If you got a kick out of that lithium pack. You should make video on capacitor jumpers. It charges off of the dead battery to start the car. You don't have to keep it charged, and it wont leak. Give that a try it is much better than jumper cables or keeping a battery that you have to charge. It just uses the residual charge left in the battery. It will charge up indicating when its ready and you just start.
You should do another test were the pack is put in the freezer and once the lithium ion battery have reach a similar temperature test if there is a change in performance in different climates
Just a heads up Cody... If that battery is DEAD, dead (like when you leave the ignition on for a week) those boosters will NOT will. Like literally will- not- work. It senses an over current situation and goes into self-protection mode and will simply refuse to work. I have the Schumacher SL-1 which is about 80 bucks and it works like a champ when it works... but leave the switch on in the work truck for a week and you are hopeless. Great videos though! Long time subscriber.
I was at the 3 minute mark when you were heading down to your van and I thought. "I don't see your hat, how are you going to eat it"? I've seen those tested with batteries totally disconnected and they get like 25 jump starts out of them. I have one, but never had to use it for a jump start yet, but I can't wait for the need.
The strobe mode is used to protect you from people who may run at you to attack you it confuses there senses for long enough to allow you to run to safety
Consider that a car battery, group 24, can put out over 3000 amps in a crowbar short. That's how these lithium jump packs are rated, for a very brief crowbar short. Which isn't radically different from a starter motor running for 5 seconds. But they can't sustain those numbers for any time, and they can't really be used as chargers. The numbers are sheer hucksterism, but the packs do work for jump starting.
So many years. So many years and this channel is still my favorite. i've almost stopped responding since the channel has become so big and it's not as intimate as it used to be - But still, i watch and enjoy each and every video you post. Thanks for all the years you've been giving me such a joy.
My battery died at a gas pump (awful spot). An old woman pulled up in front of me, pumped gas and then honked and yelled because she would have to back up. I appreciate anyone that goes out of their way to help a stranger. Thankfully my brother in law came and rescued me.
I purchased one last year for work.. it was the largest available, just a tiny bit larger in size then the one you have there. I have jumped dozens of vehicles and it uses about ~2% of the charge for a large v8. Smaller 4 and 6's it barely registers as a full percent used. Works every time, I bought one for personal use and keep it in my truck at all times. The hardback case it comes with has all the charging adapters you need, plus being able to charge it from your cig/12v port.
I have two of those little jumper packs. I bought one after the tow truck driver used it to jump my wife's van when the battery died, then I bought a replacement after the battery in the first one started to blow up/expand (it wouldn't stay charged over an extended period of time in our cold MI winters with staying plugged in). I've found that they only work if the battery isn't completely dead, otherwise you have to use two or use one twice while charging it between uses (the first to charge the battery partway, the second to actually jump it to life). I've also found I have to leave them connected for a while to let the battery charge up, rather than just connecting it and immediately jumping the vehicle to life. I finally got fed up and bought a heavy-duty jump pack designed for trucks, the kind mechanics use--jumps it to life every time without having to wait forever for the battery to charge. I also agree with the bonus flashlight rant. I've never seen anyone that has ever used the strobe feature on any flashlight or headlamp.
I've been using these batteries for a few years. One in the truck, one in the boat, and one in the wife's car. All have been used to jump various engines. I have yet to have a no start, with one. They are great gifts as well. Plus they're cheaper than a set of jumper cables. I charge mine after a use or every 6 months. so far they still work and hold a charge.
I’ve been using one of these style chargers for several years to run my cpap machine on river camping trips. Works great for about a 7 hour night sleep. Then a solar panel to charge it during the day. The other day my old Dodge pickup battery was flat, lights left on by a child, and when I grabbed the battery booster my 16yo son made several derisive comments about it. I took a let’s see if it works attitude and to both our amazement, it worked! I am a firm believer in jumper cables but am slowly getting one of these for each vehicle in the family.
Thanks for the review just bought the upgraded 2000a audew, for $64.45 on sale. This battery jump starter is awesome. I had a more expensive one that when I finally needed it to start my truck, it didn't have enough juice when fully charged to start my truck. Thanks 👍
I have one of these. I'm am uber driver and have used it several times to help other drivers at the airport waiting lot. Fits in the glove box, an d requires very little maintenance. absolute must have.
