Could it be done with something like a 70 Riviera so we can use the factory wheels?

The truck rotors requires a larger center bore on the wheels. A machine shop could resize hub or purchase rotors from scarebird. Let me know when you decide and what you end up with

Beautiful car....my mom bought a 69 Riv new off the showroom floor, and gave it to me last summer. I'm going to be doing a disk conversion this spring as soon as the snow melts. I noticed you mention you had not done the rear yet; as I responded to someone below, the rear OEM 10 bolt *should* accept most any other 10 bolt disk conversion for when you get to that point.
Question...why wouldn't 95 Check 1/2 ton calipers work? Confused why you had to go with Astrovan calipers.

      Thanks for the info
I got the information as to what parts work on
      Scarebirds web site.
It did say 4 w drive only ASTRO van calipers, the disc pads are a 1/2 truck part number

@@bolobrown814 only thing that is not plug and play is the stock wheels gave a smaller hub size if you want to run stock hub caps
      You would need Truck 15"
Wheels 5 on 5 bolt pattern

So you don’t need a hub bearing on the front or do the studs go straight into the rotor

    • @Grandpa660
      @Grandpa660 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

I know I should of replaced the studs prior to making video. That being said, the stud that come with the rotors are 14m x14.5 so you will need to replace them with 1972 c10 disc brake stud. 1/2 threads

      Here we go
      Front rotors
      1995 to 99 1/2 ton gm
      Truck rotors 1971 c10
      Disc brake wheel studs
      And brake hoses,
      1990 to 2002 chevy
      ASTRO AWD 4X4 brake
      calipers and caliper
bolts wheel bearing and seals reuse what came
      off the drum set up,
      Order the caliper brackets
from Scarebird classic brakes the O.E. wheels
Will not fit , the hub bore
      Is 1/4" or so larger.
      You can get around
      It by changing the wheels
      Any truck wheel will work
      15" steel wheels or 22s
Rotor hub area can be cut
      To fit stocks... Amazon
      Has good prices on brake
Parts red calipers disc pads too best to get the ceramic D396 just remember when you order
Brake pads you see a 396
In there could be centric 105.03960 good luck

Most GM 10 and 12 bolt rear ends *should be* interchangeable...for the most part...so disk brake conversions for those axles *should* work.
I'm doing the same kind of conversion on my mom's (now mine) 69 Riv that she bought off the showroom floor in 69.
