You look amazing!!! I’ve been following you since the very beginning and you continue to inspire me. Definitely body goals girl! Now let me stop playing and start to claim my body back after this baby ❤️
You look fabulous 🥰 and just too be clear you were already a beautiful women. But I know the struggle too feel good for yourself and about yourself. Great job 👏👏💞💖 I've been subscribed too you for 2yrs. Because of makeup, you have always shined and hope you know that Shayla 💖💕💞💝 Godspeed 🙏

@@er.8109 and who wants to workout everyday?! Booooooooo! If you power walk 4 days a week for 30 mins or an hour you can eat wtf you want and have a nice body with a nice ass! Trust!
Lol, Folk's bodies respond differently to different things. Some people can't power walk. Some people can't hit the gym 2 to 4 times a week. Some folks don't have the discipline or the means to eat out sensibly and or healthy everyday. So it's easier to cut it out altogether. The title of the video is "My" (meaning Shayla's) fitness and nutrition update. It's ok if her routine doesn't match up with ours. It's what her body responds to. We take the meat and spit out the bones.
@@ShariseH that person that can't power walk, can't hit the gym, or can't discipline themselves to eat out or eat healthy will not be able to just cut it all out! If their that weak that they can't do all of those things, their break that diet everyday!
A bit of misinformation here I want to correct. 1. In order loss weight you have to be in a calorie deficit. Meaning you are eating less than your maintenance calories aka the calories you need to stay your weight. The determining factors are your height, weight, and age. 2. Cardio burns calories which can translates to fat on the body or in some cases muscle if you are not eating properly. A lb is 3500 cals FYI. So yes cardio will help you lose weight and in some cases build muscle. However strength training helps build muscle faster if done properly. Hence why most body builder do various training of both cardio and strength. 3. There is no magic switch in your body that says don’t burn fat unless you have little fat to burn (referring to your comment about cardio). Misinformation such as this can cause someone trouble. 4. There are a lot of people with degrees whom studied for years that can guide you properly. One person being Greg doucette who is a body builder and a coach with a masters here on TH-cam. 5. Personal trainers do not have to go To school for years, nor do nutritionist. They can literally have a hs diploma and be training people with little knowledge.... so be wary of their advice make sure they have the credentials to back it up. Seek help from a MD, dietitian, and an expert with the education that can help you.... I am a former professional boxer, and my mother is a former dietitian. Not an expert but I know a few things.
I agree. I cut cardio and did strictly weights and did not lose fat. I was firm but did not look lean... just firm and strong. I do t25 5 days a week and now all that work at th gym is coming through. I am way more defined and you can actually see my muscles where as without cardio I just had a layer of fat over the muscle. Burpees, push-ups , planks, and other body bearing exercises do help build muscle. Pull ups as well.
I’m glad someone chimed in. I get the goal of these posts but a lot of the commentary is not accurate from a scientific standpoint. Maybe a better video would be one with her nutritionist. Also a lot of IG fitspos are not qualified trainers.
I agree 100% with your comment. You must be in a caloric deficit to lose weight. Period. I lost over 130lbs. and never weighed one ounce of food (not saying weighing food is wrong). But when people weigh food they’re really focused on a specific goal (building muscle/competition). Lifting weights build muscle...more muscles, more calories burned throughout the day. Well said. 👏🏾👍🏾
Hi Shayla I have to correct you a little. For optimal overall health, it’s important to combine cardio and weight lifting. Cardio burns overall body fat during and shortly after a workout and weight lifting burns fat during and after a workout. Weight lifting boosts your resting metabolic rate, meaning that for every pound of muscle you gain you burn an extra 50 calories at rest per day doing nothing. Muscle weighs more than fat but doesn’t take up as much room on your body so you can gain 15 lbs of muscle for example and look much leaner than if you were to gain 15 lbs of fat. Also, cardio strengthens your heart, lungs, keeps your arteries soft and pliable, and increases blood flow to the brain for optimal cognition. So don’t stop doing cardio. 150 minutes of cardio per week is what the top fitness and nutrition organizations recommend. So do both! ❤️❤️❤️
THANK YOU for stating this! She was flat out wrong on this one-shocked me to hear it actually. Cardio burns fat. There is no magic button in our bodies that switches off fat burning when you start doing cardio. In fact, most MDs say that if you want to lose fat if you are overweight, you should walk 30 mins or more a day, 5 or more days a week (i.e. do cardio). Losing fat is an energy balance. Burning more calories than you intake leads to fat loss. You burn fat through cardio and lifting weights. Load bearing exercise or lifting weights is important for bone health, cardio is important for heart health.