Are you still using it? I'm learning here from others that these things can die if left behind in the car in the freezing winter season. These kinds of batteries are apparently terrible for cold weather conditions.
@@DonnieDarko1 yeah I'm still using it. Works great. I'm in Utah, so plenty cold lately. Doesn't seem to have made a difference in it's effectiveness. I do maintain it once a month by making sure it's charged, but that's it. This time of year car batteries die allot. So super useful.
Just bought one using your link, it's a present for my friend whose Prius battery died recently. She already bought a new battery but, this she can keep in her car. Happy Holidays, Cody.
Hey Cody, that is a surprising result for sure! I love the rant at the end and completely agree with you. BTW in the spirit of simplifying things, I recently went from being subscribed to over 240 channels to just six, you made the cut. I was spending too much time on TH-cam watching others do stuff, time to get off my behind and do stuff, so I simplified, and cut back on my subs, which I've decided is the only thing I'll watch on TH-cam. Cheers from Tokyo!
For what it is worth, I work on a construction site as a carpenter. I run equipment from time to time as well and we’ve used a starter similar to this to start our backhoe many times. I never believed the hype on these until my boss showed me how truly useful these are. Thanks for the videos!
Actually some guys want a head lamp with different modes. I use the red light om my headlamp all the time when im sailing in the dark, because i doesn't blind others and ruin my night vision
I had one of these little jumper packs, they're great and can start a car that has a completely dead battery, but I left mine in my trunk when I lived in California and it almost exploded in the heat of the summer. Didn't feel like spending the money to buy another one yet so I just carry jumper cables in my trunk. :)
I personally carry both the jump pack as well as the cables. It may seem overkill but it’s nice to have the option and you don’t have to worry about the pack failing on you if you forget about it.
I had been considering getting one of these for about a year. I got one of these exact starters for my cousin who lives in Maine. I wasn't there when he opened the gift but I saw him later Christmas night, I asked him if he had one already and he said "No I don't, it's a great gift but...I bought a Tesla Model 3 in May. So I got to drive a Tesla last night, and I now own a brand new jump starter. Thank you Cody and Craig!
I've been recommending these to everyone but nobody around me would give me the time of day. I'm glad more and more videos are proving the efficacy of these jump starters.
@@texw4062 If you go back and watch the last 12 months of videos on this channel you will find that Loctite touches almost all aspects of the Wranglerstar adventure. It is not just batteries. It is everywhere. It pops up at the most unexpected times. We believe it gives Cody the fizz. I realize this is a feeble attempt to explain the connection. I am certain other subscribers can help far better than I can.
Nothing Much The Loctite-bottle is kind of a running gag on this channel. He really likes this stuff. And sometimes a bottle of it flies randomly across the screen. Or is photoshoped in funny location or it is integrated in something else. It ones was laying on a belt conveyer that moved sawdust and the Loctite was just going the same way with the sawdust. Just for fun. It has nothing specifically to do with the battery.
The Genesis of it is on one of his "user comment" videos. Someone complained about him always using loctite in his projects. So he's just tweaking that user a bit. I laugh every time I see it! Cody, you do it just right - you don't overdo it, so it never gets old!
I usually carry around with me a JumpNCarry (JNC660) battery booster pack in my primary vehicle, it serves the same purpose as one of those small ones, but it is also powerful enough to power a small winch for a good amount of time (Superwinch Winch in a bag 2500lb Superwinch 1125149 ). You would not believe the versatility of a portable winch with that jump pack as a power source. With the addition of standard ATV winch accessories (a snatch block, carabiners, and some tree straps), you can move just about anything to anywhere you want.
I have a similar device made by DBPower that has been great for camping, recharging everything multiple times. I also bought a NOCO G3500 battery charger. It is amazing at refreshing supposedly dead batteries. Best example is a 17 year old Optima Red Top battery that would not take a charge (after 8 years of service) and had sat in the shop for nine years. After watching a video by Optima, where they used the same NOCO charger to refresh a 19 yr old Red Top, I decided to follow their example and see what happened. I cleaned off a decade of grime, charged at 6 volts with my big NAPA shop charger overnight, then attached the NOCO. The charge indicator did not move from the lowest charge position for 24 hours and I almost stopped the experiment. The next day the indicator light was showing 50%. I left the charger on for another 36 hours (72 hours total) , and the charger indicated 100%. I put a serious drain on the battery with a resistive load tester several times, until I was worried I would damage the tester. The battery performed like a new battery would. I charged the battery again overnight and used it to start an old Scout that had not been started in several years. The Scout was started with no battery problems, and no recharge, and the battery has continued to perform like it was new for two years now. The NOCO has recovered several lawn mower batteries, and has long since paid for itself. All my batteries get a refresh charge every three months, and they perform long past the warranty period.
