Here in Magny Cours Schumacher completely misjudged the corner and ran into the middle of Senna's car. In 89, Prost saw Senna and changed abruptely his line to hit Senna. In 92 Senna simply didn't see the Benetton. Prost cheated, exactly like Schumacher did in 94 and 97. Senna was on his normal line.
      Senna was on fault in Hungary 90' against Nannini (go and see), and did on purpose against Prost in Suzuka 90', but not here.

      Senna fanboys always say they are not fanboys then go on to prove they are. In 1989 Prost turned for the chicane and Senna was not half way alongside, Senna came from too far back too fast for the corner and never tried to avoid the collision. Prost had to turn or go off the track.
      Senna tried to overtake Nannini in Hungary and took Nannini out of the race much as he had tried to do to Prost in 1989. Prost never cheated to win anything unlike Senna who did quite a lot.

    Senna once deliberately destroyed his McLaren during the final moments of qualifying at the French GP by launching his car through the final 90° turn and crossing the line (which was located only a few metres along the straight) much faster than the speed needed to maintain grip. In fact, if memory serves from watching it live, by the time he slammed into the wall sideways, he was fully out of control and slightly airborne from the kerb contact.
    It's very surprising that this clip is not displayed or remembered as part of his incredible legacy.
    That was the Golden Age. Such was the dedication from teams and drivers, that the engine, gearbox, suspension and even the whole car could be sacrificed on a Friday and Saturday for the slightest advantage on a Sunday. They were the intoxicating days of raw competition that delivered true Champions, tested real men, and attracted real fans.

    • @thetruth9689
      @thetruth9689 6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      The Commission Yeah, you're right. In 1988 it was obvious from very early on that a McLaren driver would be World Champion and that most likely the driver with the most wins would take the title which turned out to be the case, with Senna taking the title in Japan with eight wins to Prost's six. Prost made two mistakes in 1988 firstly underestimating Senna and secondly not driving to the rules. As for 1990 what happened at Suzuka was a result of what happened in 1989 and also what had gone on during the race weekend.

    • @barrierodliffe4155
      @barrierodliffe4155 6 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Prost won 7 races in 1988 and his only mistake was to perseude McLaren to take Senna instead of Piquet.
      As for 1990, it had nothing to do with 1989 when Prost won by being 21 points ahead of Senna and in 1990 Senna deliberately took Prost out of the race because he did not think he could beat Prost on the track.

    • @andrearojas1248
      @andrearojas1248 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Well, until 1990 the rules were best 11 results out of 16 races. The rules were same for all. The best driver with most wins was supposed to be Champion, not the one in the most reliable car. So Senna was legit Champion 1988, period.
      1991 it got changed to 16 results but the winner got 10 instead 9 points. Senna won either way.

    i quote Senna here, "In Racing, if you see a gap you take it. If you don't then you are not Racing"... He said this when he hit Prost coming from behind. Only this time, Senna left almost the entire track width for Shumacher to take...

    • @saintlysinner3922

      what he actually said was "if u no longer go for a gap that exists then u no longer a racing driver" and he said it at the jackie stewart interview not when u say he did..

    • @Infiniteperception
      @Infiniteperception 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @e.mc2 Yes. Prost obviously turned in. Coz it's his corner. Senna just arrowed in into the tiny gap "obviously" with more speed. (Hope you noticed) There was no way he could've made that turn successfully from that place on the track (inside line and close to the Kerbs) and at the speed he came in from behind. He just arrowed in to deny the corner to Prost. That's it. In this case, Senna drove to the corner like there was nobody else on the track with him or behind him. He went wide to the left side of the track before turning right for the corner... Which is a normal racing line when you are not defending anybody. But "obviously" he left enough room on his right for a faster vehicle to overtake him, which Schumacher did. Still Senna took the corner going straight over the kerbs. But with another car at your rightside, that's a wrong line. He should've been sportive by leaving enough gap between himself and the kerb. "Obviously" he would've had a faster exit out of the corner than the car at the inside. If he says he didn't see him coming, then it's not Schumacher fault. If he had seen him coming and still drove that line means it's unsportive.

Schumi on the other hand probably thought he could bully senna to yield by making the move anyway. It is pretty similar thing has with brundle and schumacher in brands hatch in f3 race. The overtaking driver hopes to make the pass by forcing the other driver to avoid the accident. Senna and schumacher have been on both sides of this before. Schumi was pretty stupid to assume senna would ever yield.

      Brake tested ? Senna completely ruined Mansell's race, robbing him off a potential victory. No question that Senna was to blame, Nigel was (rightfully) very angry with him. It was Mansell's last race in F1 (before switching to IndyCar), and he wanted to produce something special, crowning his entire F1 career with a win in his last GP. It could be his 10th triumph in one season, what was a record at the time.

      Just like it was Senna's fault in Suzuka 1989 when he wanted to overtake Prost before the chicane, Prost closed the door, Senna barged into him, effectively destroying his race and later was furious that he got disqulified for illegal pushing by stewards.

      What the hell does Suzuka 1989 have to do with this accident, it was completely different. In Suzuka 89 Senna was alongside Prost, who turned into him (turned early in fact) to crash them out and win the title. Senna proved it was a perfectly good manoeuvre by doing exactly the same to Nannini later, who didn't want to crash into him. The race was meaningless for Prost, he was after the title. Senna was disqualified by Balestre for cutting the chicane, supposedly gaining an advantage from that. Apparently Balestre wanted Senna to turn the car around, drive in the opposite direction and rejoin.

      I know. The cheek of Schumacher to have his car anywhere near Senna when the great man was turning to go round a corner. Senna is a dirty hypocrite.

    • @thecommission6662
      @thecommission6662 6 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      Senna didn't have to give Schumacher any space because he was in front, Schumacher hit Senna's right rear tyre. Schumacher was starting his 14th F1 race, this accident shows his lack of F1 experience.

    What a disappointment to see Senna being eliminated by a panzer.
    What will forever separate these two champions : arrogance, lack of humanity, benevolence, the result at all costs on one side.