@@tinkerbelle8304 *you're correct, but I think when ppl word that wrongly, they REALLY mean "15lbs of muscle looks different/smaller than 15lbs of fat..."*
This is actually misinformation. Weight loss is simple calories in vs out doesn’t matter how you burn it. Weights gives you shape cause you build muscle. Look up Greg doucette he give factual info about weight loss
Keto and intermittent fasting changed my life. I lost 45 lbs! The carb manager app is amazing for counting your macros and calories. You look amazing🙌🏽! More motivation for me to start working out more.
This is great advice. Consistency and patience are key. It’s easy to get discouraged when you don’t see big results every week. I struggle with this. One thing that helps is asking myself if my decisions align with my goals. Whether I don’t feel like working out or want to eat extra. Thanks for sharing your journey.
I love these updates! You have been so inspirational while im on my own journey. I started keto from your videos and now i have modified it to fit my lifestyle. 60lbs down and counting! Thanks Shayla! Keep em coming!
I love that you said YEARS. Facts and encouraging. I have been on this journey for about 1 year and 3 months. It is slow and I am learning what works for me. Slow and steady...wins the race
Shayla. I wasn’t following you when you were the size in the first photo in the thumbnail. So, nonetheless, the photo surprised me a little. But it also encourages me a great deal. The thumbnail simply says, “Put in the work and get results.” That’s what I’m going to do. Thanks for posting.
Can i add that you burn fat with cardio too lol, muscle gives you definition. Cardio can be helpful with sprints sometimes too.or you can do like a full body circuit that can be cardio too :)
It’s also great for your cardiovascular health and can help you fit in a few extra calories that your macros otherwise might not have permitted. My workouts are 4x a week consisting of 20 min cardio warm up before weight training for around an hour and 15 min. I just don’t want people thinking that cardio has no place in weight loss/fitness, because it does. Diet (most important and hardest to maintain, honestly) + weight training + a little cardio is a great combo for transforming your body.
I've lost 85 pounds, (45 of that this year). I don't use a food scale, but I do count calories. Most of my food is pre-packaged so that's how I have accurate calories. I do eat a salad every day. I don't snack. I cut animals, sugar and alcohol from my diet. I never wonder what I am going to eat cause I have prepared meals on hand at all times.I pretty much dont work out at all. I was going for daily walks but it's too hot here in Texas for that now. I do plan to get a trainer next year when hopefully COVID gets better. I want to lose 75 more pounds. If you want to follow my weight loss journey, check out my TH-cam page.
Well done, but you will definitely need to start working out soon. To aid with further loss and getting your body into shape once you get closer to your goal. As you are losing a lot of weight, i would say the sooner the better as will help with excess skin too.
Congratulations on your weight loss!! I live in South Florida, so I'm with you about not being about that heat! I do indoor walking videos from TH-cam (1, 2, 3, or 5 miles). Some videos use handweights. You could add ankle and/or wrist weights as well. Hope this is helpful! Good luck in your journey!
Omg yes I have type 2 diabetes and I crave sugar so much!!! 😫 I also do intermittent fasting and it works, I just have to be consistent. I’m working toward a lifestyle change and it’s very challenging. But we got this girl! ✨
mariah maxton it’s sure a challenge. I am from the Caribbean and miss all my favorite foods I grew up eating. Every single one. And I have to work out every other day. Ugh 😩 it’s exhausting keeping up with it but it’s working so I should not be complaining
I have 2 friends who are doing keto & they stop taking their medication for diabetes. I do dirty keto, it’s more flexible and i enjoy plenty of foods, but really lowcarb is the way to go if keto is too restricted for you. 😊😊
Claudia _90 I am not on any diabetes medication I got off that in the first 2 months I was diagnosed. Diet and exercise helped me get it under control. Intermittent fasting works for me. I am happy to hear it worked for your friends.
Thank you for posting your workouts on Instagram. My sister and I follow you everyday and helps me remember what to do upper, lower, whatever you do we do. It’s so motivational and encouraging. We got the bands you use and all. Thank you for being such an inspiration! Love ya Shayla!