Cody, my kids lost the alternator on their big block Ford van at the beach. They were towed to my local independent mechanic. The tow truck driver had one of the early condenser starter packs. He said he could start about 6 cars with dead batteries before he had to plug it in and recharge the condenser. My mechanic had one of them and confirmed about 6 jump starts with his jump pack. I bought one immediately. Have had to start my own cars twice in about 2 years. They work. The instructions on mine say you should plug the leads to the dead battery and let the pack recharge the car battery for about 5 minutes before trying to start the vehicle. Then push the start button on the pack. You apparently cannot start and then run the car without the battery in the car hooked to the jump pack. Love the jump pack. Mine cost 125.00 about 3 or 4 years ago. Prices have come down. Possibly made in China now. JoeB
During summer I work on a smallish farm in upstate NY, my boss (the owner) has something similar from DieHard. It's a decent bit bigger than yours, but it still amazes me that it can turn over a 8+ liter I6 engine in a John D. 7820 like it was nothin.
I don't mind a two mode flashlight (high/low) to conserve battery life but yes please leave all the other strobe functions off. Nice Video thanks Cody.
I’ve had that exact jumper for two years now. Its saved me on the SF bay and many others on the water. Biggest engine I’ve put it on was a Ford 460 and it did okay. If you leave the jumper hooked to the battery once the vehicle has started for five or so seconds the device will charge itself from the vehicle. I went almost a year with out having to use the wall charger on mine.
@@billherzog5375 i’ve veen running Audew jump starters in two of my trucks as well as my boat for about a year now. The big size jumped my ford 7.3l diesel. Can’t find many jump packs that can do that
Now that's a gift I need - I will use that out in the field for all sorts of equipment. Wonder if it will heat glow plugs and start diesel tractor. Agree with annoying strobe lights. Engineers overengineer sometimes.
I got the Halo Bolt jump pack and it's amazing. I can start a dead battery dozens of times and it'll still have charge. Not only that but it has USB outputs and a three-prong plug to power most things you want. $99 and worth it. They also have a version with a built-in compressor that's real nice for a bit more. It won't *charge* a battery, but if you have a working alternator, it'll get you going enough to get that working easy
That is a pretty good idea. I could wait all day here for ANYBODY to come by and jump my truck. If somebody did come by they are very likely to have cables, as do i, but there just isn't much traffic. I had a little jumper on my scooter but that was pre-lithium.
Lying in bed laughing maniacally at your flashlight rant. Wife's looking at me like I've lost my mind. I totally agree with you. I want to push for on and push for off. No need for multiple brightness levels or strobe or sos. I know sos. If I need to send an sos I can send it myself!
I had one of these in regular use as a used car dealer more or less. As long as the batteries were healthy it would start anything anytime. We even had a big old diesel with starting issues and we cranked it light 10 or 15times before I got worried that the jump pack might catch fire. My biggest mistake. Then directly charging it. Batteries don't like it when you charge them hot. This thing has no circuit protection whatsoever. Great for starting bad for the batteries. The battery is almost completely dead now. Can't jump even a 1l car with an almost full battery. Originally I bought that as a big power bank and was very skeptical about the jump starter part but it worked just so great! No tossing aroung those heavy lead acid battery packs anymore. I bought the newer model from Amazon accidentally shortly before project farm tested it and it works even better. Great stuff! The old one is now a power bank but really even for that there's no power left. I'm just curious how far I can take it with those cells.
My lithium battery pack has jump started a few stranded vehicles. Every time the guys are shocked that the little pack starts their vehicle. It's a great addition for every emergency kit.
I’m commenting before I watch the vid because my iPad is not cooperating. I own 3 of these starters and they all work. The trick is matching them up to your size engine. The big one I have not only not only starts up my V10 MH but also the 427 Chevy boat engine with 11.5:1 compression. Now if I can ever get my iPad to download I’ll the video!
