Yay!!! You're doing a Hal Ketchum reaction! He's one of my all time favorites. Sure miss him. He died in 2020 of complications from dementia. It was so sad to watch him fade away.
@@ronileigh9336 He used to post Sunday morning concerts from his home on FB. I had a couple show up in my memories this morning. So blessed that he left so many wonderful songs for us to enjoy.
Oh I loved Hal Ketchum!! Such an amazing voice! RIP Check out I Know Where Love Lives, Someplace Far Away, Sure Love, Mama Knows The Highway, I Miss My Mary, etc. He really doesn't have a bad song.
Please also check out his songs (Tonight We Just Might) Fall in Love Again, No Easy Road, and Stay Forever. RIP Hal...another country crooner gone too soon.
He's great, sad that he's no longer with us, losing the battle to the cruel disease of dementia. He had lots of hits including I Miss My Mary and Old Soldiers. It's very catchy!
This song brings me back to an ex, who didn't like country music. But he said this song was his home town. The line 'the world must be flat, because when people leave town they never come back'. Years later, after I learned I had had relatives in the same small town, I went there on vacation. We drove down out of these beautiful green mountains and there at the bottom was this small town. The part that struck me, was the landscape on the other side of the town, stretching for miles, looked like those photos you see of the moon landscape. It fit right in with the ' the world must be flat'. It was something to behold.
This was probably Hal Ketchum's most popular song. I always thought he was very underrated. He never seemed to get the recognition he deserved. He had an amazing voice and so many great songs! Check out Past the Point of Rescue (my personal favorite), I Miss my Mary, Somebody's Love, and I Know Where Love Lives. I got a chance to meet him when he was appearing at a Casino in Wisconsin. He was a very nice, gracious man.
You really dig up some great music! Not sure if its your followers/subs or you seek these out. I doubt a whole whole lot of people still think about Hal; Ketchum but he is great and this is a good example. Always enjoy your reactions!
Ah, Hal. I miss him so much. Great reaction. This is the song that introduced most of us to this amazing artist. Please do I Know Where Love Lives and I Miss My Mary.
I love virtually everything Hal sings. And that comes from an old school rock fan. A personal favorite of mine is ''She Is''. His catalog is endless & not a bad song in the lot.
I saw Hal at an Iowa farmers festival, when he had just come onto the country music scene. He and Colin Raye were preforming at a small booth, outside. It was such a cozy and personal way to be introduced to two new talents.
I was crazy about Hal back in the early 90s and got to see him at an outdoor concert in Colorado. His cover of "5 O'clock World" is so beautiful. RIP, dear Hal! th-cam.com/video/MuWj2A4KOtE/w-d-xo.html
Thanks for doing another of my favorite 90's singer. Hal Ketchum just had an amazing catalog of songs. My favorite was Past the Point of Rescue. RIP sweet Hal.🥀😥
I've been suggesting this song to reactors for over two years now. Glad that it's you reacting to it. Some other good ones from Hal are "Five O'clock World" and "Past the Point of Rescue".
One of my favorite songs of all time! Love to see you enjoying it! Here's my story about trying to buy this on CD at Target back then: I had no idea what the name of the song was or who the artist was. I knew "90 miles an hour" was said during the song a couple of times. I stood in the CD section at Target and looked at the back of almost all the male Country artist CDs until I found what I thought was it. The album: John Berry "Standing on the Edge". He had a song on there called "Ninety Miles an Hour (Down a Dead End Street)". I bought the CD. Got it home and played it. I was disappointed it wasn't "Small Town Saturday Night", but I was introduced to John Berry's music that day. That was fine with me! He had some great songs, too!
I grew up in a small town. I always felt this song perfectly captured how young restless folks feel about living in a sleepy little town. It’s a balance between boredom and desperation. Check out Hal’s cover of “5’o’clock World.” Very solid. Rest easy, sir
Love Hale! He has an amazing voice and was one of the few country artists I can recall being from NY state, which I thought was great growing up in NY myself.
Around a hundred (seems that way) I worked at a drive movie show.... took tickets at the gate and we had people that would load the trunk with others and just pay for the 2-4 up frt.. we had a pretty good idea but didn't stop them... heck we even did it from time to time. There had to be many shows all of us working there got sick and tired of watching.
I don't think they are children ... They are Little People . Past the Point of Rescue and Hal's tribute to Christopher Reeves Hang In There Superman are A list ...
Hal was a refreshing addition to Country music. Especially from a New Yorker. His music is magical. Unfortunately, the cruelty of dementia kept him from being a legend. Please react to: Point of Rescue
BTW the movie scenes shown in the video are from a real movie called The Terror of Tiny Town. The entire cast were dwarves. They rode ponies instead of horses. One of those pretty good films that could never be made in today's politically correct environment where giving people jobs is less important than pretending not to notice that someone is only 3 feet tall.
The instrumentation may be upbeat, but the lyrics were definitely sad. People trapped living in a small town with nothing to do. And no way to get out, as far as they can see.
"Gotta be bad just to have a good time"
I grew up in the middle of nowhere in SW Iowa, and that couldn't be more true.
Yay!!! You're doing a Hal Ketchum reaction! He's one of my all time favorites. Sure miss him. He died in 2020 of complications from dementia. It was so sad to watch him fade away.
OMG I didn't know he passed. Thank you for letting everyone know. It makes me sad bless him. Yes I too really liked Hal

I know where love lives!
What a great line in this song..."Lucy, you know the world must be flat. Cause when people leave town, they never come back". Great song!
Oh I loved Hal Ketchum!! Such an amazing voice! RIP Check out I Know Where Love Lives, Someplace Far Away, Sure Love, Mama Knows The Highway, I Miss My Mary, etc. He really doesn't have a bad song.
I love this song and "Mama Knows The Highway"! Such a great entertainer! Sadly, gone too soon!
My favorite Hal Ketchum song!!!
He was on my bucket list to see live. I was so sad to hear he died. "Past the Point of Rescue" is my favorite.

A friend of mine met Hal in a Irish pub back in the 90's. They talked for an hour and had a pint together. Real down to earth. Great guy.
Great song, RIP Hal. You have to listen to "Past the Point of Rescue"
You really dig up some great music! Not sure if its your followers/subs or you seek these out. I doubt a whole whole lot of people still think about Hal; Ketchum but he is great and this is a good example. Always enjoy your reactions!
Hal Ketchum was once called the songwriter that other songwriters looked up to. "Sure Love" and "Past the Point if Rescue" are must listens.

One of the funnest songs I don’t think you’ve ever reacted to is an old one by Darius Rucker called “Straight to Hell” 🤗❤️🐝

I have not heard that song in ages thank you
Damn you’re doing all the good ones tonight! I love your reactions.
BTW, the video is a showing of the black and white movie Terror of Tiny Town, and the actors are not children-- they are little people.
Love Hale! He has an amazing voice and was one of the few country artists I can recall being from NY state, which I thought was great growing up in NY myself.
I forgot about him. Love the song & your reaction
You should really react to Stay Forever by Hal Ketchum. We played that as one of our marquee wedding dance songs.
Maaaan! I’d forgotten about this one!! It makes me think of taking the trawling boat to the lake to go swimming in the summertime. I miss those days.
Check out Tex Ritter. Deck of cards. It has a great message especially for Easter 🐣🐰. This will blow your mind. Good job keep it up.

Tracey Byrd -I'm from country 🎸🔊🎵🎶
Why is there no introduction to the song at all? It just starts as soon as the video starts.
Those were old movies from the 40s. Alot of them were in Wizard of Oz. The Munchkins