Sis be killing it when it comes to telling us how to make your body look great and health and nutrition and breaking things down that's so important thank you for motivating us lady's she differently means what she say her body and beauty is living proof of that # not just talk.
I can't believe y'all been together that long! I love watching your IG for your fitness just as much as makeup. I've recently 🙃 started a fitness journey & I want it to just be my lifestyle from now on. You've always been so inspiring & now that I'm trying to get healthier, I can't wait to see more. Thanks for the motivation💜💜💜
Shayla thank you! I’ve gained about 30 lbs this year and I am so unhappy with how I look. I needed this video. I’ve been exercising but I’ll admit I am not losing weight because I need to make diet corrections. “I know someone needs to hear this, don’t go out to eat every other day.” Thank you for saying that.
So proud of you Shayla!!! Look at you go sis! I started keto because of you and it has helped so much then I started lifting when you started and the results are amazing! Still got hella stomach fat but one day, it will all go away! Keep being an inspiration! #strutandslay❤️💃🏽
I understand the happy weight gain at the beginning of a relationship! I lost 90 lbs before I met my boyfriend and gained 20 back from all the dinners and sweets we have. You’ve encouraged me to start my journey again! First step, goodbye soda! ✌🏽
I actually watched your story about a month ago and saw such a difference in your body in what seemed out of nowhere. Your mid section especially! You are looking so toned and snatched. All your hard work in paying off and it’s so inspiring!!! Keep going shayla! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Hey Shayla! Thanks for the great info. Im 49 & Im going through pre menopause and OMG!!! I have gained so much weight. I was doing cardio everyday and recently switch to lifting weights & eating more and already I see a big difference. I really appreciate this video. You are right, we think losing weight means eating less, hence, (starving) and doing cardio. Thanks so much for the motivation. ❤️😘
Oh my God you sound just like me LOL please share your experience with me. I work out every single day and have been for the last two years. I focus mostly on cardio (sometimes I’ll do as much as two hours in a day), but I also incorporate strength training about four hours per week. I can’t lose a pound 🙄
Love your journey shayla💕 . I am finally working on my lifestyle change. I made the decision to stop vegan 🌱 cause I realized it was too restrictive for my lifestyle. I stopped drinking coffee and wine saw massive weight loss. I run 4-5x weekly and do toning exercises I eat a ton of veggies and switched to mainly seafood. Lost 8lbs I’m 5’9 149lbs. I feel so much happier to see my body change back to where it was. As soon as the gym is safe again I will be the first in line.Great video ☺️
Swear by the keto diet for weight loss and increased energy levels!!! But I can attest that moving over to a modified low carb/higher protein diet did allow me to see greater muscle definition as well!! Go girl!! Been following your journey and you’re an inspiration.
Yep low carb high protein is what I do. Been doing that for 6 months and I love how my body looks more and more each day. Keep up the good work Queens.
Shayla, I have been following you through your journey and you continue to inspire me. I started keto because of you and then I transitioned to OMAD and I was at my goal weight, I felt great, I looked great, I had so much energy until.... I feel off the wagon literally :-( thank you for making this video because I really need to get my diet back on track and seeing how great you look and how consistent you have been; I know I can do it again and stay focused. Congrats you look AMAZING!
Listen I love my alcohol too lol I only drink straight liquor on the rocks or with soda water (zero cal). Don’t drink Tonic water. It has so many carbs. I only drink on the weekends, S-Thursday is super clean eating for me
Also, It takes a few weeks to break a habit. So if you eat a lot of sweets, throw them away or challenge yourself to a 14 day no sweets challenge. After a while you won’t crave It anymore
This video gives me so much hope - I just filmed a postpartum update with my body. 6 weeks into my fitness journey and I can hear the devil calling “eat the cake” “this is going to take forever” “where’s the abs” this is a journey it’s got its ups and down. Just like anything in life. When you said it takes YEARS it gave me more hope because I know that this is the long game and I got time to get it right! Thank you ❤️
We were never taught that that eating less makes you lose weight. You teach your children to eat 5 times a day breakfast snack lunch snack and dinner. Somehow we lost sight of that. It is what you eat not how many times.
Yes health and fitness! I'm here for it. I actually lost 22 lbs so far during quarantine w/intermittent fasting and working out! Encouraging everyone to keeping going - I'm sure you'll get to whatever goal you're trying to reach!