Its due to the low resistance of the battery, most batteries cant give out lots of current as their own internal resistance is the limiting factor and theyll heat up and fry. The only downside is that the battery will probably be quite damaged and lose 2-4% of its capacity with every full discharge at that high of a current draw. But considering it would be rarely used is not much of an issue.
The flashing mode is for used road flare but i compleatly understand where you are coming from. I do keep one flashing flash light around in my tool box for checking harmonic balancers for wobbles give it a try it makes finding that easyer.
I am an aircraft maintenance technician, and we use the flash mode all the time to indicate to our co-workers that we need their assistance. It's a long ways to walk for help 3 or 4 or more airplanes away.
I've used my Schumacher Electric 1200-Amp Car Battery Jump Starter from Lowe's for years, from tractors to trucks and ATVs. It's $78 and it will last a really long time on one charge, I use the air compressor on it all the time to.
So my story of the flashlight. I bought a headlamp also, for hunting. I wanted a green light mode and they had something at the local “ mom and pop” outdoors store. 4 modes - bright, brighter, brightest, and green. Got it home and out of the package and it did the first 3 great. Turned it to the green and it flashed. Oh I was hot over it. I tried contacting the manufacturer but nothing. I’m going to take it back to the store though. No where does it say anything about flashing anything. Thanks Cody for your Common Mans Shop videos. God Bless
I have had one for the last year or so (got it for last years winter kit) and have probably used it 10 times. Most of those were to jump my bad battery for a week straight until I could get around to picking up a new battery. Best part is that I haven’t even recharged it once - more than anything to test it. I now keep one in every one of my vehicles. The convenience compared to jumper cables is unreal.
I agree with you about the flashing modes on just about all flashlights, however in this particular case, if you're stranded on the side of the highway in the dark, the flashing mode is MUCH better about warning people that you're on the side of the road and that you may need help.
There is another awesome use for these. If you have one with really good capacity and your alternator goes out you can run your car for around 5 minutes with it. When my alternator went out I was somewhat close to a shop, they started my car with a MAC jump pack, closed the hood on it, and drove it into their shop. Maybe 5 minutes of run time wont get you far. But maybe it will get you to a shop 2 miles away, or off of a busy highway.
Agree with the rant also we don't need various brightness levels. Never have I gone for a flashlight and thought 'too bright'. When I want dim I'll light a candle.
I'm sorry but you do need various levels of brightness on high-end flash lights I have 4 that wash out everything if you are up close you need to be atleast 60' away to use the highest power mode olight is the best flashlight brand and make search and rescue Quality flashlights I've on 10 of them and some of them are 10 years old and still work like do and I use them every night at work
It depends... Good flashlights are so bright, that even at half power there is still plenty light for most situations. But the battery lasts way longer at the lower setting which can be way more important than peak brightness in some situations. I like to have the choice!
I was looking at some that were a couple hundred and thought I will keep my jumper cables. But I may look into this one. I agree on the dumb flashing lights too. On and off... Or maybe off, low and high.
I have both a lithium battery jumper but I also keep a set of good quality jumper cables just in case. I have never had my lithium starter fail but if the vehicle won't fire after a couple tried because the vehicle isn't maintained correctly the lithium only has a couple tries at it, so I always have a back up.
I got one for christmas 2 years ago, its amazing. Use it one the riding mower, the quad, the vehicles whatever. Nice to be able to store it in the glovebox
Ahh man gotta be honest I love my multi mode flashlights. I dont need sos, but I honestly do love being able to dim the light. For working on cars and at my job working on circuit boards sometimes 300 lumens is blinding. Additionally, I can save the battery and use it like a candle when camping.
Great review!! I'm impressed with that battery! I didn't think it would work! And seriously, give us a light with a simple on/off switch. NO ONE wants a flashing light! And no one wants a dim setting. Just give us full power when we push the button. Seems so simple.
Those are great - but carry the jumper cables too. These emergency batteries are almost never charged when you need them to be. See if the lithium battery will start the tractor...
