Punk Rock Grid Journal Page!! Love it!!! Thank you so much for these offerings. Such a helpful way to get creative even when time and circumstances get in the way💓
I inherited a big boar bristle brush from an ex decades ago and only recently realized they sharpened the end to carve into paint. It's in need of rescue via Murphy's oil soap, but love that point. Use it all the time. Also discovered today I'm much too messy for the non-taping style of grid journaling. You've gotten me hooked on neon and pyrolle reds if I need a jolt out of the doldrums. Better than caffeine!
Haha! Yes, the bright paint colors do give a bit of a jump start, don’t they? 🤩 Love that you got the brush from your ex - sounds like a delightful parting gift 😆
I'd had a very bad day, so seeing your grid journal video pop up really made my day! Love your grid journal videos. And love making them too. I have you to thank for the colour shapers. 😊 I use a mix of collage, paint, actually lots of things lol. Stamping, pencils, marker pens, and the list goes on. 😁
I love grid journaling and you get the credit! I also got an 8x8 journal just for my adventure in grids and immediately made several different templates to use in drawing the squares and rectangles. I also credit you with introducing me to Color Crush. Thank you for all your inspiration.
I like this exercise a lot when I tried it the first time so I’ll task myself to do it more often! The idea of a sketch book with only grids like these in would be really doable and fun - for example a 21 day project. Thanks for the inspo Jackie.
I just thought of something cool. I might make a grid journal in some old maintenance manual. When I lived in Tacoma, WA I snagged an old paperbound textbook for people training to become boiler makers. I have gotten soooooo much excellent (read weird!) collage material from this textbook. And it was only fifty cents. If I can get lucky and find another manual like that in other subjects, that would be useful as well.
My problem is not a lack of time, it's feeling like utter crap most of the time. I just got diagnosed with Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease and some other things associated with Type 2 diabetics. 😢. I haven't created anything for months. Sigh.
Oomph! I’m so sorry to hear that you are feeling so rotten. 😔 Feeling terrible doesn’t help inspire creativity, that’s for sure. If you’re longing to create, perhaps you can find a kind of “active rest” artistic exercise that allows you to play and express yourself - even if just a few scribbles a day. And, if you’re not longing to create right now, resting and watching Netflix or reading a silly book are also solid ways to help time pass and appreciate other art forms as well 🌈 Wishing you peace and healing - I hope you feel much better soon! ❤️🩹❤️❤️
Having Jackie appear on a rainy Monday morning with this bit of JOY is now amongst my favourite ways to experience grid journaling. ❤❤❤
Aww! Happy to keep you company rain or shine! ❤️