I've been on WAG for 8 months now and I've seen good results and I've also slipped back out of tracking fatigue and just life getting overwhelming. I discovered WAG and the idea of macro counting from this video and I came back to visit today to get my head back in the game. I have goals and I want to get there and I've invested so much already. Thanks for sharing and being a motivation. ❤️
You are GOALS! I remember when you started keto, just realized how long I’ve been following you! 💕I am starting a new diet tomorrow. Wish me luck! Thank you for the motivation!
It makes me so happy that you have started working with a nutritionist, I was not 💯 on board with your keto journey but I wasn’t a negative person who shamed you for it because you did get healthier and happier. I just love when people promote macros and and balance with caloric deficit to lose weight and get healthier. You’re looking fabulous and you can just see how happier you are with the balance! 💖 keep rocking it and talking about it with your audience!
I was right about to ask if you're eating the same thing daily then you confirmed. I definitely could not do that, i lose my appetite after a repetition
Thanks for being so honest and transparent. We sometimes get fooled by people who claim the get it done in 3 months and that causes us to be impatient and quit. You are right, it’s a journey and we have to keep going and eventually we’ll see the results. You look amazing!!!
You literally motivate me everyday to get my ass up and workout and have a healthy life. Your transformation motivates every cel in my body to work as hard as i can. Thank you so much for that and for sharing ❤️❤️
I just started keto a few months ago and have lost 20 pounds. I want to be able to wear gymshark leggings because they don’t fit me 😫 You have inspired me so much to start keto and I’m happy to continue to see your fitness journey!
Thank you. I started last year and now it’s been one year and six months and I lost 50 pounds. I see a nutritionist to. Now I am going to try to get lean. Congratulations on your success. And thank you for the encouragement today.
I’m so happy for you! I love seeing your consistency and dedication with your diet and workouts 🙌🏾 And girl the toast with peanut butter and bananas is becoming my ish 😘
I am going through the exact same thing. i did keto for about a year and was able to lose about 35lbs. i started to change up my workouts and lift more and my weight loss has stalled but my body is definitely getting leaner. you are looking great girl, keep it up!
I'm two months into lifting and eating mindfully again. Thank you so much for this video and for your honesty about your changes and shifts in your habits along the way. So helpful and encouraging. I love your Insta workout videos too. They're always motivating for me. You're so beautiful inside and out
You look so amazing Shayla! I think the moral of the story when it comes to weight loss and fitness journeys is that everyone is different. What works for one person may not work for another, and that’s why having a dietitian or medical professional to help guide you on your personal journey is so important. I have PCOS, so because of the way my hormones are imbalanced, I’ve been recommended to reduce or cut out dairy, meat/eggs, sugar, caffeine, and alcohol. Cardio also isn’t great for women with PCOS, it’s much better to do weight lifting, HIIT, yoga, or light cardio like walking. I’ve personally seen my body transform to be so much leaner and healthier (I lost 20 lbs over the last few months, AND I have abs now 😭) with those changes - and you hit the nail on the head, consistency is key. Not only is my body leaner, but my cholesterol is down, my blood pressure is down, my energy level is higher, I’m sleeping better. There’s implications for my long term health that go way beyond my weight and physical appearance.
You look great! I like that you are honest and not sugar coating anything. Sometimes we need to hear that, I get frustrated that I’m not seeing results faster but the reality is that it takes time and consistency.
You are absolutely gorgeous at every size you have ever been and I myself have heard this so many times over the years but I think we all see ourselves at place we want to be and our fitness, health and emotional well being is better when we our comfortable in the size we want to be! You look absolutely fantastic! I’ve followed along with your journey and I do a ton of your workouts 💗
One thing that people need to understand is that the only thing that affects gaining or loosing weight is calories burnt vs calories in. Now calories burnt can come from exercise (and that is lifting or cardio - cardio is not the Devil! Certain body types need more cardio than others and you burn more calories in the same time during exercise, but nothing after you are done as opposed to lifting) ) or just being alive 😛 but ideally you want to have more muscle mass in your body because it burns calories even if you are resting! To build muscles you have to do weight training/lifting and eat a surplus of calories. Those calories are used to repair your muscles after a workout which builds them up! But eating too much will then also lead to fat gain because the excess calories are stored as fat cells in your body. Now the Macro Split shayla is Talking about can help getting the most out of the energy/repair process I just described. But it is not essential to gaining or losing weight. I personally think getting your macros right makes you overall healthier because you get more of the right nutrients in but it also makes you stick to your diet a lot better because you are feeding your body what it is craving! Also, did shayla really just have to demo to people how to weigh food??? 😂😂😂😂😂
Z.C.M ehmmm says who? there is endless scientific proof that it is the only relevant aspect and has been studied for decades. A nutritionist will tell you the same as Shayla’s has too!
