestselling author of “Forward: A Memoir” and “Wolfpack: How to Come Together, Unleash our Power and Change the Game.” Abby is co-founder of Wolfpack Endeavor, which is revolutionizing leadership development for women in the workplace through her champion mindset, individualized coaching, and team-bound focus. Abby lives in Florida with her wife and three children.
Tune in to learn how to stop believing the myth of scarcity, be a bridge-builder in tough conversations, and lead by helping others flourish.

I am a 64 year old woman, I lost my Husband 7 months ago and I am so glad that I read Abby's book twice before I had to go through this loss and the pandemic! Being totally alone for the first time in my life... made me feel like I had to ask "give me the fucking ball".

41:56 True leadership is to let go and see your leadership flourish in other people. I’ve worked hard, achieved my dream, taught & lead countless students. I know I’ve impacted many lives & love doing that. But now I find myself in a life transition that is benching me from what I’ve been doing the way I’ve been doing it....it’s no longer working. Yet, I struggle to let it go, move on, & reinvent my wheel. Dream a new dream. How do I let go of something I thought defined me? I’m scared what I worked so hard at will disappear. So, thank you 🙏 for the reminder that my leadership lives on in those people whose lives I touched. Perhaps I can be free to dream a new dream......🙏🙏🙏⭐️⭐️⭐️💙💙💙

Wow! Thank you for sharing your knowledge and experience with us! I can’t wait to watch this with my 15 year old daughter! She LOVES soccer and is unable to play her Freshman year in high school because she transferred mid-year. But she is practicing with the team and is cheering them on and leading from the bench! Because it’s a small school, they pulled girls in who would have never played soccer. My daughter is constantly lifting them up, helping them learn the skills they need and she’s showing up to every practice and game even though she can’t play and I am so proud of her! She’s going to love this book! Thank you!

My great grandmother marched on State St. for women’s right to vote.... bless her fortitude. 2020 is the 100th anniversary....we need to speak out about this and vote with our integrity for a president with integrity and a cabinet for the people. I loved the whole thing! Especially the part about how it's okay to fail.. How it's okay to ask for what you want! And my fav part was when Abby so spontaneously read the beginning to her book. I could feel a message that needed to be spread for next generations run through from her soul into her physical body and straight into words flowing out of her mouth like the voice of an ancient story teller... golden! Thank you both so much for being you.

Thank you! I won't be so shy about calling myself a leader anymore. I can put myself on the line for those who don't feel as strong as I do - that's what makes me a leader.

What she said about labels is so spot on! Labels are tools of oppression, let's do ourselves a favor and let them go. We are more than who we sleep with, what we do for a living, our age and our gender. We are here to let authentic expression shine through us!

  • @aligned4good

I loved everything about this shared experience. Powerful message to all of us. A reminder to follow our gut and our greatness - the one that each of us posses. About the love of money...I honestly don't understand people who think of money any other way than Freedom. You can help many more people by having money, than without. Even Mother Teresa needed money to help the poor. People who hate money, who think that loving money is greedy, and/or evil have a lot to learn about what money is and the infinite abundance of it. Hating money, or people with money is a sure way to keep it out of your life. When you are poor, you need to struggle to survive and helping others feels like an impossible chore, you don't have time, nor money to help people in need. It is the way we all have been programmed to believe. It is time to let it go, it doesn't serve us. I think you got the message. You all know that we all come into this world with the same 24 hours to follow your own dreams, wishes, and wants in life. What you do with it is up to you.

Wow! This was great. I just picked up the audiobook of Abby’s book. I just retired (early) from a land management field working for gov’t, and “grateful” I had the opportunity and experience. But it wasn’t all a bed of roses. I’ll have to think about and digest what was said here and maybe will share what was most meaningful to me, and how I might apply it moving forward as I proceed with the next chapter. Thank you.

Amazing episode...As a former pro soccer player myself (though not anywhere close to your level Abby) I can relate so much to your message. The most difficult part for me -still today, is figuring out who I am when not the 'soccer player' and figuring out how to express my true self in 'real life' the way I was able to on the 'soccer field'. I really admire you Abby for having found a way to do so for the highest good of all. I can't wait to get myself a copy of this book💝 Love you both and all the magic you share ❤❤❤❤❤⭐

Powerful interview. I'm so glad I clicked on it; didn't realize who she was until she mentioned Glennon but I'm now a huge fan of Abby and her work, as well. I'll be buying the book, of course, but will also be turning others - including the men in my life - onto this. Her words are profoundly important, as well as the topics you both touched on, and I know this video and her book will make a big impact on how girls feel about themselves, to move forward in their lives unafraid, unashamed, with boldness and confidence. With love, admiration, and respect: Thank you both for all you are doing here.

There are lots of different kinds of"successful" women. Some people stay on the path and that works for them. Sometimes that is where they find greatness. Of course we have to encourage women to do what is best for them and if that means creating their own path then they should do that. But to say all successful women went off on their own path is, in my opinion, a gross genreralization. There are women who are "in the box" and they are slaying there. They are raising good children, doing good things in their careers, and that is more than enough. That is their mission. We cannot forget the women who may blend into the background of society, who do not make much noise, and simultaneously living their truth and their purpose. These women are successful, too.

Doesn’t need to tuning in zero balance about every word we hear. Of course she didnt meant to generalize successful women in one category. But we could remember all those little “out of box” challenges in life we risked.
If one stayed on the safe route only, and did nothing off the map, and think they are quite successful? I would call it privileged and carried on upon somebody else’s shoulder.

Something I never thought about, but keeping the most of the wealth in men's hands means that it is reinvested and spent on companies that men value, not companies that women value, it keeps reinforcing the idea that what men value thrives and what women value barely makes it.
