That venue brings back many memories of fishing there in the late 60's early 70's. We used to drive to Shoreham in the morning to dig bait. Then stop at the chippy in Peacehaven for a late lunch/early dinner. Then drive to Tide Mills and set up camp Saturday evening. There used to be a lot of railway sleepers torn up from the sidings that used to be there which made a nice fire to keep us warm as we fished all night. Many cod came from there along with bass, Whiting, plaice, flounders, dabs, and of course doggies. Fishing sure has changed there. We stopped fishing there in the 80's and spent more time fishing Seaford once the (new) sea defences were finished which made it a lot safer to fish specially by the 'Buckle'.. Good video once again.
Cheers tony👍. Unfortunately I wasn't around in the 60s and 70s to experience, what sounds like the heyday of Tide Mills fishing 🤦♂️😂 I don't think anywhere in the South fishes like it did 40-50 years ago which is a shame because it sounds like it was awesome!
@@gsp It was. Then marriage got in the way of sea fishing as I lived in the Gatwick area with only one vehicle I couldn't get to stay down the coast for weekends any more. So I took up carp fishing until I was no longer married. Now I'm married to a lovely American lass that wants me to go fishing as she loves to eat fish. Except I have the Pacific ocean and not the English Channel to try to find fish in
Cheers steve👍 definitely good to talk to other anglers. I'm never to ignorant to realise someone may no better🤦♂️. Im glad I did find out! Although seeing his 3lb plus plaice was upsetting 😭😭😂😂
Top Angling Greg,👍and what a difference freshbaits can make,👍complacency is somethin we are all guilty of,🤔 but well done for going again ,👍anyway what a lovely venue😃☀️☀️ but what a pain in the arse that we attract swimmers and boat uses?why do they haunt us?🤬🤬tightlines mate,,👍🇬🇧🎣
Much better session for yourself this time round , the prawns certainly made a difference ,good call , probably would have been even better if it wasnt for that fecking boat 🤣, great vid . I'm off to sheppey Saturday night, Sunday morning on the hunt for a Ray . 👍🎣
Hi mate just wanted to thank you for the prawn tip! Fished Brighton marina yesterday and had about 25 plaice all on blacks tipped with prawn and only saw about 5 other plaice caught all day. Nearly every plaice came to the tipped bait made a huge difference! Unless I did it myself I wouldn't have believed how much difference it made!
@@gsp you deffo are mate 😂 difference was night and day. Had one decent one at 37cm all the rest around 28 but was bites all day so can't moan. I've watched all ya vids but on a different account great channel mate deffo made me want to go fuerteventura too 👍👍
Raw king prawns are my go to bait this year, after watching TA fishing. I use lug and prawn, or squid and mackerel with prawn. Killer bait for flat, fish, whiting, bass.

Now I've seen those uncooked prawns in ASDA many times and will definitely give them a try this year. Probably for bass!
Bass will love then! Look out at then end of the day because quite often they are on offer👍
Unlucky with the boat mate, great video, keep them coming tight lines 🎣
Cheers Ian👍 bloody boats🤦♂️😡😂

Good luck on the Ray hunt wayne🤞 I think I'm going further afield this weekend just for a change of scenary. That boat was extremely annoying 😡😡😂
I wasn’t going to mention the boat, until I saw the end 😂😂, I think you’re jinxed,I suppose it could have been the swimmers again 😂🙄
I think I am at that venue! 😂😂

Definitely worth going to fuerte 👍 there are endless possibilities out there and it's a lovely island👍
Nice to get your revenge, not sure if you tried any baits without the prawn but would have been interesting to see if it made any difference 🐟🎣
I should have tried that but after the disaster of the first session I just wanted to catch a fish or two🤦♂️😂

I've always used raw king prawn for smooth hounds and for bream but never for fatties. I was surprised with how effective it was! 😳
@@gsp yes had plenty of dabs and some decent flounder on prawns. As you said. Also fresh bait a must too.
Good video mate keep them coming. 👍
Cheers jamie👍👍
The wooden arm at Newhaven produces monster wrasse and bass dropping live prawns down the legs at the end, live tiny pout for the bass
I might have to give that a go🤔👍
hi greg you ok mate. well done on your plaice . iff its not swimmers its boats lol. hope your luck changes mate. all the best from GY.
My luck gets worse Carl! 🤦♂️ Been fishing today for 7 hrs without a bite😭😭😭😭
Nice session on the plaice sometimes the bait makes all the difference👍bloody boat 🙄
Yeah it can be something as simple as a bait change and that's it! Yeah I'm over boats and swimmers😂😂😂
Excellent session 👏
Cheers GAVMAN👍👍👍
Good fishing video
Thank you👍
I KNEW my guess would be wrong!😐
I gave you the chance to change your mind! 😂😂😂
@@gsp Nah, I was set on mussel, but think razor is one that keeps surprising..... but maybe thats why I blank 😂 prawns will be tried now 👍🏻
