When a budgie is holding an egg in their stomach do you recommend letting them out of their cage or could the flying, potentially scramble the egg, or will it break?
My budgie is so funny she is a baby but she runs in the nesting box and throws her feathers.The feathers they throw i put them in there nesting box and the next day i saw that she had thrown feathers out of the box😅
3:58 even I had two females but both started fighting because their nest box were too close and 1 had already played eggs and unfortunately one died because of the fighting😢

My female budgie is about 2&1/2 years. Kiwi is my only budgie, and she recently laid 2 eggs...one on a Tuesday, and then another on Thursday. She was sitting on a perch and just dropped them. The eggs were cracked, and I removed them ....she showed no signs of interest in the eggs. Is this unusual for a bird without a mate? Does this mean that Kiwi could possibly do this again next year? Thanks so much for explaining about budgie behavior during this time...her poops were big and runny, and she demolished her cuttlebone and mineral block like you said. Kiwi still isn't back to her normal self and it's been a month or so since the eggs....could this be hormones?
Yeah all birds are out because it breaks my heart seeing them caged 😅 and it's easier to feed them and gain trust when they're out. Only 2 canaries and finches are caged sadly :(

Well, looks like they're nibbling on it because of boredom. You can provide them wooden toys, they may start biting the wood, and eat mineral block only by need.
Hello! Great vid and very helpful! My budgie just laid an egg, but only one, and her droppings became smaller, and her cloaca isn't swollen anymore. She only laid 1. Is this normal? She is about 3 years old and have laid eggs before, but they were infertile. Can you please give me answers?
Sometimes they lay only one egg, but sometimes over five. Sometimes those eggs are fertile but sometimes not. If they're infertile you can throw them. If thr female is alone, without the male, and she starts laying eggs it's because she got hormonal. Remove anything that reminds her of nest.

Got a question (kinda long, sorry) I have 4 budgies, 1 male and 3 females. Male was sweet and bonded to my blue female, then green female got super hormonal and demanding of males time. They had even tried it make an egg, then green female finally settled down. I have since separated into two cages, my male and his original blue sweetheart (and given a nest box) and my other two females in a different cage. Question is this: will my male go back to his blue sweetheart or is he now bonded to my green female? Or do I just need to put the cages in separate rooms. Green female and green male will sing same songs in their own cages but not screaming or anything... I really don’t want to breed green and green.

Well I am watching this because I doubt my Finch is pregnant! I have observed big poop, bulge in vent, excessive eating and time spent in there hut! Se is also getting aggressive towards the male bird! I hope these signs are similar for all the small birds

Yea female birds don't need a male to lay eggs, they will do so naturally HOWEVER the eggs aren't fertilized and NOT hatch obviously.

Breeding is not healthy but of course it's something natural and part of budgie's life 😬 Shakira just randomly decided to become mum

Budgies like clean nest, only wood on the bottom but you can use wooden shaving. If female starts throwing it off the nest, then she doesn't like it

Check other signs, sometimes he just shows love and support to her so regurgitation is normal behaviour

Female birds naturally know how to incubate their eggs. Also. You don't have to set up their nest they will build their nests themselves. It's nature.

How many hours does a female sit on her egg
Very long, she only gets out to drink water or stretch her wings, male feeds her and that last about 5 min, 3 times a day

Slice a thin piece of fruit, dip the piece in seeds and clip it inside the cage..
Try strawberries first! Coat it in seeds worked miracles for my budgie jasmine. Shes an albino so she looks like she murdered someone afterwards lol

Keep 2,3 food bowls on the cage..maybe they wil not fight for food..I am not sure. 😅
