What a cool game. I love these fighting games that are focus more on boss battles rather than traditional PvP. They are a nice, welcome twist to the genre. Also Yukihime is hot!! The 80's - 90's art style was truly something else.
Nice, so this is another precursor to Red Earth. I didn't know there is a fair number of games with this unique kind of system that is like a boss rush.
It's a spinoff to an RPG series. While I don't know too much about it, what I've seen of it makes me think something a mix of Tengai Makyou, Breath of Fire, and Onimusha.
Perfect paradigm for single player content just sitting there on the shelves gathering dust. Ah, well, at least Red Earth/Warzard got a recent re-release. ;D
I give the game credit: it gave credence to Red Earth for it's concepts and innovation. Should this said concept be applied to a few fighters as an OPTION to not stray away from the core roots, I'm all in. Gives something for the casual players to do while competitive players will find solid ways to dive in on features and functions to dish out the best damage against the bosses. Pretty solid game. A 7.8 for me. :)
This game rules! I kinda wish someone would make a new one of these types of boss rush fighters... though I guess they're sort of precursors to Monster Hunter games in a way. Still, it's just a good arcade design and no one does it anymore. Even inserting these types of big boss characters into fighting game arcade ladders/campaigns would be refreshing... kinda like in Fighting Layer, those fights against the Tiger, Shark or suit of Armor. Oni is just really freakin' fun, and I _so_ much prefer this game to Konami's Monster Maulers. The character designs in that one are just so dumb, lol. Oni looks dope as hell though! Cool character designs, fantastic backgrounds, great pixel art on the sprites - this HAS to be one of the nicest looking 2D games from 1995. Another freakin' gem from Banpresto - they did a lot of underrated stuff back then that nowhere near enough people know about (see also: Panzer Bandit, Critical Blow, Summon Night Swordcraft Story, etc.)
Excellent again there will be another great era like this hopefully Konami and other gaming companies like this will consider releasing collections to play Kaiser knuckle Marshall champions that great kung fu fighting game with the White Lotus as the final boss would be tight and fun and a great way to enjoy gaming again keep up the good work keep it coming Milford Beach so good 2D fighter Sprite
Well Banpresto US Division dropped the ball here… Where the hell was this in America? A port please? I don’t care if it’s an “Arcade Archives” port or even a physical copy. Please bring this to modern consoles. Holy hell this looks awesome!
Interesting that this predates Red Earth, that game wasn't so unique as I previously thought. I do think I prefer the latter game though, the camera here is too manic and flicks around too much.

Yukihime being in the thumbnail is the reason I clicked on this video in the first place.
This idea for a fight game needs to come back.
Yeah I agree
Beautiful game and nice playthrough. I like the Red Earth style of facing a boss with a large health bar. Great job.
Boss rush games most definitely need to make a comeback. Both in fighting game form like this game and red earth and also 3D like furi

Street Fighter 1 has npcs opponent system but Red Earth's npc opponent system is more epic!
Another example could be MegaMan power up battle where you fight a series of bosses in a direct battle instead of going through the whole level.

usually for 1v1 fighting games they usually use sprites and not multi-sprite characters, so this is already unique!

Old school arcade games are always so fucking wild.
Yukihime is definitely for beginner, easy to use. But that spiral uppercut move has way too much air time and leaves her exposed if it doesn't hit
Goddamnit i remember this game i always play the ninja guy
😍😍😍😍😍😍
Childhood memories
Thank you, I was looking for this game but didn't remember the name.
That first fight was close, 2 seconds left! Another great video
Second stage music is a banger
You have an awesome content! Keep uploading these gems for posterity! 😊

Amazing walkthrought,Loading Geek,you are an idol👍
Cute character😏
Its funny how much fresh ideas you can take from a 25+ years game.
Great and obscure action game. Very hard.
Yuki is definitely 100% waifu material!
I would have liked this back then.
足払いや飛び道具しか使わない動画ばっかりだったから、この動画は見所が多くてよい。
I like this character design
This game looks fun!
Monster Maulers vs Ninja Masters. Who wins?