That thing is awesome. Btw, I couldn’t agree with you more about the flashlight dilemma. If I wanted a colored flashlight bulb I would buy one specifically for that. I didn’t ask for a flashlight/disco ball. I just want a flashlight that goes on and off. Maybe a zoom lens, but that’s it! Lol
still all depends on if the battery is good or not if the battery is all the way down it will not crank enough i know if you just ran the battery down you will still have amps to turn over the other test is connect the jumper directly to the van without the battery just to the cables to see if it will turn over your battery charger will do it
Reminded me so much of my Dad when you said give me strength during the flashlight rant. I don't know how many times I've heard my dad said that while dealing with some non sense mom was putting him through lol
I make it a habit every time I am in Lowes or Home Depot to pick up a couple of those cheap LED AA flashlights they sell in the checkout aisles. I must have over 50 of them spread out everywhere. In drawers, closets, all over the garage, glove boxes in cars and then under seats, in door pockets, center consoles...No matter where I am there is a flashlight...or two in easy reach. And they are actually pretty good little lights too. On and off. No BS.
I hear you on the flashlights.. I have the same problems. One thing with the lithium battery jumper packs, my father was jumping a quad bike with one, he followed the instructions to the letter, but the thing started to swell really bad. I can't tell you what brand it was, but it has put me off getting one. Use with caution, Cody.
Cody, I doubt you’ll read this but here’s my experience. So I travel for work and I got one of these for my wife’s car. The thought was that if her battery goes flat most likely I will be out of town. It would be nice if she was self-sufficient. Also, how many times does your battery go flat when you’re in a parking garage or somewhere where it’s next to impossible to get to the front of your own car or to the front of the car being jumped if it’s not you? Anyways we have used our battery jumper numerous times. On our own car. But more often than not on somebody else’s car. I charge it every six months. Or after heavy usage. It has started everything except for a big Volvo 18 wheeler.
The only down side is with the recharging over time the charge life will fade so ide keep a pair of jumpers as a back up. I think the best place for storing jumpers is with the spair if in side the trunk or cab.
Cody, if you leave one of these tiny battery jumpstarters with a lithium battery inside in your vehicle in sub-zero temperatures, it will drain down within a few days, and not be able to jump-start a vehicle until warmed indoors and then recharged. In colder climates, the older lead-acid battery jumpstarters seem to hold their charge a lot longer when left outside in a vehicle, and might need to be topped up only once a month or so. I have learned this myself the hard way. The tiny battery jumpstarters are still handy to have in a backpack when snowmobiling, or during a long road trip inside a warm vehicle, or in any warmer climate location. All the vendors are pushing them heavily because they are tiny and light and sexy, but most of them haven't field tested them themselves in colder climates. Just a heads up - keep those old cables in your truck alongside this new battery just in case.
That's a good idea, but I think insulated containers would still cool it eventually within a few days. These jumpstarters are pretty small -- maybe someone can get a big widemouth thermos and see if it stays warm sealed inside one.
This is wrong. I live in the upper Midwest and we see 0 degrees to 20s almost all winter. Mine hold a charge in the glovebox of my truck for months at a time. I have jumped truck batteries that are stone dead, and charge it maybe every 3 months if I use it for a jump or just remember to charge it.
I'm sorry, but i don't know what you mean by "this is wrong". This is my experience with every lithium battery product I own - power tools, smartphones, jumpstarters. Leave a smartphone with 100% charge in a cold parked car when the temperature is 0 degrees fahrenheit and it will drain and shut off in four or five hours at most. Maybe your glovebox is insulated or otherwise enclosed?
The USB connection is also good to charge if you have a cig lighter USB connector with USB ports. Jump your car, then connect it inside your car and the alternator will charge your battery while your battery charges this device giving you permanent jump start ability. I've used a $50 dollar Loftek 1000A over a hundred times on a car with severe parasitic drain and it worked every single time. Just make sure you unplug it from your car after you are done. I am unsure if it drains the battery if you leave it plugged in. Loftek says it shuts off after 100% but I am not 100% sure to take that risk. Seriously though, one of the best things invented I have ever seen. Extremely useful when stuck out in the middle of no where and no one in sight to use cables and many times most people aren't willing to stop and help anyway especially on the freeway.
No joke I used one of these to boost off a 379 Pete with one battery ran straight to the starter. It worked great! Blew everybody’s mind that was watching
I should look into one of these. Been having issues with both vehicles this week. The alternator went out on my daily driver, and the battery was bad on my truck. Got the battery replaced for the truck but still have issues cold starting. IDK maybe the battery I got to replace it was faulty. Had too jump it off my tractor the last two mornings. After this I can definitely justify getting a good charger or just one if these jump starters.