This video was so real. I could tell you not only use the vocabulary that trainers and nutritionists try to get people to accept, you really understand what it takes to achieve results. There's a difference between this what some others say, and this really permeated for me.
I love how you go right to the point and give the real details of how you achieved so much success. Thank you for being so honest. This has been very very helpful. May God bless you.
Thank you for being so real about it being a lot of work (prepping food, counting calories etc.) because it is! That’s what discourages people from continuing with their weight loss journey. I agree, it’s a lot of work but doable!
I think what Shayla was trying to convey is that the average female is afraid to lift weights. Their idea of working out is spending an hour on the elliptical or treadmill. The more cardio you do, the more you’ll HAVE to do just to see results. Anything beyond 20 minutes is a waste. Strength training is LIFE.
PERIOD!!! Muscle weighs more than fat so even if the scale says more/ the same number it's about how you look and feel. Love this! Don't be afraid to EAT and be STRONG, it's not about losing weight and being "skinny" but healthy
Thank you for this video, I'll be catching up with your fitness journey. I supper thrilled to be getting back on track after losing 20-29lbs so far. Congrats again.
I thought I was the only one who wants to eat lunch 2 hours after breakfast LOL. Most times I skip breakfast altogether though. Anyway, it's great to see your progress. It's very clear that you are very disciplined. You stay consistent with your health and your TH-cam channel.
Hi Shayla, It's rare that I comment on an influencers page but I wanted to say Thank you for sharing your fitness journey. I have been following your journey since you have started and for me NOW is the time . I have a similar body type as yours and love to see influencers share their lives with us to encourage us to be our best selves. Please continue to share your journey. Be Safe Everyone and Be Kind !
My sound went out on my phone😩 due to a bad flood in Miami a couple months ago. My phone fell in but I dived right in after it lol. Long story short the only thing that just gave out is my sound gonna get a new phone. But I'm still watching you sis😄🙆💜💜💜💜
I redid all my socials and haven’t been following you since because of it and finally found your channel again. I’m so happy for you. I remember seeing how hard you would work with your workouts and starting keto. You’re doing great, very inspiring
Please keep doing those fitness journey updates ! Like a meal of the month series or a highlight on Instagram about your food 🍲 I love your transformation !!!
Shaylaaa! I’m so proud of you! I started this journey with you when you were on keto and I’m so happy to see your results. Also within myself I’ve seen so many results. I’m so proud of you shayla !!
Weight loss is More mental than physical. I do so good eating healthy for 2 months. Then I fall back into my old habits. Cheesecake Factory is my weakness I'm guilty of that. Good tasting unhealthy food is my weakness. It's like a disease that has no cure 🙄🤦🏾♀️. I will get it together I know anything I put my mind to i can achieve it. I'm a Capricorn" When we get sick and tired of being sick and tired we will change the situation. Pray for me Ladies 😂😂😂😂🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
Its ALWAYS so interesting to listen to what other do to loose weight vs what I have been doing. Everyones body is different and everyone cares about different things on there life style change. You go girl!!!
Thank you for being consistent when sharing your fitness journey, Shayla! It’s one of my faves! I’m always learning new ideas & workouts from you to utilize in my own fitness journey. It’s encouraging to see your hard work pay off! 🤗🙌🏽
If you do keto it has to be clean. I did it after both pregnancies with my last being twins. Getting a nutritionist who is also well trained in personal training is a great benefit. Intermittent fasting is also great. I highly recommend getting a trainer, coach, etc.
This video was helpful coming from a person that has been doing this for a while and hasnt had some surgery and then claiming they got this body with hard work. I truly appreciate this video
I learned that some areas of your body will take longer to transform. And right now I’m learning to be ok with the number on the scale. I lost about 20lbs when I first started working out back in 2019, but I’ve gained it back. HOWEVER, I don’t look it. I look more fit and I’m happy with that. Only weighing myself and taking measurements once a month.
