- Today I'm joined by Zan Syed to break down his Amethyst Steel list that I took to the Lorcana Store Championships. This build of Amethyst Steel is very tempo orientated and does NOT revolve around the Jafar combo like a lot of other Amethyst Steel decks. Give it a try!

Thanks for the great vid! Was able to take 2nd place twice this weekend with Amethyst/Steel! Local meats were chock full of Ruby/Amethyst, this was extremely good into it with the right draws and set up
My local store champs have hadultiple spots in top 8 taken by steel/amethyst. I won 2 events and 3 stitches total out of 4 with my steel/amethyst build. Deck is amazing

I just won my store championship with a Steel/Sapphire aka Stuey
I saw this list and was very intrigued. Very happy to see a discussion about the specifics! The only Championship I can make is Sunday and was mulling over whether or not to play my comfort deck (RA) or something spicy. Being that I don't own any blue or green cards, and I'm not super comfortable with the lines of SteelSong, this really looks like something I want to be playing!
How would you tweak for a meta with a lot of Emerald Steel? Specifically the bigger versions that play Beast and Tinkerbell? We have a lot of that here. Or should I just stick with RA?
Wish there was a matchup guide into emerald steel? Seems to be extremely popular rn.
My locals will most likely have a lot of aggro decks (since they are cheaper and some players are less tryhard here). I feel like I need at least 1 swords or big tink or both.
You mentioned you might need to sub them in, but what would you switch out for them?
would you ever consider playing 62 cards and just add a tink and swords? 😅
ah well I just got to the end where you say 1 swords for the rafiki...interesting I will def try that, though I do love the rafiki! 😅
Since I don't expect as much sapphire decks, I am considering taking out 1 benja for the 1 rafiki back in (so in total 1 benja for 1 grab your swords), thoughts? :D

Lorcana has been my main hobby since it came out and I overestimated how well I would do the first time I went to a tournament (this was in set 2) so idk why but I put myself under SO MUCH PRESSURE to get top 4 in this tourney, and I correctly predicted that there would be mainly ruby/amethyst players, so I was kicking myself a bit that I didn't go green/steel discard at first, and I also lost 0/2 in my 3rd round against ruby/sapphire, but I am so glad I stuck with my favorite colors since set 1 (amethyst/steel) and tried your list!
I took out 1 benja to add 1 grab your sword, like I had commented here, and it really paid off cause my top 8 game was against amber/amethyst hyper aggro, who just stomped all the ruby/amethysts and dodged all steel decks (of which there were only like 5/24 weirdly?) until mine 😁 and I am so glad I didn't take out the 1 rafiki for it, cause i had multiple situations where it super threw off and surprised the opponent! And I won my finals match against r/a because of the 2 spellbooks!
So thank you again for going into detail into this list, it helped solidify my decision to play it so much!

What's up with the hard cuts after every sentence Zan says in the beginning? Really jarring
I won on Wednesday, got owned by cree on first match, ended up in top 8 (very surprised over) vs Keane... Which I somehow won which was equally surprising

Can you comment more in detail why you think this deck is favorite against ruby/sapphire? this is not my experience with it at all but i might be missplaying
You out tempo them before they get their Big Crab out. Don't overextended into be prepared. Castles are your friend in this matchup.
anyone have any decent ideas for replacing the robbin hood stuff? just getting into the game and am on a budget.
My locals is a ton of green/steel- whats best to beat them
Other steel like yellow steel and blue steel yet a lot don't play those two colors in my locals cause of the overwhelming red blue meta
Grab swords is one of the best cards to beat green in general but since not many other steel decks are being run they run free when a good pilot exists sometimes
zero counter to Bucky. no grab your swords, tinker bell, pick a fight, avalanche, one last hope, bucky would stay on the field all day son, all day. can’t exert any card with ward. people are also running amethyst robin hood to hit diablo and smash to deal with emerald ursulas. meta is constantly shifting, might also struggle with ruby amethyst decks which is still the most popular used deck
