Very beautifully explained ,the background of the dish. I am from Goa and this recipe is a routine one and believe me we end up drinking it . Thank you for sharing this classic Portuguese oriented recipe
You are my favourite owing to your polite humility, well-thought over procedure which you break down into the simplest possible steps and the result is short videos covering all important and only relevant details. To top it all your vocabulary which adds a unique flavour to your videos.
It also depends on the teacher, if the teacher is good then yes, you show your dedication and respect. I had some horrible teachers who should not be teaching children.
Varun I can see the joy on your face just reminiscing about your childhood days. I remember my childhood days when i used to watch my Goan Grandmother cook. Oh! that Caldine!!
I tried this recipe and that tasted heaven .. i made it with prawns🤤🤤... My mom is konkani from the bordes of goa amd karnataka.. but i never had this curry before... Now i m not looking back 🤤🤤🤤
Hey Varun this recipe of pomfret caldine I must say is exactly how my Mum makes it back home in Goa..Love all your recipes and tried some. Thanks for sharing
First time I made this Pomfret Caldine Curry and it’s taste amazing and perfect spice for perfect tongue.always loves goan fish curries this one something special for me.Thanks for the great simple recipe 🙏🙇♂️🙏.Lots of Loves from Chennai💐
Greetings to you from Chennai.I have been in Goa for a period of 5 years, and I did enjoy their cuisine.Every bite of their food is yummy and delicious.
This recipe is similar to Goan fish curry or even Karwari curry, usually made with red chilies and green chilies are added for tempering or just like that and coconut oil is used. Instead of straining, we directly put curry mixture in cooking pot and yes some thick coconut milk is added.
In love with all of your recipes. Thank you won't be enough for doing what you do to help us! And for continuing your work even during these difficult times :) Much love and good health to you and your family!
Pls do a vegetable caldine... Want to know what sort of veggies like Cauliflower, Potatoes, Carrots & Peas will go. How they have to be cut. And how to add, whether fresh or steamed veggies go into them...!
This is not the correct way . Onions and rice Powder to grinded together with coconut . No tomatoes as tamarind is there . Green chillies and finally chopped onions to start with .in coconut oil a must Add grounded masala . Add water . Put fish after first boil and finish with coconut milk finally . Coconut
You cannot substitute pomfret with any fish. High flavored fish like Tuna cannot be used. You can use King fish aka surumai/ vanjiram, Karimeen aka green chromide ( kerala green chromide, not andhra variety ), white snapper, silver biddy,or some time red snapper. Thats it...
Your recipes are no doubt great but your kitchen speaks authenticity and genuineness of you passion. Keep cooking. Thanks.

Am also a retired central school Teacher ,and I really appreciate your dedication and respect that you have for your teacher even now.
Totally agree with your sentiments.....since I'm a retired teacher too.💖

Coconut
For best results you need use small kankon red chilies or bor mirchi that's the secret
Whoww
Do you pour one cup of water at a time to the dry coconut mix, stir and then pass through sieve again? Or find each time in the machine? Thank you
I'm curious about what you'd do with the leftover ground cocunut mix. Seems like a waste to throw it away.