Get a jump n carry 660 man. had my alternator die and battery, bought one hooked it up and drove 25 miles home on it. Used it reliably for about 10 years after. it finally went dead last winter so i got another. maybe a little bigger and a little more expensive. but definatly worth it.
It has a lipo battery inside. We use it in the fpv community all the time to draw as much as 80-100 amps continuously. Guess it can do ~500 peak. 1000 seems a bit much though.
I still not finished watching. But here are my two scents regarding these small lithium jumper boxes / battery packs. I have a cheap one off amazon approx 2 years ago. I have started my car with that thing like 5 times, before I replaced my aged battery. it always worked flawlessy and one full battery pack can start my car multiple times. One thing to note. Diesel engines require more energy and you have to get a battery pack outputting enough amps for it. I run a regular gas car and have had no issues whatsoever with my pack, which also outputs 400 amps.
This was a good video, as i've been debating on getting a boost starter, but BY FAR, the rant about the flashlight may well be the best rant on TH-cam!!! I absolutely can't stand those 2 mode, 3 mode, 5 mode lights!!! I wish they had an explode feature, so if i was gifted one, and it had that, i could make it self destruct!!
I drive a 2015 Prius C. It says in the manual you can not jump people, which I still think is pretty crappy, so I have a 1k AMP NOCOwith me usually. If my ca can't jump it, that thing helped people out a few times. Silly Prius...
Impressive, but the Loctite might have made this an unfair test😁 The dimensions of lithium batteries can be deceiving, they pack about three times the power in the same size as lead acid. I totally agree with the flashlight rant, if you can't come up with a simple switch, stick with on/off.
Great video I've been debating getting one of those for a while but for the same reason as you I haven't but I now think I'll bite the bullet and get one. Also I couldn't agree more about the flashlight thing maybe you should bring out your own range of wranglerlite 😁🤔. Nice to hear you can still get the girls going..
If Jack tries to pick up a girl for a date driving a van, her dad will never let her out of the house. Giving Jack the van will ensure he is single forever.
That would be a terrible first car an old van with a v10 engine that probably gets what six miles to the gallon if he could afford the gas money to drive around in that thing he could probably afford to buy a car that's a whole lot easier on gas and is smaller neighbor has fewer miles on it and easier for a new driver to handle than a huge van that's practically an RV.
Man you hit the nail on the head about the flashlight. I hate that flashing mode. I don't you use the hate word but here it mild to compared to what I'm thinking. Merry Christmas to you and your family
So i was on the solar car team in college. As in we built a working solar powered, single person car. I am an industrial engineer (Mechanical) so i built the car part, as in the suspension, steering and frame. But whenever the electrical part came up, the battery, motor and solar array, me and my team always considered electricity "Polish Magic". Mainly because our professor-supervisor was from Soviet-era Poland and all the the things he tinkered with or nonchalantly talked about could easily kill someone. Have you ever seen a football-sized capacitor, that guy blew up two of them.
Bought a Chinese one years ago, didn't think it would be that great. Tried it on a 6.6 duramax that had been dead for 2 years. Started right up. Mind blown. Use it for everything. As far as the flashlight. You're holding a device used for emergencies. It flashes so you can put it on the road or on your car and people can see you lol. My headlamp for instance goes from 1lm to 1050lm, plus red. I use the low setting to walk the dog. I use the higher settings if I'm in crawl spaces a D I use the red when out hunting to not ruin night vision or be seen. It's not that hard to figure out.
@@TheGuardian_TM yup. Got a noco 1000 amp one for $65 on cyber Monday. They're usually $100. Just keep checking from time to time to catch a good deal.
Don't give people any ideas! How about a led flashlight that mimics the experience from 20 years ago? Heavy and bulky battery pack that delivers 2 minutes of peak brightness and afterwards starts to fade and slightly pump?
This Amazing Little Jump Starter Would Make A Great Christmas Gift ONLY $59

Just a heads up Cody... If that battery is DEAD, dead (like when you leave the ignition on for a week) those boosters will NOT will. Like literally will- not- work.
It senses an over current situation and goes into self-protection mode and will simply refuse to work. I have the Schumacher SL-1 which is about 80 bucks and it works like a champ when it works... but leave the switch on in the work truck for a week and you are hopeless.

NRCustom Hahahaha yes!
I liked the bonus rant. I completely agree with the flashlight commentary. On or off is all I need.
the flashing mode is to draw attention in emergency i think.