I love these videos that you make about the struggles of weight gain and weight loss because it’s not easy but it is amazing when you see the progression! Keep up the great work you look good girl 💕
You look great Shayla and I'm happy to see someone just being realistic about the time it takes to really see changes and the commitment it takes. I am just starting my fitness journey after procrastinating for the last 2 years. I had twins 2 years ago and I've done nothing really except make excuses as to why I can't commit to getting healthy. I recently had the "I looked in the mirror and saw what I was looking like and said wow you have to do better" moment so I'm ready now! Thanks for the video.
Now I understand about macros now just by the way you explained it. You look amazing and always by the photos you shared. Yes we definitely have to be patient and consistent on this journey. I've finally decided to stick with my routine of taking care of every part of my self. There is no rush!
This is so informative Shayla!! Seeing your results and how much you’ve improved in every aspect inspires me so so much! I’m due in 6 days to a baby girl and I can’t wait to get back to lifting. I learn SO much from you from beauty to strength mental & physical you’re a true inspiration! It’s an honor to have been following you for so many years you keep it real👑 ❤️❤️
I love your videos. I’ve been procrastinating about getting back with my trainer. I’ve gained 30 pounds since September 19. My eating habitats are horrible now. Thank you for this video...also I’m so tired of people that watch videos just to give thumbs down 🙄🙄. How could you not like this videos?
The macros thing is so hard for me. I ate a pear and MFP said I was over my carb intake for the day lol. I think you’re right it’s all about consistency.
Great information! Your meals seem very practical and healthy. Good advice as well as practical and realistic information! I REALLY APPRECIATE the info regarding Instagram workouts. Since Covid, I have no more sessions with my trainer. This is helpful for me to get back on track and get back to all the hard work I had put into getting in shape. These past four months has made me slack and lose accountability! Great wake up to reality call! You look wonderful! Thank you! 🙏🏻💗💐👍🏼
I’m on day 5 for Keto. I’m 5’2 and weigh 136. My goal is 120. After I reach that I want to see how I look and maybe lose more. I know to some people it seems like I’m good but like Shayla said I don’t recognize myself anymore.
I’ve been struggling getting my body back in like the last year.. but this def gave me some motivation to get back into it and just go hard❤️❤️ i appreciate you babe! Keep inspiring!
You inspired me to start my fitness journey and I'm 60+ pounds down! Thanks for motivating me and continuing to share your journey. I love you, you're amazing. XOXO
Shayla I’ve been following soooo long. Thank you for being such an inspirational person for all of us. I started KETO last month and loss 22lbs so far. I hope to be where you are in your journey one day ❤️❤️
Thank you to everyone who encourages me to keep going! You motivate me so much!🙌🏾🙌🏾
You look amazing!!! I’ve been following you since the very beginning and you continue to inspire me. Definitely body goals girl! Now let me stop playing and start to claim my body back after this baby ❤️
Wish I had your control!! Maybe some day...ill get sick of it

So politely and well written and fully correct! Thanks for taking time to put out correct information.
Well said. 👏🏾👍🏾
Agree with this so much! Most important is a calorie deficit which I don’t hear many people talk about. You couldn’t have said it better!
Muscle doesn’t weigh more than fat. 1lb of muscle is the same as 1lb of fat; however their densities are different.
Thank you for this info 🙏🏽 so helpful!
@@tinkerbelle8304 *you're correct, but I think when ppl word that wrongly, they REALLY mean "15lbs of muscle looks different/smaller than 15lbs of fat..."*
@@sekretsneed7039 lol she was 'flat out wrong' but it's what has worked for her. 🤡
I guess I’ll start eating clean once I’m done with this burger 🙃
Girl I’m thinking the same damn thing 😂
Gurlllll
Kendall Massey 😂
😂😂😂 put the burger down 🗣🗣
Makeupshayla oh shit!!! Shayla replied 😭❤️🙌🏼 Love you girl! No more burgers for me 😅
“Cardio burns calories, lifting weights burns fat.” BOOM! 🤯
Just understood this today! 😳
😳 I’ve been trying to lose fat the wrong way...
