Tale of Tamiyo upgrading the poison deck just like Tamiyo getting captured and being poked and prodded by Jin Gitaxias and thus helping him upgrade the glistening oil to compleat planeswalker. Idk her lore but it's kinda morbidly hilarious
It was so kind of that Darthtater..."person" to give us such an unapologetic emote villain to root against. Thank you for your devotion to the narrative of LegenVD's videos, Darthtater. It was so satisfying to watch you lose. 🥰
this deck is crazy. There are rarely times in magic when deckbuilding leads to decks that are degenerate is absolutely unpredicted ways in standard. Back in ixalan there was this explore mass reanimate for example, way later down the line there was that winota dogs deck. This deck is of that caliber.
I'm actually incredibly impressed with how much card draw on avg that saga gets you. I guess it works best in a control setting where you're like 90% lands and instants.
@@MattTorresit's only looking at 2 cards at a time. If it was 3 that had to be the same kinda it'd be a different story Also, an all creature deck would work too
This is a great deck idea for getting graveyard casts using enchantments for spell slinging decks! Not relying on creatures or Flashback text makes is more flexible. New Tamiyo saga is almost exactly Jin Gitaxias/Great Synthesis❤. Graveyard hate and enchantment removal is a great counter to this deck, so a deck upgrade probably needs some protection for competetive play. Also Cut Down to me is not always great removal in Duskmourn....I am testing Freeze in Place, because being tapped 3 turns is sometimes a better option than killing opponents' creatures that have death triggers.
It took me until game 5 to realize you still have to pay for the cards you exile. I was asking myself “why not exile all the cards and just win the game?”
I've featured it in the previous iteration of this deck! Don't know if there's room for both in the same deck, but they all play well in this archetype.
Kind of cool to see this archetype get an upgrade. Even the old version was annoying to tokens decks, because they just can't interact with it in any way.
First time I saw this saga was from an opponent playing with the Slimes Sorcery. I don't remember who I was watching, I just thought it was a very funny deck. This deck has an easier time winning, though.
The other day I managed to win a game thanks to Prologue to Phyresis + Cursed Recording + Invocation of the Founders (Invasion of Arcavios transformed). 10 poison counters in a single turn simply by making copies of Prologue to Phyresis, seemed like a promising combo, but need to find a way to make it easier to pull with my limited collection.
I'm not looking forward to seeing this spammed all over the ladder. Does look strong though. Leyline of the void, leyline binding, and azorius mill would probably be the best things to go at it with.
Opponent was a bit too eager to concede on game one, they still had only 3 poison counters while we were almost out of cards, I'm not even sure if we could actually close that game if he stopped playing anything for example, and gave us no targets.
11:22 you should pick the Vraska's Falls too. They give poison counters even if the opponent doesn't sacrifice anything. Edit: I didn't realize the copies still cost mana, I thought it was like Mizzix's Mastery I actually think you should be proliferating the saga too, as it gets you to your win condition quicker. Edit: The whole "spells cost mana" thing changes this math too. This is what I get for questioning LVD
Love it or hate it you have to admit this deck is a pretty slick feat of engineering. And I do think you'd be in the minority saying t2-kill-capable Leyline red would be the hero against this. 😅