In the extremely rare event I need it to strobe I could just wave my hand back and forth in front of it or swing it up and down.
lets be honest he is right what he's saying lol i still laugh at the lock tight jokes
The stobe is usually for self defence. A bright light can really mess with someone in the right conditions.
Some of these batteries can dump 10C which is 10 times their current rating for a few seconds. Some LifeP04 type batteries can dump 100C.
Thanks 👍
We took a larger one backpacking in Yellowstone for our electricity source. It was only down to 2 bars out of 4, after 7days of constant use!
@Roy Ayers 276 it will be one of these massive 1200 dollar power station things.
Did I hear 2008 Christmas ideas?
hahaha I had to rewind it when I heard it just to make sure of what I heard. :)
yes you did
I heard that as well
Actually some guys want a head lamp with different modes. I use the red light om my headlamp all the time when im sailing in the dark, because i doesn't blind others and ruin my night vision
totally agree but that should be a special type not on every one
Andreas Mathisen that’s fine it should have a separate button for it
I use red headlamps when flying at night for the same reason !
Shut up
Or... Have more than one button.
Totally agree with the rant.
I've been recommending these to everyone but nobody around me would give me the time of day. I'm glad more and more videos are proving the efficacy of these jump starters.
Don't discount the value of the Loctite boost!
I didn't understand that part. What's up with loctite and batteries?

What brand is it and would you still recommend it? I really need one thanks
I feel like every time you say that something won’t work it totally does and you are dumbfounded. I love it. Keep up the good videos. 😀
Eat a hat! Laughed so hard I nearly spilled my coffee.
Do you have a link of yours?
It was the Locktite.
Spot on with the rant...no more strobes!
That rant about the flashlight was great! I had that same rant to myself yesterday
Those are great - but carry the jumper cables too. These emergency batteries are almost never charged when you need them to be.
See if the lithium battery will start the tractor...
Love it!.....wiping the brow, sizing up the charger and and cant believe it. Priceless laughter
I bought a big battery pack a few years ago. Its a must have. I have 4 tractors and do snow removal. That thing pretty much starts anything.
Lol
I have one of the jump start packs. Works great had to use it three times before I could get the batter replace.
still all depends on if the battery is good or not if the battery is all the way down it will not crank enough i know if you just ran the battery down you will still have amps to turn over the other test is connect the jumper directly to the van without the battery just to the cables to see if it will turn over your battery charger will do it
Exactly thanks for sharing
Reminded me so much of my Dad when you said give me strength during the flashlight rant. I don't know how many times I've heard my dad said that while dealing with some non sense mom was putting him through lol
I havent tested any large vehicles, but i jump started an older motorcycles starter, and my 1996 honda civic with an amazon Aickar Jump starter.
That flashing light and SOS on these battery boosters is a great idea they just need to simplify it.
What about storing it in an insulated box ?
@@ArthA122 - Insulation slows down heat escaping. Where is the heat going to come from in the box?
Yeah my brother has one that’s much more expensive but it can start his school bus and not lose a bar of charge. It’s incredible
No joke I used one of these to boost off a 379 Pete with one battery ran straight to the starter. It worked great! Blew everybody’s mind that was watching
Agree , just one light or a separate button.
I have three of them just for phone backup and the jumpstart is just a bonus
I agree with those lights!
Impressive little jump pack. I am with you on the flash light thing.
Haha that flashlight rant
Totally agree with you about the flash lights. 👍
Love having the lithium-ion jump starter but still carry cables.... They're harder to loose and I never fotget that I left them in the house charging.
Save the old van for Jack!
Yep, never going on any dates driving a van with a bed in the back.
Man you hit the nail on the head about the flashlight. I hate that flashing mode. I don't you use the hate word but here it mild to compared to what I'm thinking. Merry Christmas to you and your family
you can use the starter even without the battery ,that its a very nice invention
The Loctite drop was priceless!! I laughed so hard. Great touch. Thanks for the video.
Amen on the flashlight thing!
scotty kilmer does as review on one similar to that , it looks really good but $150 is s little high
@@TheGuardian_TM yup. Got a noco 1000 amp one for $65 on cyber Monday. They're usually $100. Just keep checking from time to time to catch a good deal.
if i had a hat on id start eatting it... lol
The perfect joke christmas gift is a flashlight that can only SOS flash!