This is actually misinformation. Weight loss is simple calories in vs out doesn’t matter how you burn it. Weights gives you shape cause you build muscle. Look up Greg doucette he give factual info about weight loss
That's wrong you need both cardio and weight training.

"the best thing you can do is...just start" --- PREACH!!!
Keto and intermittent fasting changed my life. I lost 45 lbs! The carb manager app is amazing for counting your macros and calories. You look amazing🙌🏽! More motivation for me to start working out more.
How long did it take you to lose that amount
It took me almost 4 months.
This is great advice. Consistency and patience are key. It’s easy to get discouraged when you don’t see big results every week. I struggle with this. One thing that helps is asking myself if my decisions align with my goals. Whether I don’t feel like working out or want to eat extra. Thanks for sharing your journey.
"It's not easy but it's doable."
Thanks Shayla ❤️
I love these updates! You have been so inspirational while im on my own journey. I started keto from your videos and now i have modified it to fit my lifestyle. 60lbs down and counting! Thanks Shayla! Keep em coming!
60 LBS!!!! Omg YASSSSSSSS🙌🏾🙌🏾
I love that you said YEARS. Facts and encouraging. I have been on this journey for about 1 year and 3 months. It is slow and I am learning what works for me. Slow and steady...wins the race
Sis wym the results have BEEN showing!! You look so happy! ☺️
Shayla. I wasn’t following you when you were the size in the first photo in the thumbnail. So, nonetheless, the photo surprised me a little. But it also encourages me a great deal. The thumbnail simply says, “Put in the work and get results.” That’s what I’m going to do. Thanks for posting.
🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾
She said y’all need to stop eating CFA and I literally went 😟😳 because I was dead ass eating CHICK FIL A 🥺. Needed to hear that!
Arrg I eat it every week 😕 But I get the market salad lol
That spicy chicken sandwich must have drugs in it.So addictive.
Same! I just finish eating Chick fil a and was looking for some workout inspo. Lol😁
I had literally just finished eating Chick Fil A when she mentioned it! 😩
Giiiiirl. I’m in the line at Chick Fil A while watching this. 😭 I’m watching this video to learn so I’m gonna enjoy it for now.
I love the low carb tortillas by mission. Its only 4 carbs and taste like the real thing!
They are so clutch! The tortillas stay on my grocery list.
Where can buy the tortillas please and thank you.
@@royalt538 You an get them at any grocery store. Its usually with all the tortillas. Target carries them too.
@@PaigeMelissa Thank you so much. Stay blessed. Amena.
I make bbq chicken wraps...sooo good!
Biggest take away; sometimes the missing factor is time. Thank you Shayla 🙏🏽🙌🏽❤️
Yes!!
Good luck in your journey!
vickinicole good job sis!!! I’m like dang 45 pounds this year and it’s only JULY!!! That’s super exciting
Did you prep your food you’re self or did someone do it for you?
@@kittothekat427 I only eat pre-packaged food so I don't have to prep anything. Mostly vegetarian meals and salad.
Sugar is my devil because I have diabetes. I can’t do keto either I had no energy. Intermittent fasting works better for me. You look great!
I second that..
Thank you!!🥰
Aww dam, yall gon make me make another ig page. I just came back from the beach and my pictures are horrid 😖
Thank you 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾
Shayla thank you!
I felt that when you said stop eating out every day..This message is for me because food is my weakness 😩🤦🏾♀️
Food os everyone’s weakness
So proud of you Shayla!!! Look at you go sis! I started keto because of you and it has helped so much then I started lifting when you started and the results are amazing! Still got hella stomach fat but one day, it will all go away! Keep being an inspiration! #strutandslay❤️💃🏽
Thank you !!!🥰🥰
Once I got off keto gained all my weight plus some
Stacy Robinson I gained half of the weight back but I started weightlifting same time as she started and it went away
💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾 thank you!
Wow I was just coming to your page to see what you have been eating because I’m trying to get my life together. This is perfect timing!
I love how you keep us updated on your fitness journey. Oh, and just FYI... the results BEEN showing, Sis. Strut and slay!!
🥰🥰🥰
Love your journey shayla💕 . I am finally working on my lifestyle change. I made the decision to stop vegan 🌱 cause I realized it was too restrictive for my lifestyle.
I stopped drinking coffee and wine saw massive weight loss. I run 4-5x weekly and do toning exercises I eat a ton of veggies and switched to mainly seafood. Lost 8lbs
I’m 5’9 149lbs.
💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾
Yep low carb high protein is what I do. Been doing that for 6 months and I love how my body looks more and more each day. Keep up the good work Queens.
Shayla, I have been following you through your journey and you continue to inspire me. I started keto because of you and then I transitioned to OMAD and I was at my goal weight, I felt great, I looked great, I had so much energy until.... I feel off the wagon literally :-( thank you for making this video because I really need to get my diet back on track and seeing how great you look and how consistent you have been; I know I can do it again and stay focused. Congrats you look AMAZING!
My biggest question: how do you tackle cravings and drinks ???? I’m not trying to sound like an alcoholic lol but I love drinking and sweets.
Detox with herbs
Makeupshayla what do you think of white claws and those similar drinks?
Nina Detox detox with herbs??? Please explain!
“You can’t have chick fil a every day and expect to see results” I feel attacked! 😂😂😂
I love when Shayla says “ok” and then laughs !! Lol but Shayla girl you are looking amazing !!! Thank you for this extremely detailed vid♥️
Weight Lifting is EVERYTHING!!!
I'm two months into lifting and eating mindfully again. Thank you so much for this video and for your honesty about your changes and shifts in your habits along the way. So helpful and encouraging. I love your Insta workout videos too. They're always motivating for me. You're so beautiful inside and out
We been noticing that you look amazing 💕
Would love to know your weight changes, it’s the missing piece of the puzzle 🧩 on your fitness journey videos
On her keto video she mentioned the weight changes but for some it’s not about the number on scale but body changes.
You look BOMB. Inspiring me everyday. I’m going to get a nutritionist this year.
You look great! I like that you are honest and not sugar coating anything. Sometimes we need to hear that, I get frustrated that I’m not seeing results faster but the reality is that it takes time and consistency.
Drizzle some honey, Greek yogurt, flax seed on your peanut butter and banana toast... I swear it’s bomb. I like to make sure the bread is toasted too!
Honey is high in sugar 😫😫 I try to limit my sugar as often as possible
No. Sorry. Calories in vs Calories out is wrong. Sorry.
“The ice cream you eat every night, cut it out.” Me sitting eating my second ice cream sandwich 😦.
I love how you go right to the point and give the real details of how you achieved so much success. Thank you for being so honest. This has been very very helpful. May God bless you.
The biggest thing I have to overcome is my addiction to sweets (peppermints to be exact). But his video was very informative and inspiring.
Throw them all away. That’s what I did. Anything that tempted me, I didn’t keep in the house
Thank you for being so real about it being a lot of work (prepping food, counting calories etc.) because it is! That’s what discourages people from continuing with their weight loss journey. I agree, it’s a lot of work but doable!
When you said you’re such a Virgo and you plan ahead especially meals I do the exact same thing lol I’m a Virgo as well and my momma judge me for it 😆
I'm Virgo AF!!
Shayla your consistency is an inspiration! I’ve added weight lifting to my workout and see such a difference. Thank you!! 🙏🏽
Cardio made me lose my ass lol definitely should incorporate both weights and cardio ❤️

I redid all my socials and haven’t been following you since because of it and finally found your channel again. I’m so happy for you. I remember seeing how hard you would work with your workouts and starting keto. You’re doing great, very inspiring
when she said she was a Virgo I figured out why we related so much 😭
Please keep doing those fitness journey updates ! Like a meal of the month series or a highlight on Instagram about your food 🍲 I love your transformation !!!
You look great congratulations on seeing all your hard work pay off and I have to say you’re cute but I personally Love 💕 you’re personality 🥰
Thank you!!🙌🏾🙌🏾
This is your best fitness video so far! You explained so many important things that would get you to your goals. Loved it
When you looked at me after chick fil a...I canceled my lunch plans 😂
Had that for dinner tonight 🙃
Shaylaaa! I’m so proud of you! I started this journey with you when you were on keto and I’m so happy to see your results. Also within myself I’ve seen so many results. I’m so proud of you shayla !!

Good tasting unhealthy food is my weakness. It's like a disease that has no cure 🙄🤦🏾♀️. I will get it together I know anything I put my mind to i can achieve it. You can do it, Sis❤🙏🏾😊

You look fantastic, Shayla! One day I will get there, too. Congrats on your success! Thank you for the motivation.
